Q: I have a 1994 Geo Tracker. I have a AIWA CTX409 (is ISO/DIN compliant and conform to the ISO Wire Color Code standard if that makes a difference)head unit in. I want to put a Kenwood KDC-MPV619 in. Do I need to get a new reciever wire harness or would the old one be ok?? I don't know much about the car audio and such so annnny help would be greatly appreciated :).
If an adapting wire harness was used to install the Aiwa, you can cut away the part of the harness that plugged into the back of the Aiwa radio and crimp or solder the Kenwood on instead. No need to purchase another harness; the wire colors should be the same.
Q: 2 questions; first where can i find a engine wiring harness for a i6 4.2L 96 Automatic XJ, second how hard is it to swap one of these out? I looked on OKorder, they do not have my year or anything close to it. also i googled itcant seem to find anywhere. Thanks!

Q: i have looked everywhere and i cant find a stereo wiring harness for my 02 cavalier. the latest model they have a harness for is a 99. any idea why and where i can find one?
There there, its a very common model. Search Metra, they are the best out there for harnesses and dash kits.
Q: Hi, I am planning to install a newer car deck/head unit for my 1990 nissan 240sx, it already has a older panasonic deck. So when I took a look at the wiring harness I realized that from the deck to the after market harness there exists a black ground wire, and from the after market harness to the factory harness there does not exist a black ground wire, this means that the after market black ground wire is not really connected to anything through the factory harness, the older deck works fine. I was wondering when I install my newer deck, do I need that black ground wire, will it cause any problems if i keep it like that?Thank you.
Yes it will need a ground, you can hook a wire to anything solid metal under the dash for ground. Also the reason it works is because they are naturally grounded through the antenna plug.
Q: Basically over about a four month period the radio/cd player in my truck was going on and off. It would work sometimes randomly, but now it is completely dead. I changed all the fuses and that isn't where the issue is. I have the original radio and I don't really want to replace it. I feel like if the fault were in the radio itself, it would have simply gone dead and not worked. I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or if anyone has any advice about what the cause could be? The truck itself is 17 years old, so it's a possibility that over time a wire came loose, or even for the radio to die. It came with a 5 cd changer that is in the cab, and I noticed at the very beginning before it starting cutting on and off that it would say that it couldn't read cd's. That was probably a few days prior, and then when the radio did actually work, the same problem persisted. What do you think the problem is?
You answered your question, you have a 17 year old electronic device, in probably in the worst environment ever. The heat/cold, vibrations, everything included in a vehicle's use, are the enemy of electronics. The good part is, even with an older vehicle, you can still add an aftermarket radio, and still take it with you when you get a new vehicle. Good Luck!!
Q: how to install trailer hitch & wiring harness on 05-10 grand cherokee larado?
should be pretty much pre-wired, but make sure you follow installation instructions to make for a safe hookup.
Q: 04 jeep rubicon, this harness is located beside the battery , has 1 red and 1 blk heavy size wire, looks like may have hooked to the neg bat and pos alt bolt, it runs down to the transfer case some where , not sure of its purpose ,afraid to hook up until find out what it does, any one with a wrangler? , need answer bad ,just bought jeep ,a recent clutch was installed
we use 6/0 and bigger wires for acc such as light bar, tow packages and the like. if its unpluged the acc might have been removed at trade in. if you plug it in it might noy have a in line fuse and you could start a fire and or short your electrical system and thats expensive!!
Q: I have a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD and I want to know if the same wiring harness will work with any of the AVIC series OR do I need get a new harness?
see if all the colors match, a wiring harness is only like 15 bucks anyway just stop bein cheap
Q: I am wanting to buy a harness for my vehicle to install a system in it. When I am researching the harness options, they all say not for premium systems. My vehicle has a stock amp in it, is that what it is talking about?
Possibly--it depends on the vehicle. For example, most Chrysler Infinity systems will work fine with a standard wire harness, even though it says not for premium systems. Many GM vehicles have factory amps, but they're designed for use with a standard head unit, so they'll work fine with an after-market head unit using a standard harness. On the other hand, most Bose and JBL systems use a low-level output from the head unit to the stock amp(s), so a standard harness wouldn't work as well unless you used it with a premium sound adapter module. I'm pretty sure the standard harness will work for you Santa Fe's Monsoon system. You'll have to make sure to connect the wire in the harness that activates the factory amplifier.
Q: Hey there I was putting all the wires together and I ran into a couple of issues. The wires I have left from the Toyota harness end is Blue- Power AntennaBlack- Chassis Ground. (With this one I used a bypass system, and I was wondering if I need to connect this one to the body or can it just capped off? From the radios end I have a couple other wires sticking out. Violet/white- Of the two lead wires connected to the back lamp, connect the one in which the voltage changes when the gear shift is in reverse position. lt;--- I do not understand where to connect this. If someone could go into detail that would be great! even pictures :DYellow/black- If you use an equipment with mute function, wire this lead to the Audio Mute lead on that equipment. If not, keep the audio mute lead free of any connections. lt;--- do I just cap this one?The rest was easy thanks for the help!!!
The wiring harness is made by three company's and have three different numbers. It is made by metra and the number is 70-1761. It is made by American Internation and the number is TWH-950 or TWH-951. It is also made by scosche and the number is TA02B
