- Q: Please help, My windshield wipers wont turn off when i am driving- bmw 5 series 1990?
- First, take off the two windshield wiper blades so that they don't dig into the hood or window posts. Second, remove Fuse F-15 (7.5 Amp). Note that the windshield washer pump also is controlled by the same switch control as the wiper. You can disable the washer pump by pulling the washer pump relay. You can reinsert fuse F-15 and see if the wiper gear rotates more that 1/3 of a turn. Allow the wiper motor gear to stop at the normal CW rotation where the wiper blades should stop. One wiper blade can be re-installed to check for the length of wiper sweep. The wiper blades need to drag across the glass in either direction. If the wiper motor doesn't stop, you may have to replace the wiper arms below the windshield. Once you get the wiper sweep to start and stop at approximately 1/3 of a windshield sweep, you can install both blades. You can stop and start the wiper function by turning the ignition key to RUN.

- a good used one would be fine. they are around 800 to 900 with lower miles usually odd that its failed at only 107k miles thats extremely premature are you positive it is totally failed? it could be as simple as speed sensor or fuse etc, a 2002 is worth fixing as long as it is still in nice condition and no other issues

- Remove your wiper arms and turn on your wipers. Let them go to their parked position. Re-attach the arms and try to align them as close to horizontal as you can. This should solve the problem. If this doesn't fix it, you may have a defective park switch in your wiper motor.

- It will run in the range of 75-85 dollars depending on the place of purchase. It comes alone and is very easy to change on this model vehicle. One thing is to be sure to take the old one off and take it with you to the place of purchase to compare the motors. There are two different types for this year. I would also check some salvage yards, there cheaper and some places already have the part removed or will remove it at your request. Most of the salvage yards give a 30 day warranty at a third of the cost.
- Q: So to get it to stay wiping. I would turn it on and wait till it finish wiping once and then turn it off to wipe it again.Then On. Then Off. What is wrong with it? Thanks for the help.
- your wiper motor control is going out they are part of the wiper motor but sold separably and some times cost $150.00 i had the same thing happen to me.
- Q: I have looked everywhere for a new one Advanced auto parts, Autozone, Checker Auto parts etc. I have even looked online for parts etc and no one has a replacement It is for a 98‘ Saturn SL1 on the passenger side and the part of the arm that screws on is almost completely smooth and stripped so it doesn‘t move when the wiper motor turns it. I am almost trying to think of a way to Frankenstein it and use like mighty putty or something to put it back on. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can find this part?
- A quick fix that might work for a short time, is to wrap the splined part on the car with just enough black electrical tape so you can still force the wiper arm onto it. Could advance or auto zone not order the part. If not you will have to go to the dealership, surely they can order it for you. Hope this tape works for you until you get a replacement, good luck.

- Your local auto parts store, such as Autozone, Advance, or O'reilly will get the correct wiper blades and they will install them for free too They also install headlight bulbs, air filters and batterys for free too
