Q:I have a 1994 Geo Tracker. I have a AIWA CTX409 (is ISO/DIN compliant and conform to the ISO Wire Color Code standard if that makes a difference)head unit in. I want to put a Kenwood KDC-MPV619 in. Do I need to get a new reciever wire harness or would the old one be ok?? I don't know much about the car audio and such so annnny help would be greatly appreciated :).
If an adapting wire harness was used to install the Aiwa, you can cut away the part of the harness that plugged into the back of the Aiwa radio and crimp or solder the Kenwood on instead. No need to purchase another harness; the wire colors should be the same.
Q:how do i fix this problem with my speakers everything else is working fine just no sound coming out my speakers and they where working fine with the factory radio
I'm pretty sure that there is no switched power in that harness. Check the pin on the factory harness with the red one on your radio harness. If there isn't a pin there then you need to find switched power somewhere within the vehicle. Your best bet is probably the ignition or accessory wire in your ignition harness. I don't think I've ever found a switched power fuse with enough amperage capability in a BMW.
Q:for and aftermarket stereo in my car?my friend says he can install my stereo for me without one but it will take longer and is more difficult. also he says i wont be able to put my factory stereo back in again. is this true?
Very True. Your friend is right, and probably knows what he is doing. A wiring harness makes it a lot easier, especially when you sell your car and want to put your stock stereo back in. But unless you know what you are doing, always get a harness
Q:I bought an Alpine car cd player and I need to buy the wires to hook it up to my 1997 Ford Taurus - Where can I buy this at? Like does walmart have it? Radio shack? I have looked at the store websites but cannot find anything but I might be calling it the wrong thing. Thank you!
radio shack has some ,check yellow pages for independent stereo shops, you can buy one there, could google vehicle stereo wiring harness adapter kits
Q:Who knows what is the name of the stuff in the picture? Everyday life is often seen, but want to buy and do not know what it is called. The

Q:I had a Sony head unit in my car, and it was stolen, so I was wondering if I could go out and buy another head unit, and just plug it in as long as the plug were the same? Are all of them wired the same way or does each head unit have it's own wiring design?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Are the Sony Xplod wiring harnesses the same? I had a Sony head unit in my car, and it was stolen, so I was wondering if I could go out and buy another head unit, and just plug it in as long as the plug were the same? Are all of them wired the same way or does each head unit have it's own wiring design?
Q:i have a wiring harness that leads from my radio and it's stuck inside the other wiring harness, it's cracked on the one side and i can't seem to get it out any suggestions would be helpful
Pull hard. It will come out There is slit in the corrugated loom.If it has that tape on it, note that it isn't adhesive. You can unwrap it like a mummy--takes a while--or slit it (Careful!) open and use electrical tape to replace it. If it's melted and cracked, it may take insulation from any wire it touched. There was a short--find and fix this Before you replace the wire or it'll do it again.
Q:I just bought a Metra 80-6502 for my 03 dodge ram 1500. It has 2 ends. One is black and box shaped, the other is white and has a bunch of little boxes. Which end is for what?
Well the white plugs are quick plug ins for the the speakers in the dodge ram. let me guess, the white, gray, grean, and purple wires are the ones that have the white plugs on them right? The black end of the harness is what plugs into the harness on the car. plug it in and make sure it fits. Once it fits disconect it and cut the white plugs off of the other end. Then just wire your new radio up the same way. Just in case you dont know the wireing I will tell you. I dont like to hear people burned a brand new radio or started poping fuses or something. Q:I have a motorcycle with a full factory fairing, and it is all wired through a 20 pin connector.I want to eliminate the fairing and go to a classic cruiser front end. Will need to wire headlights, speedo, tach, fuel gauge, clock (?), and maybe some other stuff that's buried in there like an ICM to Tach connection and dimmer switch. Is this feasible? Can I just pull the wires out of the harness and hook them to individual components? Can I find a blank male 20 pin connector and wire all my new stuff into it.Will the LCD displays like fuel, clock, and odometers use the same voltages as analog displays if I go with those? Also might just go with an all in one speedo with tach, idiot lights, clock, fuel gauge, etc. Can I expect to be able to wire it up?Finally, there will be stuff that will be left unused, like stereo speakers and CB radio connections. Can I just leave that stuff unconnected and tied off with no impact on the overall system?
It can be done and for someone who is familiar with electricity, motorcycle systems and electrical test equipment a nice little project. I'm getting the impression that you would be in over your head based on your questions. see if you can enlist the time of someone who has experience with such things. everything you listed is possible and available It's not hard if you know what you are doing. For the inexperienced tho it can be a steep and expensive learning curve!
Q:If I put a wiring harness for a 98 Jeep wrangler manual into my 98 Jeep wrangler automatic will there be a difference?
Why would you do that? There are different inputs/outputs for different engines. You are sure to have multiple/not enough wires on the harnesses.
