Q: Pump frequent start will reduce the service life, I ask what kind of frequency is called frequent start?
How to define this frequently, this can only say, for example, the life of the switch is 60 thousand times, once every hour you move, it can be used for a long time, and that if you move one minute, it would not necessarily for long.Pumps frequently start the first self wear problems, as well as the impact on the pipe network, especially the soft connections.Water pump if the frequency of use or time, it is recommended to adopt: variable frequency constant pressure control.
Q: it is a mazda b3000 pick up v6,it is coming from behind water pump, but it is not all the time, i would think that if pump is going it would be all the time, but it will go bone dry for a few dayswhen it does leak it leaves about an 8 inch spot on the driveway, temp gauge goes to its regular spot and does not move, any suggestions would be helpful, thanks
stop feeding the neiborhood cats antifreeze thats why there looking mangey look let the car warm up or top it off and come back you have to figure when it leaks dont check it when its hot have it replaced dont overlook the obvious dont work with out jack stands dont operate on just a jack and wear your safty glasses check the chilsons website use metric
Q: We lost power during the hurricane, we have well water. the power went out and we lost water also, what are the procedures to bleed and restart a goulds pumps c48a93a06 water pump?
1. you are going to need at least a couple gallons of water in a bucket to re-prime. 2. look for a plug at the top of the pump and remove it. 3. pour water into the plug opening, filling up the pump as much as you can. 4. put plug back in so at least one thread is grabbing. by doing this it will allow air to escape and won't be spraying water everywhere. it is also a good idea to keep your hand on the plug. 5. turn on electricity to pump. 6. when you start to notice pressure re-gaining tighten up the plug so it does not drip. It is also a good idea to have an outside tap on to get air out of the lines. Another thing is, it is a good idea to shut off water to toilets and washing machines before re-starting pump because small debris have a habit of clogging them up. When your pressure is back, drain your toilet and cold water line to your washing machine, flushing all the stuff out until you see nice clear water. Hope I helped and good luck.
Q: looking for ideas and info to build a simple and rustic wind powered pump for a backyard pond. I don't want to use any elecricity and I would like to create something that once its made, will be trouble free and simplistic in operation. I esp. want info regarding the vane design and the method of drawing the water. I would appreciate any web sites, but I don't want to buy any pre-designed thing or plans.
My Grandpa could show you one that was installed in front of his house about 90 years ago. Check out a farm ranch supply store. Those guys are freakin geniuses.
Q: I have a 1997 mercedes 320e and it is leaking very bad. I need a temporary fix for the water pump, so that I can take it to the repair shop that is 10 min. away.
You can't fix the water pump temporarily, but what you can do is store a lot of extra water in your car and stop to refill the radiator as needed. If the leak isn't too bad, you can probably make it ten minutes away without having to refill at all. If it's a bad leak, you may need quite a bit of water. I have done this before and it worked pretty well for me. Good luck!
Q: The water pump was just put on by the previous owner! It was in water! So what could cause this to happen? Is it bad? Should I wait for water to pump up to it? Or should I just put a new one on?
Read my answer from your other question !
Q: I have a 1990 js550 that i picked up for a project. When in the water it overheats and minimal water comes out the tell tail. When on the tap it runs fine no overheating, so i disconnected the hose from the back of the ski where it sucks the water in and ran a garden hose directly to it. And the ski ran fine.I also cleaned all the tubes out with air.I am not getting enough water flow through the ski when it is in the water. Is there a water pump inside the motor? There is definitely no blockages, there is just no enough pressure to keep it cool. Thanks
Hey Sam, It's Jeff again. I used to own a stand-up ski a while back, and I had the same problem. The water to the motor comes from the jet pump, the more RPM, the more pressure, There should be enough pressure to keep the motor cool at low RPM, but if not then there are a couple of things to check. Since you already eliminated a blockage in the motor buy disconnecting the pickup, first check the actual pickup for a restriction from the entrance to the connection you took the hose off at. If that's OK, then the clearance in the jet pump itself could be excessive. A ski with a lot of hours in sandy water can have pump wear that isn't really noticeable when cruising, you might notice it a little under heavy acceleration when leaving the no wake zone. Under idle there just isn't enough pressure to cool the motor. You can have it fixed for not to much, a little hard to do yourself. To save a planned day on the lake you can always get a cheep inline electric water pump. My last thought though, since your other question was about a slow cranking starter, I'd pull the plugs and spin it over to see if it spits water out the cylinders. It doesn't hurt just to eliminate a blown head gasket. As a side note, I like them a lot better then the big sit-down style, they're much more free then the bigger ones. It's like the difference between a motorcycle and a car. If you want to do the stuff the bigger ones do, buy a boat.
Q: How do you remove the water pump from bmw m42 engine?
Remove fan from pulley (usually using a big special open end wrench) turning clockwise with you in front of the car/engine. Loosen bolts holding pulley to water pump (but do not remove bolts and pulley yet). Adjust fan belt tensioner to remove alternator belt (there is a plastic cover in the middle of the tensioner pulley under which is a bolt usually torx 50 with which you can adjust the pulley pulling clockwise/to the right). Proceed to remove bolts and pulley from water pump. Remove bolts from water pump. Put 2 screws into the empty/previously unused holes in the sides of the water pump to pull it out. Remove and replace water pump. Refill with coolant. Bleed cooling system to remove air from the system.
Q: I am creating a project where I must pump water to a helmet. If you have any ideas, thoughts, solutions, diagrams, etc. please? thanks
your question is not clear, do you need to build the pump from scratch or you should find one? what is the water flow rate? how high the water need to go? what the helmet has to do with the problem? simplest solution will be to go to the store and buy small hand pump (for fuel).
Q: 3 months ago I had to replace the water pump on my Jeep (for $600!!!). Now I have leaking again and they are telling me that I need a new radiator. I'm wondering how did they know I needed a water pump last time (it was leaking just like now) and not a new radiator like they're saying this time? I know nothing about anything, and I feel like I'm not informed enough to know what they're really doing. Is this common?
Could be both. The water pump may have been leaking. Did the leak stop after the work was done? If so then it was leaking. The radiator may just have lived out it's life. Corrosion will eventually cause these types of things. I don't know where you're located but $600 for a water pump is a rip off. Maybe you went to the dealer? If it's not under a warranty and you're not buying a new one the jeep does not belong at the dealership. I recently did my water pump on my 94. $100 including new hoses and about 45 minutes. So even parts mark up and $60 labor should have been about $210 or so. For the radiator they are about $150 again depending on where you are. See if you can get a 3 core. More cooling capacity almost the same price. If you're around Maryland e-mail me and I can help you do it yourself.
