- Q:model # gg9002b serial # 65x626092 what year is it and what is the water pump number
- you okorder /
- Q:i am not sure whether the water pump is bad or how much water should come out of exhaust.
- It may not be your water pump at all. It could be a blown head gasket or a cracked block. Do you drive it very much? If you do and it doesn't totally overheat, it isn't your water pump. Water pumps usually tend to make a lot of noise when they go bad. Depending on the temperature of the air where you live, I would say don't worry too much about white clouds coming out of your exhaust. You do notice I said white? Condensation in an exhaust pipe is normal. Check the little stuff first. Check your thermostat and radiator cap first. Those are inexpensive. Have your radiator checked at the local Mom and Pop radiator shop where they will also check your hoses and engine oil, to see if it looks like mud. That will tell you if you have a cracked block. Total overheating can be a blown head gasket which is expensive because of labor. The parts cost is minimal, it is just a total b i t c h because you have to get the whole top of the motor off. Have your freeze plugs checked too and if they are plastic, have them replaced with brass ones. It is a very old vehicle and you are going to be looking at some money to fix things. I hope I helped, although you didn't tell me the name of the vehicle. That would help a bit more and if you know it is the water pump, go get a new one!!!!!!! And check your fan belts too while you're at it. Good luck! :) I'm just a dumb lady...lol!
- Q:About how to calculate the pump installation height?
- Best to find water pump manufacturers, their own bad count. Sometimes is not necessarily correct, which is related to some parameters of the pump itself, with bad cavitation
- Q:My car overheats in hot temperatures I have try everything except replacing the water pump and radiator how can I tell when its time to change each one and is it a do-it-yourself job
- Generally you don't need to replace a radiator unless water is running out of it. As for the water pump, if it was going bad your car would overheat when it was parked and running. Also it really isn't a do it yourself project, that is something you are better off paying a mechanic to do.
- Q:I'm not too familiar with computerized cars, just wondering if the water pump going out would cause the car not to start?
- Drain coolant, would would desire to eliminate coolant reservoir, next pull belt tensoner back and eliminate belt remembering the way its routed. next eliminate the bolts on w-pump pulley eliminate outer ring of bolts on pump. sparkling gasket setting up new one ,.bleed air from equipment to pevent overheat.desire that's stable.
- Q:I have a 1990 js550 that i picked up for a project. When in the water it overheats and minimal water comes out the tell tail. When on the tap it runs fine no overheating, so i disconnected the hose from the back of the ski where it sucks the water in and ran a garden hose directly to it. And the ski ran fine.I also cleaned all the tubes out with air.I am not getting enough water flow through the ski when it is in the water. Is there a water pump inside the motor? There is definitely no blockages, there is just no enough pressure to keep it cool. Thanks
- Hey Sam, It's Jeff again. I used to own a stand-up ski a while back, and I had the same problem. The water to the motor comes from the jet pump, the more RPM, the more pressure, There should be enough pressure to keep the motor cool at low RPM, but if not then there are a couple of things to check. Since you already eliminated a blockage in the motor buy disconnecting the pickup, first check the actual pickup for a restriction from the entrance to the connection you took the hose off at. If that's OK, then the clearance in the jet pump itself could be excessive. A ski with a lot of hours in sandy water can have pump wear that isn't really noticeable when cruising, you might notice it a little under heavy acceleration when leaving the no wake zone. Under idle there just isn't enough pressure to cool the motor. You can have it fixed for not to much, a little hard to do yourself. To save a planned day on the lake you can always get a cheep inline electric water pump. My last thought though, since your other question was about a slow cranking starter, I'd pull the plugs and spin it over to see if it spits water out the cylinders. It doesn't hurt just to eliminate a blown head gasket. As a side note, I like them a lot better then the big sit-down style, they're much more free then the bigger ones. It's like the difference between a motorcycle and a car. If you want to do the stuff the bigger ones do, buy a boat.
- Q:What is the defection of water pump
- Anti water hammer phenomenon that is usually said, it is in the high pressure water pump suddenly stops working, the height would hit back phenomenon called defectionThis situation generally occurs in the water pump outlet does not install a check valve, the valve with a check valve has a sound, but the check valve can be a good protection of water pump
- Q:water pump went out how do we find it where would it be located?
- On okorder /... When you're filling up the coolant, you need to bleed the system to get the air out. 2 bleeders, one right around the corner from the pump, and another back by the Thermostat housing. The 3.1L V6 in your Malibu doesn't use a timing belt, but a chain. Just take the serpentine belt off, take the pulley off, and there's the pump. 4 bolts for the pulley I think, and 5 for the pump. Easiest to loosen the pulley bolts, then do the final tighten later, while the belt is still on. Torque the Water pump bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm), and the pulley bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm)
- Q:Is it ok to drive a car with a bad water pump?
- You will blow your head gasket. The water pump is designed to keep your engine cool by pumping water thru channels in your engine block and without it it will not take long for your engine to overheat. You run the risk of completely destroying your motor. Water pumps are a farely inexpensive part 60-150 bucks and are pretty easy to replace in about 1 hour. as long as your not driving a BMW or something like that.
- Q:We have fresh running water..no well... We just want to install it on our playground for the kids to experience a manual water pump. Can it be attached to running water? Do I need a tank? Help! Thank YOU!
- You can bury a tank, not metal or you willl be pumping rust. I would use fiber glass totally enclosed except for a fill hole which you can fill with a hose. Or run pvc to a water supply with a valve, cover it with planking and set up the pump over the planking. Some farm and feed supplies may have a lot of this.
