Q: I just got my wiring harness off of OKorder. My problem is that it doesn't have a remote amp turn on lead wire. What can I do?I need to hook up my system.
You need to tap your ignition wire, splice a remote wire on it and run it to your amp and wire it to the remote turn on terminal.
Q: i have bought double din CAR DVD player VM9020TS from OKorder and it came without power harness, now i am very confused, now can i find the power harness input cable for this player, does all cars has the same power input adapters for stereos. my car is maxima 04 and has factory embedded cd/cassette player(which sucks). anybody help me to find the wire harness for this dvd player. i will appreciate it. thanks
Either go to a jensen dealer and have them order on one or you may be able to call the company and order a harness direct from jensen. Check on OKorder too, you may be able to find on there.
Q: I have a Pioneeer DEH-P2000 tuner that has died on me. I'd like to install a replacement unit that will work with the existing wiring harness. Is there anyplace I can get a list of tuners that would use the same wiring harness?
well if you get another pioneer im pretty sure they have the same harnesses.
Q: What are the types of car harnesses, such as engine harnesses
YJV is a cross-linked polyethylene insulated PVC sheathed power cable, generally used in power load, and KVV line is that we commonly known as the control line is generally used in fire or weak, the two are not the same. Speaking of popular adoption.
Q: 2005 HYUNDAI ELANTRA Changed all fuses and bulbs sockets work because lights will work one week and one week one wont . Im told its a wiring harness ? At first I was told a multi relay switch but that only fixed the headlights. Not the horn dash or rear lights.
Cancel that, as you mention the horn
Q: Could I just wrap the exposed wire together and tape it tightly around with electrical tape if I do not wanna solder?
Yes, you can definitely do that. Just watch out because behind some receivers it will get hot and the adhesive on the electrical tape will melt off and then the tape will fall off. Also just taping the wires will not provide as secure or strong signal as a soldered connection. I have used just electrical tape for a once receiver before, but never again I did it once and it blew my radio fuse when the electrical tape fell off, two of the wires touched and shorted. I know people who have just used electrical tape and it worked fine for them but I would recommend soldering it so you won't have to do it twice if it comes undone and replace a fuse. Good Luck with the new receiver! If you have any other questions just let me know.
Q: Does it damage the engine, alternator and battery?
When a rookie get involved in car maintenance, then there starts the problem. Eg.To remove the water pump the rookie would not have proper tools . To swap a alternator the rookie would not disconnect the battery, so while connecting the cables should short the fuse. Then the rookie would like the know why it happened.
Q: I have my grandfathers old international I am trying to restore but mice have eaten a great deal of the wiring under the good. Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.
Painless okorder
Q: Can you find a wire harness with the wires all ready connected? meaning all you do is snap them into place?
Not enough info, Carey. Is this for a car, just a home built radio (if so AM or FM). Drop buy a local Radio Shack if there's one near you or try Best-Buy. Have you tried Googling your question? -a guy named duh
Q: I recently had a hitch intstalled on my car for my bike rack. However, I'm having a tough time deciding if I want to install the wiring harness for trailer lights, just in case I ever decide to tow anything.I will primarily use the hitch for the bike rack. But, it's not inconceivable that I may be inclined to tow a small trailer occasionally if I had the wiring harness. However, my car does not have the connector that you can use to plug the harness into. So, it would require splicing directly into my car's wiring. Since the car is still under warranty, I don't like the sound of that very much. I don't want someone messing with the electical system if they could accidently mess it up somehow.
All cars and trucks have a modular plug in the rear where the S/S/T lights plug in. This is usually, but not always, a square connector about 3 inches long that will have anywhere from 4 to 6 wires in it. If you purchase the correct adapter, you can simply unplug the connector and plug the new one in forming a T. Once this is done, just plug the back half of the original connector into it. You're done! On the west coast, I use a place called Six Robblies to find all my hard to find trailer connectors. The connector is usually, but not always, located on the left frame rail about midway between the rear axle and the bumper. Some vehicles have two connectors. Make sure you attack the one that comes from the front as the other one is used to connect the right hand light and maybe the license plate light only. If you still want to do this the hard way, feel free. It's not that hard. Just make sure you color code the wires, that is, put like colors together.
