Q: I had my windshield replaced last week and now I notice that my windshield wipers don‘t work properly. The don‘t come back to their resting position horizontally like before. Through the glass, I can see that in their resting position, they are about 2-3 inches higher than before. I have to manually push them down for them to lay horizontal on the glass. Also, I‘ve noticed that the blades are pressed against the windshield really tight. When the blades move across the glass, they move slower than usual like there‘s tension. I‘d like to know if this could be related to my windshield replacement. I want to call up the windshield guy but don‘t want to accuse him of something if they aren‘t related. I have a Honda CRV 2002. Can anyone offer some advice on what I should do? Thanks.
try replacing the wiper blades, they could be worn - changing the windscreen has no effect on the wipers unless the mechanic damaged the wipers which is unlikely due to their training
Q: Has the 05 Chevy Impala ever been recalled for defectives windshield wipers?
HECTOR, The wiper motor bracket may need to be replaced. This is just a suggestion and is not meant as a diagnosis. I recommend having the vehicle inspected by a certified technician for an official diagnosis. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Q: My windshield wipers arent working, what does that cost?
Try checking the fuse first. $0.10 USD. If it's the motor then without knowing make and model of the vehicle in question there is no way to estimate the cost.
Q: My Windshield wipers work but the fluid doesn‘t come out. Any suggestions? The wiper fluid is full too.
What is your guys' take on the problem. Thanks in advance. -------------- Like everyone else said. Have codes scanned and diagnose properly and repair as needed. Just let a shop handle it. If you had the skills and equipment, you'd not be asking this.
Q: 02 Honda Civic. Will a windshield wiper motor & linkage from an 02 Civic coupe work in an 02 Civic Sedan?
For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/avIT7 waste of tiem and money on that stuff/costs gas miles/keeps intake air colder and that means warm up stays on longer and that means less mpg/no horsepower gain/only noise
Q: i got a 2004 mazda 3, and just had to order a new passenger side windshield wiper arm for it. I thought the splines just broke/wore off of the old one, and thats why there were now splines on the inside, but the new one doesn‘t have them either.is the metal ring inside of the hole a soft aluminum that you just screw onto the gear/splines on the motor? if so, wouldn‘t that mean that i can just place that **** at any angle and **** it all up lol? if so, how do i do this correctly?i never saw a wiper arm without splines that interlock with the splines on the motor. maybe i need to get out more.
there are no splines on the wiper arm assemblies, only a smooth round hole. simply set the new arm on the pivot at the proper position tighten the nut. -ken
Q: I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria and when i turn on my windshield wipers they skip and scrape across the windshield. I have replaced the wiper blades 4 times and have used different blades each time. I have used Anco, Trico , and since i work for a Ford dealer i have used OE Ford blades. I have had no luck getting good wiper blade usage. Is it possible that the wiper arm s are pressed to tight against the windshield?
there is a spring that should regulate the tension for the windshield wiper sound like thats the problem or you have something on your window and if you work at a dealership just ask a mechanic
Q: The wipers had been thawed and refrozen. When we went out and started the Blazer, the passenger side wiped okay, but the driver side did not as it was frozen in. Now when you use them, the passenger side still wipes okay, but the driver side wiper only goes up about four inches when the passenger side wiper is all the way up (vertical). I am afraid a gear or something is sheared off, but I am hoping someone here might know better than I. Thanks for your help.
The 1st answer about the bolt is applicable for some cars. I will add to that. shut the wipers off and make sure the driver's side is fully down. once it is, tighten the bolt. From what I am aware of on the 1st gen blazers 198?-1994, the arms have grooves that coincide with grooves on the piece that turns them at the base of the windshield/hood. to get those off, there is a special tool to do so properly, but it can also be done very carefully with a hammer.if this is still the setup the blazer used, and If you have stripped either or both gears out, the arm and the unit(name I don't know) can be replaced. I have never done it, so I can't detail the whole procedure short of it will be a pain. if you are lucky and only stripped the wiper arm, as I have done before, that is a simple replacement.
Q: My windshield wipers on my 04 subaru impreza just smear water whenever it rains. I have cleaned it very well, even used clay bar. I have tried all different types of wipers with no luck. Now this is where it gets interesting, I replaced the windshield in november. The old one had this problem and now the new one does. I even changes the wipers when I got the new windshield. Could it be that I need new wiper arms because the springs may be worn out and not applying the wiper hard enough to the windshield?
Hope this is not your situation, but I once made the mistake of applying Rain-x to my windshield and later washing the car with Mr. Clean no-dry car wash. The next time it rained I turned on the wipers and it looked like I was spreading white paint across the windshield. Both products are polymers (one trying to get water to bead up and the other trying to get it to sheet off) so trying to clean the windshield was hopeless. I got the smearing down to a level where we could drive by using Barkeeper's friend and an electric polisher for about half an hour. The problem lingered until the windshield had to be replaced because of a crack. Rain-x and Mr. Clean car wash are now banned from my garage.
Q: 10 drink windshield wiper fluid at Ark. day care. How dumb are they?
How does one mistake a container of Kool-Aid and windshield wiper fluid? The containers are not ever remotely similar. Sounds like the daycare center hired a mental case.
