Q: I am sort of a back yard mechanic but this one has stumped me good.My truck is a 2002 Dodge Diesel 2500 4X4 and the windshield wipers quit about a month ago, they wont do anything and I cant figure it out, so far I have;checked the fuse, swapped out the relay, bought a new motor-still didnt work, took it back, bought the wiper switch that goes on the column- still dont work, too that back!!!I am at my wits end, Please Help!!!any questions I will watch and repost if necessary. Thanks
Bad earth connection !!!!!!! Put on a temporary earth wire to check it out !!
Q: im not really sure the best way to explain this but ill try anyways. the windshield wipers on my jetta work fine. a little slow for my liking but. when i push the stock up 1 click it runs one cycle and thats it. there is an adjustment piece on top of the stock for speed. if i move that from the slowest to the fastest it will run one cycle again then stop. any ideas why it would do that? when they are running at half or full speed they work fine. its just the first slowest cycle that doesnt work. i know thats a lot of info but any help would be great. thanks!
I used to have the same one and I recently upgraded to the 2012 Jetta. As well as the 2000 Jetta and the first setting on the wiper goes, that stock that controls it basis it on the speed of your vehicle also
Q: They dont work! The switch doesnt work. So i was wondering how much it would cost to fix them? I wana get an idea so i dont get ripped off. Its a 98‘ chevy S10
1. Check the fuse box first. 2. It might also be the wiper delay circuitry. There was a recall on this part. May be fixed free by dealer. You can call a dealer with you VIN number and see if your truck has been repaired yet or not or if it is even subject to the recall 3. The wiper motor is not that expensive 69.95 but the labo rmight be depending where you go. Good luck
Q: Honda civic windshield wipers work, windshield fluid full BUT NO FLUID comes out any answers Thax J
2002 Honda Civic Windshield
Q: wipers don‘t workneed inspection sticker
Inspection for where? If its a collector you dont need them!
Q: I have a 1998 Nissan Altima. Recently the Windshield wiper stick on the inside of the car came out of the socket. I really need it fixed and don‘t have the money to do that. Can anyone please help me? I would appreciate it sooo much. Thanks!!
if the rod came off the motor then just pop it back on.
Q: okay i just a nice honda civic which was previously used for drag, so they got rid of the whole windshield wiper system. where can i go to to buy/install it. i don‘t much about that part of cars. maybe the wires and motor are still intact but i‘m not sure.
I'd recommend taking it to a garage and getting a quote for price and maybe difficulty. Sometimes is it's easy to do they'll tell you how to do it yourself. Windshield wipers are something you don't want to mess up though because your life could depend on it. You can get parts from advance auto or pepboys.
Q: 1999 Ford Taurus. My windshield wipers work on high only.not on low or any intermittent level. If I turn them down from high, they stop right where they are. Any ideas??? Thanks
Cuz you bought a ford !!!!! That is why , They are nothing but trouble and money pits . At one time that is all i would buy , but i grew up and got real with my next car . Never again will i buy a Ford . Oh i had a Taurus as well , Then trade it in for a Windstar !!!!! That was a money pit and all were bought new .
Q: The other day it snowed, and I tried to use my wipers to get the snow off. They didn‘t move, and now they just won‘t come on at all. It sounds like the motor is trying to turn them, but they won‘t move an inch. My father told me about a gear that could possibly be stripped if they were frozen and I tried to use them. Any ideas? And if it is the gears inside the wiper, how much would they cost to fix?
It sounds like you tore up the wiper transmission. The motor likely is still good. OK This is an easy fix for a Do-It-Your-Self project. Step1. Check the local salvage yards for a used Wiper transmission. Should cost about $40.00. Step 2. You need to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Step 3. Remove the wiper arms. I think the nuts that hold them on are 12mm or 14mm when you get the nuts off, bring the wiper arms into the position like you would do when changing the wiper blade. Rock the bottom of the arm until the arm comes free of the joint. Step 4. there are several screws holding the cowl onto the chassis. This covers the wiper transmission. the screws are either phillips head or a torx head #10 when removed the cowl will come off in two pieces. Step 5. Use a pry bar to disengage the transmission from the wiper motor. In some cases you may have to remove the wiper motor as well. .There are four 10mm screws that hold the wiper motor on. If you remove it unplug it AFTER you get the screws out. step 6 There are three screws on each wiper arm holder 10 mm . remove them and the wiper transmission will be ready to remove wiggle it out and reinstall the new one . An amature should be able to do this job in about 1 hour It takes me about 15 minutes
Q: 2005 MaximaSometimes windshield wipers turn on and it happens a lot more in warm weather. Everything else in the electrical system seems to be working find. The dealer wants to change something called IPDM and charge several hundred dollars which I am not ready to do. Any other ideas?
Just either unplug the sensor that tells the wipers when to come on or try to see if you can remove the fuse for it.
