Q:I am totally clueless to this stuff. I want to get a wiring harness that will fit a Pioneer single DIN head unit and will also clip into my 2012 Silverado without having to cut any wires. Help?: Just go to a car audio store and ask for 2012 chevy silverado wire harness($10-$15).it clicks in to the part that was connected with the stalk sterio. They shuld be the same color as the ones on back of your new sterio,just match em and there u go!.you'll need a dash kit as well

Q:I have a Dual xdvd8265 and i wrecked the first car it was it. I am finally getting around to putting it in my new car and realized I forgot to get the wiring harness that came with the stereo. I have a wiring harness adaptor that lets me hook it to my Toyota but the actual harness that came with the stereo and plugs in the back is missing. I have looked for it but I haven't had any luck. Q:I have a 1994 Acura Integra LS manual transmission and the wire harness is bad, my friend has a 1992 Acura Integra LS also with a manual transmission and he has the wire harness for it still. Would it be compatible with my car?: Maybe. The 1992 is second generation while the 1994 is third generation. However, if the connectors are the same there is still a good chance they are compatible. EDIT - you can check out the part numbers for the exact harness in the source. If they are the same part number you are in if not, I doubt the store would stock two different part numbers of the same thing.

Q:i have an 89 s10 blazer and i am planning to drop in a 305 from a camaro and i am wondering where to get a wiring harness??? please help me out i need to find out: Thats a hard project, but you can use the factory harness from the camaro for engine management or use an aftermarket ecu ontroller for the engine, which will be harder to find and very pricy.

Q:Does it damage the engine, alternator and battery?: When a rookie get involved in car maintenance, then there starts the problem. Eg.To remove the water pump the rookie would not have proper tools . To swap a alternator the rookie would not disconnect the battery, so while connecting the cables should short the fuse. Then the rookie would like the know why it happened.

Q:I just paid 400 dollars to have the coils and the spark plugs replaced. Come to find out it was actually the pcm wire harness that needed to be replaced. Apparently the current isnt completly getting through and the car bucks and almost stalls while i am driving. The ford dealership quoted me at 1300 dollars. Im hoping to do it myself. The cables are bound together by clamps, cable ties, cable lacing, sleeves, electrical tape, conduit, a weave of extruded string, or a combination thereof. Commonly used in automobiles, as well as construction machinery, modern-day cable harnesses provide several advantages over loose wires and cables. For example, many aircraft, automobiles and spacecraft contain many masses of wires which would stretch over several kilometres if fully extended. By binding the many wires and cables into a cable harness, the wires and cables can be better secured against the adverse effects of vibrations, abrasions, and moisture. Q:I have a 2002 Monte Carlo and I bought a 6 touch screen double din deck for it. I also bought a wiring harness (from OKorder because it was 15 bucks instead of 120) but it hasnt come yet. I'm very impatient, and I know that if I just splice all the wires I can install the deck without a wiring harness. Is there any downsides or risks to doing this?: a wiring harness simplifies the installation. But it offers no advantages to performance or safety. Just make sure you don't cross the hot and ground wires, you'll be fine.

Q:I have a 5spd integra (98), I might be getting an excellent deal on an automatic shell thats in mint condition (way better condition then mine) I was wondering if i did the auto to manual swap if I could just swap my manual harness into the auto instead of cutting the auto harness. I've looked online and I haven't read much, if any, information on this.: You should be able to swap out the wiring harness without a problem. Might be a bit of a headache but be sure to take your time and mark where everything goes. Take pictures if you can and use masking tape [folded over the wire and onto itself] to mark the various connectors.
