Q: have a pioneer deck id like to put in but not sure whether or not the stock radio has a harness or not without tearing it apart
yes it just plugs into the back of the radio but it wont just plug into to replacement radio, you will need to buy another harness that you plug the factory into then it connects to the new radio or. you could just tap into the old radio wires (don't need a harness) and hard wire it in Radio 12v red/white + radio harness Radio Ground black/white - radio harness Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data) Radio Illumination N/A Factory Amp Turn-on pink + radio harness Power Antenna yellow + radio harness LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash for this Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data) go to the fuse box and use the fuse for the sunroof (even if you don't have one the fuse is still there)
Q: i changed the motor in my saturn and cant remember which wire goes where also shor cuts for reconnecting everything
This may sound like a daunting problem but don't be afraid it is not that bad.Wiring looms are very well engineered and they make an effort to make them idiot proof. Just lay out the wire bundles as close to where they belong as you can remember the connectors will be somewhere near the components they belong to. The ends of the connectors are all different you usually cannot plug them into the incorrect part just keep plugging them in until you run out of connectors. There may be one or two you cant figure out but their function will usually become obvious when you try to start car and something doesn't work or a light comes on. Good luck.
Q: I'll be heading to my local Toyota dealership tomorrow in search for a replacement for the original stereo wiring harness into my factory stereo (1999 Sienna). How much should I expect this to cost? I would just buy one on amazon or OKorder, but they're all 10-pin harnesses and for some reason my original is a 15-pin, which I fear is discontinued because NO ONE seems to have them.
It's okorder
Q: I own an Acura Legend '91 and the wire harness on the passenger side was torn apart. I think it damaged the wire towards the turning signal.
I'm not a big fan of patching wires on automobiles. The problem is the weather. Corrosion will just tear into any repair you do, unless you do a really fancy one. Like those barrel crimp connectors - utter and absolute junk. They make a variation on those which have heat-shrink ends on them, but not just heat-shrink, they actually release a gooey liquid which melts into the splice to keep out moisture. They're expensive though, $1 each or so. Last time I bought a factory harness repair kit, it came with those. Another option is to tin and solder the wire ends, and then shrink wrap it and then wrap with electrical tape. But working in close quarters, that is a major pain, great way to burn other wires, burn carpet, burn yourself. Be sure to re-wrap the harness so wires are not flailing around, that will break them.
Q: i have an old chevy single cab, long bed either a 86 or 87.pretty sure its a k20, and im putting a new system in it,tweeters, mids, and a sub and plus im putting new 2way 4x10s to fill the holes where the stock speakers were. i was just wondering if i need to buy a wiring harness cause i see a lot of people saying you have to buy a new one if your putting a new system in a vehicle
As far as installing a head unit yes you need a wire harness and a dash kit. If you are installing an amp reguardless you will need a wiring kit.
Q: i have a 99 grand caravan with the optional infinity audio 10 speaker sound system. im planning on buying a new stereo deck and im wondering which fit kit and wiring harness i need to adapt it. and name brands and hyperlinks to the product would be very helpful!
Just go to sterio shop and ask for dash kit, wire harnes and atenna adapter.give them your car make and year and they'll give it to you.shuld cost $35 total for all. Brands for it doesn't matter in my opinion, All dash kits are plastic and could somewhat break easy
Q: I have a 93 del sol and i startd to notice that my fuse was blowing alot to my radio.because im not a mechanic i had no idea what was wrong so i just kept replacing the fuse. Until recently when i smelld and then saw smoke coming outta my speaker hole.So i pulled off the paneling and realized that my wires were getting so hot they were burning all the plastic around them, and now they are all meltd together.my car wont start or anything. No lights are coming on when i turn the keyMy question is.How much do you think it will cost to fix this? And does this sound like the wiring harness is fried to you?How much does 1 usually go for at a junk yard??Thank YOU
Replace all damaged wires. It you have a resistance tester (Fluke for instance is top-of-the-line, very good, but cheap knock-offs are available at Radio Shack) then you can check the wires. your wires are too small for the amount of power going to the speakers (did you recently upgrade components?) get a larger gauge (AWG) (smaller number on wire). then you'll have to check all the appropriate fuses - there may be more than one blown. When the wire insulation melted, a short formed over current smoke and other bad stuff. This is all a start. It's hard to say how extensive the damage really is without a knowledgeable electrician on scene. Also, there could be another problem that occurred simultaneously or that could have been masked.
Q: Hi I have a 1987 honda hatchback dx carb. And I bought a d15b2 engine to do the swap but the connections from the d15b2 harness don't plug in with the dashboard connections does anyone know where I can have one made? A good website where they make them? Also if anyone knows something about converting the car to fuel injection it would be helpful thanks in advance
specific. as long as its an OBD0 to OBD0, OBD1 to OBD1, OBD2 to OBD2 and if it Vtec or non Vtec. in case you attempt to swap an OBD1 to OBD2 do no longer artwork, and vise versa, If the two are OBD2 and are the two Vtec. yea that is going to artwork, you will in basic terms have a pair of cord left in case you employ the harness from a a million.8 Vtec.
Q: complete wiring harness for engine lights and dash removal and installation time
In 99% percent of all shops you go to, depending on the the problem of your wiring, they all go by whatever time it takes to remove and install. There may be a actual book time, but most shops don't observe it
Q: can anyone help??? it would be MUCH appreciated
Ok, start with a junk yard. You can get a wiring harness for it there. Sometimes you have to pull it so make sure you have the necessary things for it. Next if you need a straight wiring diagram go to the dealer, they will have to pull it out of the books and copy it for you but usually they will do it if you ask nicely. Good Luck!
