Q:I understand that it powers your stuff. But how does it get power? How long can it run before losing it's power? Please no physics, just a simple answer. Thanks!: simple words But how does it get power? it makes its own, to share with you, it turns a fossil fuel into electricity How long can it run before losing it's power? until its fuel is gone (depending on the size of the fuel tank, rough measure is 8 hours on half load on its tank of fuel)

I'm already aware.: Yanmar, Onan, Yamaha, Honda, Cummins, Caterpillar, Farymann Marine, Isuzu, Detroit Diesel, Deutz, John Deere, Lister, Mitsubishi, Perkins, Kubota, Volvo, Fiat, Lincoln, Susuki, Kawasaki etc. And ten thousand Chinese things that apparently you can even get a run named after yourself! Thats of the top of my head - there are hundreds I have never heard of or just can't remember right now. Good luck. Stick to good locally serviced brands for any warranty claims and you can't go wrong.

Q:hi , can anyone give me the DG a,b,c,d checks details and schedule like a chart or something: Hi It is the same as a gas engine to maintain. Except for the fuel has to be water free. There will be a bowl some where to empty the water. Changing the oil etc. depends on how much you use it.

Q:I have been given a cheap diesel generator made from china. It starts alright, but seems to be reving very high and poping and spitting until it has ran for a while. It surges some times as well. I don't really like it much and haven't used it to power anything other then to load test it a bit. I have checked the motor and all it has is a simple governor on it with no adjustments? I am not sure even where to start adjusting anything on this. Any body have one of these and same problem? It sounds like a stationary engine used to power a generator or pump or similar application at a constant RPM.

Q:im an helper mechanic and i ask my boss about it he didntgive me an answer so selfish of him !!!: Reverse power shutdown, can be caused by to low of a frequency or hertz setting,below 60hz., for example 30hz., or cycles.It also can be caused if several generators are on the same line, and one has a much lower output,It will shutdown or trip off on reverse power.Hope this helps

Q:I own a Chinese made diesel generator. 10HP, 5kW, which recently stopped putting out power. The generator head has three separate power outputs; 120VAC (#1) 120VAC (#2) and 12VDC for battery charging. All three ceased output simultaneously. I've tried re-exciting or flashing the alternator, which didn't do anything other than make it knock when it generated a magnetic field.I've been told my voltage regulator may have failed, but I have no knowledge of how the AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) on the high-voltage side may work to verify.Ideas? Thanks!: Some have safety fuses or circuit breakers to safeguard Voltage spikes. Check also for a switch which enables the generator once the deisel moter has been started. The fuel consumption will be dependent upon the size of the generator and the load that is placed upon it. You should find the fuel consumption among the generator specs.

Q:If it is that equation then if i ran a 500 gallon diesel generator under full loadsaying at about 3.5MPG will i get 1250 hours to get 52 days?!?!?!? or am i off on equation or my theory????: Conversion? They are calculating two different things. The reason something would be measured in work hours instead of mileage is for the fact the equipment does not in fact travel under its own load or it spends more time at a stand still. Work hours tend to be used on a lot of construction equipment and other things that stay stationary for long amounts of time thus creating wear on the unit though it is not moving and adding miles so they use hours to calculate how old the unit is or when it needs to be serviced next. You can never get an actual equality from these two different units as one measures time usage/fuel and one measures distance/fuel if you were calculating to find a run time for example. ***additional*** There would be no equation for MPG that you are looking for if converting from hours. Are you looking for how much fuel is consumed over a length of time? That's the only way to calculate fuel consumption would be over time vs. over a distance as MPG is.
