Q: I have a 5spd integra (98), I might be getting an excellent deal on an automatic shell thats in mint condition (way better condition then mine) I was wondering if i did the auto to manual swap if I could just swap my manual harness into the auto instead of cutting the auto harness. I've looked online and I haven't read much, if any, information on this.
Well it depends on the year of the shell. If it's 95 or newer, than it's obd II, same as your 98. So you should be able to swap your 5 speed harness, and then you also need to use the 5 spd ecu.
Q: I took out the original stereo, which would power on but get only static. It had no display, which I though was just do to the age of the stereo. I cut the stock harness because I could not find any matching ones at the time (found one now, but too late). I have tried installing 2 different stereos. Both will power on, but neither will actually power up. What I mean, is that there is power coming through (you can load and unload a CD and the red light flashes when the head unit is off) but when the head unit is on, it doesn't display anything or actually let you use any functions (seeming like it has no power). It has done this with both stereos, so I'm guessing it's something with the car's wiring. Is it a bad fuse even though it is getting power? A bad wire (power wire)? With the new stereo, when you first turn the key, the display will illuminate for a split second, then nothing, just the limited power like before. The car is a 1987 Caddilac Brougham (like Fleetwood). Thanks.
sounds like the constant power( the yellow wire) is getting power hook both of your power wires together and turn the switch on and see if you get everything then, if so find a constantly on power wire for the yellow and connect it there and leave the red wire on switched power
Q: I have a 93 del sol and i startd to notice that my fuse was blowing alot to my radio.because im not a mechanic i had no idea what was wrong so i just kept replacing the fuse. Until recently when i smelld and then saw smoke coming outta my speaker hole.So i pulled off the paneling and realized that my wires were getting so hot they were burning all the plastic around them, and now they are all meltd together.my car wont start or anything. No lights are coming on when i turn the keyMy question is.How much do you think it will cost to fix this? And does this sound like the wiring harness is fried to you?How much does 1 usually go for at a junk yard??Thank YOU
The cost to replace the wiring harness will more than likely exceed the value of this car. Sorry. You may find one at a salvage yard. However it will require lots of labor to replace. The going rate for a mechanic is about $100 per hour. I would expect this to take up to 30 hours to replace. This is because of the dis-assembly and reassembly required to remove and install a new wiring harness. The mechanic may get by for less if he can only replace the damaged section of the wiring harness. However it sounds like the damage is extensive. Also, who knows what electronic components were damaged when the wiring harness burned. You may also be looking at replacing the engine management computer, radio, heater / AC controls, etc.
Q: I need help with the red and yellow wires. Hooked everything up color to color, but my stereo didn't work just when I push eject on the cd player but nothing else. And then I hooked up all of the red, and the yellow wires, and that made it work, but the radio has to be turned on and off manually. It won't work together when I turn off /on the ignition, and acc positions. What am I doing wrong? I would love for some one to give me a detailed description or layout of the wires that should go together I have a 2002 chevy impala with inactive onstar I have the wire harness and the antenna adapter I do have an amp I'm pretty sure it's that silver box next to the speakers in the roof of the trunk. Please help
did you get a after market wiring harness for your car it is easier to hook up

Q: I bought the car as a repo, and whoever had the car before me cut it out of the dash while installing a new stereo. Im pretty sure they cut out the wire for the heater controls light too. I would think they are supposed to light up too. The car is a 2001 Ford Taurus Sedan. I would also like to find a pdf file perhaps, on the diagram for the wiring. If you could answer these, I would really appreciate it thanks.
Your best bet to piece the wiring harness back together is to hit a junk yard. Find one that is wrecked. I would almost guarantee that the wiring will be good. As long as the thing didn't catch fire or anything. The wiring diagram will will probably be more trouble to find than the parts. I don't think ford even puts them in their service manuals.
Q: I have a 95' Silverado K1500 (4x4) with a 4L60-E transmission and 5.7L engine that is in need of a wiring harness. I have quite a bit of blood, sweat, and tears tied into it (along with money) and I'm not going to give up on it. Besides, it's my only hope for getting back and forth to school. I'm thinking about getting a C1500 for a parts truck. The problem is that it has the 4.3L V6. If I use the E.C.M. from my truck, will the harness work?
no man unfortunately it wont work all the sensors the ecm plugs throttle body plugs anything else u try to switch over is gonna be different. you'd be better off goin to painless wiring online or something like that google it u can find what u need for farely inexpensive. plug n play makes one also kinda costly but there easy work great. good luck
Q: I have a Dual xdvd8265 and i wrecked the first car it was it. I am finally getting around to putting it in my new car and realized I forgot to get the wiring harness that came with the stereo. I have a wiring harness adaptor that lets me hook it to my Toyota but the actual harness that came with the stereo and plugs in the back is missing. I have looked for it but I haven't had any luck. Any help on where I can get one or anything would be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot.

Q: I need to know where the wiring harness comes from for the front radar on a BMW E90 (3-series) vehicle equipped with the 'Active Cruise Control' (ie. ACC) option. Please link to pics of where the harness connects to the radar and where the harness joins the main wiring harness for the vehicle. Thanks.
What you need is ALLDATA(online service manual). This will have the wiring harness diagram that you need. There is even a cannon plug connector diagram that can tell you which wires go where. It's about thirty bucks a year per car, but is worth it for all the information that it contains.
