Are all of them wired the same way or does each head unit have it's own wiring design?: They may have identical connections, but that doesn't always mean the wiring is the same. Look at the wiring diagrams (usually available through the manufacturer online) and compare.

Q: I just removed the factory radio out of my 98 Explorer XLT and I am not sure what kind of wiring harness to get. The connectors in the dash are a 21 pin (rectangular) and a 16 pin (square). The 21 pin appears to have everything run to it. The 16 pin has one (only one) gray wire with a black stripe down it. Is this just a ground? I have looked several places and the 21 pin is the only kind that comes in the package.: 98 and up premium sound is what you need go to a place that does installs like Best Buy but no you don't need it to install the radio it has amp turn on and mute in it.

Q: I started up my bike after being dormant for a while and there was a very small amount of smoke coming from around the wiring harness located under the seat. What can I do to fix my bike?: Sounds like you have a wire or two shorting out. Check the harness for nicks, cuts, kinks, or other obvious damage. Perhaps the seat itself has damaged a wire. This is not normal. It won't get any better until you get it fixed. Good luck.

Q: I have a Dual Car stereo model number xdm6825 and I no longer have my old car that it was in but I took the radio but I didnt get all wiring harness out of the old car. Now I cant fiind one anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy one?: you cant get a wirering harness for a dual streo because its some of the cheapest **** you can find and no one carries it. I mean they have that stuff in pep boys for god sakes

Q: I just bought a Metra 80-6502 for my 03 dodge ram 1500. It has 2 ends. One is black and box shaped, the other is white and has a bunch of little boxes. Which end is for what?: Well the white plugs are quick plug ins for the the speakers in the dodge ram. let me guess, the white, gray, grean, and purple wires are the ones that have the white plugs on them right? The black end of the harness is what plugs into the harness on the car. plug it in and make sure it fits. Once it fits disconect it and cut the white plugs off of the other end. Then just wire your new radio up the same way. Just in case you dont know the wireing I will tell you. I dont like to hear people burned a brand new radio or started poping fuses or something. Q: I have a 2002 windstar n i was putting a stereo in it n the harness from the dash shorts out now i have now power to the stereo all the fuses are good what else would be the problem: Any of several things could have happened. There is more than one fuse panel on most newer vehciels, you may be missing the bad fuse. Also a lot of radios are powered thru a body computer, you could have burnt that up. . Could also be as simple as not having the power lead of the radio hooked to a live power wire. Your local library should have All Data or some other auto repair information online . Get a wiring diagram and loscations of fuse panels and power distribution panels and recheck everything
