Q: 95 mercury windshield wipers will not park what is wrong?
The windshield wiper transmission may have slipped a couple of teeth. Do the wipers seem to wipe past the edge of your window? If so you can take the transmission cover off and loosen the bolt or clip, and reposition it to where it should be when in the park position. Then reinstall clip or bolt and try them out.
Q: The windshield wipers don‘t work but I can hear the motor running. I have a 93 Nissan Maxima.
A fire ring is a device used to contain campfires and prevent them from spreading and turning into wildfires. A fire ring is designed to contain a fire that is built directly upon the ground, such as a campfire. Fire rings have no bottom, and are simply circles made of forged metal, stones, concrete, etc. which surround and contain a fire. Manufactured steel fire rings are available in various sizes to suit every need. When building a fire somewhere that isn't fire-safe, such as on a patio or in a backyard,[citation needed] a fire pit may be better used instead. Fire pits have legs and bottoms, and are designed to contain the entire fire instead of just keeping it in one place. A fire ring may be nothing more than a short, wide section of metal tube, partially buried in the ground. Slightly more advanced fire rings may be partially covered with metal bars so that the fire may be used for cooking. These types are seen at many campsites. Fire rings in urban areas, such as on beaches, may be made of poured concrete. Makeshift fire rings can be constructed out of a ring of stones where preconstructed rings are not available (care should be taken as some stones can explode when heated due to trapped gas pockets, thermal expansion, or water contained flashing into steam.
Q: My windshield wipers on my 1996 Honda Accord just stopped working yesterday and I am trying to check the fuse. When I checked the fuse box, there was no designation for the wipers. Is there an actual fuse for the wipers, or its under another component or name?
It could be a loose wire which should run along the front of the engine (closest to the windshield whipper when looking under the hood). Look for any torn up cords, if any have been exposed, use electric tape to seal them up. This is usually the case if all the parts are in order. If it still doesn't work, you may want to take it in as it could be an internal problem too where unless you are an auto mechanic, you may damage your car rather than repair it when you take it a part.Hope this helps!
Q: I recently bought a new 2009 Toyota Sienna two months back. Recently when it rained a lot, I switched the windshield wiper to high and found to dismay that it just gets stuck. It works fine at lower settings.Does anyone have similar experience? Any idea what is wrong?
Sounds like there is a problem with your wipers. Take it back to Toyota and have them fixed. Its under warrantymd
Q: Have tried longer and shorter blades. Also different types and brands. They only chatter in light rain not when really wet.
Try this, G M recommends that you clean your windshield with Bon Ami. use a soft cloth and clean it good, then rinse and dry it. Then clean with regular window cleaner. The Bon Ami removes road film that window cleaner won't touch. I follow this with a coat of Rain X windshield wax. I only have to use the Bon Ami about twice a year and the wax lasts about six weeks in the winter. Do not use any other cleansers (Ajax Comet etc. they scratch glass, Bon Ami doesn't) Also wipe your blades with window cleaner.
Q: Problem is:some times when i turn them on, they dont start. So then i have to grab a wiper and force it to move and then they start moving. Also some times they will just stop working, and i have pull on them and move them to get them started again. The motor is strong and will work on all the speeds. And the wiper switch in the turn signal arm feels good and seems to be working.Could it be a bad rely or a dead spot on the wiper motor ?thanks
Sounds more like lack of lubrication coupled with dirt and dust in the motor and mechanism linkage. Use some WD-40 and spray and lubricate all the moving parts.
Q: Whenever I use my wipers, they seem to miss patches of my windshield, which it seems because the washer fluid doesn‘t get there, any ideas on how to fix this? I know it‘s not the wipers, as I‘ve changed those in a a effort to see if that would work.
The part that holds the wiper blades has several pivot points (hinges). Often when it is cold, they will freeze and not allow the wiper blade to conform to the changing curvature of the windshield. Lift up the wipers and flex the pivot points and see if this helps.
Q: Do windshield wipers have other colors besides black?
Today wiper blades mostly come in black, this is in order to reduce glare and driver distraction. Some older cars will have chrome, stainless steel, and other finishes available. In the aftermarket arena I have seen some blades that are supposed to look like carbon fiber and occasionally you will see some in bright colors like yellow, blue, and red. These, I believe, are usually made for the tuner car crowd for people who want their car to look like it is from the Fast and the Furious.
Q: its a 1997 f-150. there was snow on the windshield when i tried using the wipers and they didn‘t work, so i brushed the snow off and the the wiper blades went up but did not come back down. i can move them with my hand and when i press the button i can hear the motor running but the wipers don‘t move. im guessing there just off track or something. is this an easy fix? what do i need to do to fix them?
you have long arms going from the wipers to the motor. check and see if both arms are still hooked up.
Q: Oktoday I was driving and it started to rain so I turned on my windshield wiper.the wipers get stuck in eachother, I pull over and gently untangle them. Afterwards, the windshield wiper tries to work.I can hear the clicking when I turn it on.however there is very little movement. I pulled the hood open to see where the noise is coming from.and it looks like the arm that controls the windshield wiper is broken.it‘s completely severed. 1). How in the world does something like that happen? 2). Does anyone have an idea of how much it will cost to repair it? I drive a ‘98 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Please help! I‘ve spent sooo much money on this stupid car already and I‘m TERRIFIED to take it to a mechanic and see how much it‘s going to cost.I need preparation. HELP!!!!
sounds to me like it may be the motor in the windshield wipers not working properly. This happened to mine a few years ago. I got the parts at an auto wrecker. Paid about 100 bucks in total for them to put it in and buy the parts I needed.
