- You can expect to spend between $60-$80 per day for a diesel generator.

- They are not normally running. If power fails there will be some automatic emergency lighting powered by batteries which should allow the backup generators plenty of time to get started. They are often diesel powered. You can hope that they are reasonably maintained and tested from time-to-time.
- Q:Design the logic circuit for starting an emergency diesel generator. For the generator to start, the generator must be disconnected from the bus, there must be sufficient start air pressure, and the fuel tank must indicate there is oil. When these conditions are met, then the diesel may be started. Presume there are senors to determine these values.
- This is just an and gate function. When the outputs of all the sensors are true and a start command is present, the output of the gate will go high to allow the engine to start.

Diesel is a by-product that is refined from trying to make gas from crude oil. Diesel can also be made from soy beans, coal oil, vegtable oils, used cooking oils. The new Blue tec diesel engines exhaust is even cleaner then the air that went into the air filter--(cleans the air as you drive). Diesel doesn't evaporate ,. The old vw rabbits use to get 48 mpg highway---that was 24 years ago, diesel engines have gotten cleaner and more powerful for their size. Generators normally never go above 3600 rpms. So the idea of a engine that has so many ways to make the fuel, fuel that has more energy per gallon, cleans the air as it drives, the engine has plenty of torque for it's size and weight---just makes scents to me that it would make a good hybrid

- Reverse power shutdown, can be caused by to low of a frequency or hertz setting,below 60hz., for example 30hz., or cycles.It also can be caused if several generators are on the same line, and one has a much lower output,It will shutdown or trip off on reverse power.Hope this helps

- It sounds like a really bad idea. Not just noise-wise, but storing petrol or diesel in your apartment is a significant fire risk and possibly breach of your tenancy/lease agreement or giving an insurance company a let-out in the event of fire. Are you sure you don't mean 700va ? this is about the smallest, quietest generator.
- Q:I have a 1992 Toyota Tercel that sits in my yard. It ran at one time, but has been driven so little that it now no longer starts. Had this problem one time before and paid someone to fix it. They replace the fuel pump to get it started again. - I'm not going to comment about hydrogen fuel cells, except to say that I think they'll be out of reach (unless and until they solve the platinum problem) but I've owned both a 2003 honda civic hybrid and a 2006 peugeot diesel (1.6 Litre HDi -- not sold in the USA). The diesel got 60 mpg. The hybrid started out at 55 and dropped to 46, even with careful driving. For hilly areas, hybrids are good on the downhill, annoying on the uphill. Diesels on the other hand, are very zippy. Until recently I thought that diesel was go, and that the only problem was that US wasn't mandating for the use of ultra low-sulphur the way that Europe is (see the wikipedia article below) But then I found the Union of Concerned Scientists report, which contains the following information Diesel vehicles can help a car travel 30 to more than 40 percent farther on a gallon of diesel fuel. However, this advantage is only partly due to the higher efficiency of diesel engines, which offer a 15 to 25 percent improvement over gasoline. The remaining increase is due to the fact that diesel fuel contains 13 percent more energy than a gallon of gasoline. so, unless we mandate that ALL new cars be super efficient (whether hybrid-gasoline, hybrid-diesel, plug-in electric, or veggie oil) , the cost factors are going to be very high. I think that, if the priority for ALL new car manufacturers was efficiency, then the economy of scale rule would mean that the retooling costs would be lower, and we could afford to have more highly processed fuel, or different types of engines. This is always welcome, because oxygen content of fresh air is normally higher than that of the recirculated air. Also, the recirculated air smells like chemicals and makes your clothes smell and your cigarettes taste like garbage. Submarines don't have windows that go out, because it would be pointless underwater, and on the surface the boat is steered from the bridge. Clean water is made from steam, provided from the ship's reactor. The time spent underwater is only limited by food. Qualifications are stringent, in that you have to be medically and psychologically sound, and you have to be qualify for and be able to do the job to which you are assigned.
