- Q: .as a windshield wiper?
- Check. In winter however, I use my credit card as an ice scraper.
- Q: Dealers are charging $60.00 for wipers, and I think it's highway robbery, I've always changed my own, and bought from AutoZone or any corner auto store.
- Neutral is not Negative. you can grab neutral lines wont get electrocuted, but in negative you sure will. Common is the combining terminal in my 4years in EEE never heard anything called Hot in departmental topics.
- Q: Single centered windshield wiper?
- That CRX actually has a stock wiper. It was just taken off and put on the wiper motor splines in a different position. But this is not safe because it does not clear the water where the drivers field of vision is.
- Q: I drive a 2007 Gmc Sierra. I bought some wiper blade refills, but I can‘t seem to get my old ones out. I tried pulling off the end caps, but I can‘t seem to remove them. How do I fix this?
- see the tab on the end of the wiper blade? squeeze the tab and pull on it.
- Q: I know it's probably super easy I just usually have the auto place do it for me. I'd like to know how to do it myself if the need arises. Thanx!
- There is probably a clip/ tab underneath the wiper that you hold down while sliding the entire assembly toward the windshield. Get cheap replacements at walmart or auto parts store (they have a computer on the shelf that tells you the sizes you need for your particular make and model). very easy and cheap replacement. you simply slide the wiper back in the same way until it clicks. make sure to buy the replacements first so you can get a better sense for how to slide the blades back on. good luck
- Q: My 1999 Toyota Tacoma only has 2 windshield wiper speed settings: fast and faster - no delay setting. I can also bump the lever up for one swish. Living near Seattle I often deal with that constant, fine drizzle that doesn‘t call for a fast wiper speed, and I often find I have to bump the lever up for a swish every 15-30 seconds. Most cars come with a delay setting built-in, but not this one for some reason. Can the settings on my wipers be changed so I have a delay setting?
- I'm sure intermittent wipers were offered as an option on 1999 Toyota pickups. Have you thought about asking the dealer? Also, JC Whitney offers intermittent wiper switches for cars without it. I've seen these switches and have been tempted to install one on my 1972 El Camino SS, but can't seem to get around to it. Ask the dealer.
- Q: 1998 GMC K1500Last winter, a block of ice broke loose and slid down from the roof of my truck. It wedged under the driver‘s side wiper arm. Now that arm sits too tall, and the passenger side sits too low. Is there an external adjustment to this? The splines have a keyway, so it ain‘t as simple as just picking up the arms and repositioning them. The shop manual skips this topic entirely. Surfing on Google has yielded generic fixes that don‘t really seem to apply to my truck. So I figured I‘d ask a yankee. You guys deal with this every winter, right? What‘s the quick easy fix? Or am I stuck with pulling the cowling off, and realigning these things from underneath?
- Not familiar with how your truck is designed but typically both wipers are controlled by a mechanical linkage from the electric wiper motor, unless it is vacuum operated. Something (ice) has bent that linkage. I don't think it is a stripped spline or you would have mentioned that they don't work any more. I think you're going to have to get to wherever the linkage is and unbend it. So wait. does this mean the Mexicans are right to put a hood over the windshield and paint a rooster on the drivers door?
- Q: I‘m currently driving a piece of **** 1994 Ford Taurus. The windshield wipers work when they are on, but when you turn them to the off position, they come back up and stop in my field of vision. Not too mechanically inclined.Any suggestions?
- Turn them on right before they go down so they will stop where they're supposed to, LOL
- Q: I have an 89 GMC and the wipers don‘t work. I‘ve already checked the fuses, they‘re fine. Anything else I can try?
- you ruled out the potential source. do this disconnect the wipers from the motor to rule out binding interior the wiper hands. If wiper hands have loose play it sounds to me such as you have a overheating motor or the circuit board interior the motor for the washers and motor is undesirable.
- Q: I was trying to replace my windshield wipers (I have an 06‘ Nissan Altima) and when I lifted them up and pressed down on the little clip so I can slide it out, it snapped. I cant seem to remove it so I was wondering If there is any other way for me to replace it?
- pull up on the wiper blade and take a small screwdriver and slide the clip away from the shaft and lift the wiper arm off the shaft ! since the clip is broke you probably have to get another wiper arm !
