Q: I have a 92 Honda Accord DX and just bought a radio for it. I hooked up all the wires correctly( i think ) except for the memory wire and it doesn't even turn on. What does the memory wire do? Is there something else I'm missing?
particularly than slicing the harness, purchase an adaptor harness (availible at any vehicle audio shop and often even at places like Autozone and Wal-mart. That way in case you identify to sell the motor vehicle, you may positioned the production facility head back in and shop your good stereo!
Q: Hello, I have a 91 ciera. it has the 3.3 engine and 3spd tranny. My dash wiring needless to explain is toast *long story* I can grab a 89 wiring harness for the dash from my local yard, I want to know *if anyone knows* will the wires match up between the 91 engine harness and the 89 dash wiring? Both cars have the same engine/tranny set up so I am just curious if any wiring mods would be needed?Thank you if anyone knows
hey this is what it is all about go to youre local harbor frieght tool store for cheapness and extreme quality get a wiring case with all the little adapters and cuplers and just snip here snip there bodda bing bodda boom just add the ones you need and you are done oh and by the way that was if it doesnt fit
Q: Depending on the year are they the sae lets same like 98 and up?
Could be but not necessarily. It depends on engine/transmission combos and optional equipment. Also depends on which wiring harness you need, engine harness, front lighting harness, rear lighting harness, etc.
Q: I have a 93 del sol and i startd to notice that my fuse was blowing alot to my radio.because im not a mechanic i had no idea what was wrong so i just kept replacing the fuse. Until recently when i smelld and then saw smoke coming outta my speaker hole.So i pulled off the paneling and realized that my wires were getting so hot they were burning all the plastic around them, and now they are all meltd together.my car wont start or anything. No lights are coming on when i turn the keyMy question is.How much do you think it will cost to fix this? And does this sound like the wiring harness is fried to you?How much does 1 usually go for at a junk yard??Thank YOU
Replace all damaged wires. It you have a resistance tester (Fluke for instance is top-of-the-line, very good, but cheap knock-offs are available at Radio Shack) then you can check the wires. your wires are too small for the amount of power going to the speakers (did you recently upgrade components?) get a larger gauge (AWG) (smaller number on wire). then you'll have to check all the appropriate fuses - there may be more than one blown. When the wire insulation melted, a short formed over current smoke and other bad stuff. This is all a start. It's hard to say how extensive the damage really is without a knowledgeable electrician on scene. Also, there could be another problem that occurred simultaneously or that could have been masked.
Q: I am totally clueless to this stuff. I want to get a wiring harness that will fit a Pioneer single DIN head unit and will also clip into my 2012 Silverado without having to cut any wires. Help?
Just go to a car audio store and ask for 2012 chevy silverado wire harness($10-$15).it clicks in to the part that was connected with the stalk sterio. They shuld be the same color as the ones on back of your new sterio, just match em and there u go!.you'll need a dash kit as well
Q: I tried to get an autozone wiring harness but is intended for a truck with a towing package( which my truck doesn't). I was wondering what is the easiest and cheapest way to get a trailer light hookup on my truck?
reese products carries a taillight converter with a four blade flat connector part number 118130. you can go to advance auto parts and they should have it in stock or they can get it in a day or two. the package should have instructions on how to wire it into your factory wiring. If your trailer does not have the flat four blade hookup then advace should have some sort of conversion for the trailer hookup as well. You still need the converter though to start with.
Q: i have older alpine in dash and looking to upgrade. Had alpine installed by dealer by replacing oem in dash. If i upgrade to a new alpine would the wiring harness be the same or different

Q: I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. It has a regular factory cd stereo and I want to install a new aftermarket stereo. I have found the wiring harness, but it cost at least $60. Can I bypass the harnesses' and wire direct. I also found a wiring diagram for my stereo to make sure I get the wires right. Oh and will I void any warranties by doing this? Thanks for any info
Every stereo comes with a a bunch of wires sticking out of a plug which plugs into the back of the stereo. You then have to get an adapter for your specific make and model of your car which will also have plug on one end. The wires from the stereo plug need to be connected to the wires on the car adapter. The adapter comes with a diagram which tells you what wires are for each function. When your done, you should have on big harness which on one end fits into your stock connector and then the other end goes into the stereo. If the adapter doesnt come with a wiring diagram, usually it says on the wires themselves what that wire goes to. All you have to do is match them up. (ie. LR speaker+ to LR speaker+ etc.) Usually the kits run $10 to $20 depending on your car. Best Buy almost always has the adapter you'll need. It shouldn't void your warranty because you aren't cutting any of the cars wiring to do this.
Q: 1999 saab 95 do they make one for taking out the radio to put in a aftermarket
Yes they make them. And I would advise using it, not cuttng the wires and hard wiring. The harness will be color coded to the aftermarket radios wire colors, so it will be simple to hook up and will plug right into the cars factory harness. That also leaves you the ability to put the factory radio back in if you sell the car later. The Metra part# is 70-1784. There are other brands available but I don't have part#'s for those. Any car audio shop should have one, just tell them what model and year of car. I think BestBuy carries the Metra part which I think is the best quality harness on the market.
Q: Hello, I recently have been trying to find a radio wire harness for Mercury Milan 06 Premier System(8 Speakers). Everywhere we go, we find normal 4 stock speaker harnesses, which don't work for a premier system. If anyone knows what I might have to buy and or do to make this work, I'd be very grateful. Been trying to figure this out for about 10hrs over the last 2 days, so kind of getting aggravated. Thanks,Kolten
