Q: i changed the motor in my saturn and cant remember which wire goes where also shor cuts for reconnecting everything
This may sound like a daunting problem but don't be afraid it is not that bad.Wiring looms are very well engineered and they make an effort to make them idiot proof. Just lay out the wire bundles as close to where they belong as you can remember the connectors will be somewhere near the components they belong to. The ends of the connectors are all different you usually cannot plug them into the incorrect part just keep plugging them in until you run out of connectors. There may be one or two you cant figure out but their function will usually become obvious when you try to start car and something doesn't work or a light comes on. Good luck.
Q: I have wire harness for an ICM. This is not the original engine in the car (someone put a late 70s model 350 into this 87 Camaro). So, there are two wires going to this ICM, while the port on the ICM is 4 port (so 4 wires on the harness). All wires are white. Does anyone know of a diagram on the web that can help me determine what each of these wires are so I can connect the proper ones, and cap the other two?
The ICM on the early model would be in the distributor and the 87 model would be by the throttle body, so they would not be compatible at all but the ignition system for the early 350 would self contained and easy to hook up without that harness it just needs a hot wire.
Q: I got this little beauty for a wedding present, the only problem is it doesn't start and we believe it just needs re-wired. So I'm looking online to find some harnesses and am having issues finding 1976. My question is what year span is interchangeable with the '76 cb750? I've already been told it isn't worth it but I like the bike so as long as it's not super expensive I'm gonna do it. Thanks for the help!
the main inexpensive option to an oem harness basically may well be making your guy or woman. As a carburated kind, there is not all that plenty to it. No pc bits, or different fancy stuff that choose specific wiring or connectors.
Q: Can the wiring harnesses for car stereos be re-used becuase i dont feel like buying a new one?
yes they can it just depends on the condition of the harness. if the wires are cut short or they are coming out of the harness. other than that yes you can
Q: I have a 92 nissan maxima and i had bought a new cd player to replace the stock one. A friend said he could do it, but he cut the main wire harness and hooked up everything wrong. Fuses started shorting out then my battery died. I dont want to jump it because the wires arent right and i dont want to do more damage. I need someone to fix it, but im not sure what i can and cant do.what if i unwired it all? and how much do you think itll cost for me to have someone fix all that?
Try again with a tester (voltmeter or test light) On the older Japanese cars turn the parking lights on when testing. They do some weird oddball thing when the lights are on. I've been where your at many years ago.
Q: I am trying to install a double din stereo in my 08 impala and i cant find the right wire harness to fit in

Q: I just bought my girlfriend an Alpine CD player. She already has a factory CD player and radio in her car but she wanted a new CD player. Best Buy told me that the wiring harness for the new GM vechicles were 125$ because of door chimes. I have bought many wiring harness' and they have never been more then 20$. Is best buy just trying to make me buy top of the line?
nope. its true dude. for gm's past 2000 it ranges from $85 to $150 for a wire harness. from 2006 and up the harness also controls parking assist, heated seats, climate control fan, warning chimes. for the alero it will stop rigning when she leaves her keys in the car and stops ringing when she leaves the lights on. ive heard it can cause airbags to not deploy, check engine lights to turn on. it depends on the particular car. but it is needed. another reason being there is no turn on for the radio, it is controlled through data. the $125 part receives the data and turns the radio on or off.
Q: I just bought a Metra 80-6502 for my 03 dodge ram 1500. It has 2 ends. One is black and box shaped, the other is white and has a bunch of little boxes. Which end is for what?
Well the white plugs are quick plug ins for the the speakers in the dodge ram. let me guess, the white, gray, grean, and purple wires are the ones that have the white plugs on them right? The black end of the harness is what plugs into the harness on the car. plug it in and make sure it fits. Once it fits disconect it and cut the white plugs off of the other end. Then just wire your new radio up the same way. Just in case you dont know the wireing I will tell you. I dont like to hear people burned a brand new radio or started poping fuses or something. Q: I have a 1987 toyota pickup and When I tried following the color-code diagrahm I found online I crossed two wires and had a major melt down. I took a few hours and seperated all the witres that were melted together, and now I don't have a cig lighter or center clock. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to hook my CD player up to the ignition system, unless someone knows something I don' (pretty likely in this field). If I can't do it that way, is there a way to wire it straight to something else that is always on when the truck is running and off when it is off, or should I run it straight from the battery? Also, what would be the proper way of doing that? Thanks for looking and hopefully you can give me advice, or direct me to someone who can.
take the red wire ( usually it,s the hot wire ) and run it to a hot source like the battery then run the black wire to the grounds somewhere. now just run the ground and hot wires from the right speaker to the radio wires and touch them until the right speaker plays and do the same for the left speaker.
Q: I am split between trying to restore the set i have and putting in a new one. I bought the bike off a guy but didn't know they butchered the wiring. Went with no instrument cluster, no fuse box, no turn signals, horn, headlight, tail light, starter button. All these wires were cut off short and re-routed to somehow make it work ( I still don't see how it ever did) so which way is easier. I will have the clymers manual for it very soon, but thought Id ask here if its worth 30 bucks and what all comes in it. Is it ALL the wires for the entire bike? is it just a main few and which ones? Please help
If you can you should try and find a motorcycle junkyard near your home. Go there and find your bike, take lots of pictures of the wiring harness as it is on the bike, and then carefully take it all off the donor bike and put it on yours. Not only will it be a lot cheaper than buying the hardware new, but you get the learning experience you will need to install it on your bike.
