Q: Does anyone know how to quiet squeaky windshield wipers? I have even replaced them but they continue to make squeaky noises a lot when in use. I am starting to think that the problem lies with the windshield
wash your window with Borax and then apply rain-x and replace the blades with the Rain-x brand. They are the best blades you cen get.
Q: To preface, the car I am talking about is a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. This morning I went to take off for the day, and saw that I needed to clean my windshield. I hit the knob to spray the washer fluid, and it did, however my windshield wipers did nothing. I tried just turning on the wipers and yep, not a thing. I ended up having to manually wipe off the washer fluid from the windshield so I could be on my way.Just wondering if this sounds like a fuse problem, or a motor problem? I‘m not mechanically inclined, so I figured I might ask on here. Thanks ahead of time!
Did you hear any sounds when you tried to turn on the wipers? If not, then it's definitely the fuses. I think O' Reilly's got the best deal on a box of fuses. All amps in one box. You can't go wrong with buying a box full of fuses because you'll already have them on you for when you need one.
Q: Is it the motor, or maybe an easier fix?
first af all check the nut that holds the arm to the wiper tansmission. typically, thats the problem, if the nut is tight, it is probably the wiper transmission that has failed. i would try to tighten the nut that holds the arm on . since one is moving , that indicates the motor is working ,so rule that out, give the nut a try
Q: i have a 99 jeep grand cherokee. I took my wipers off today to repaint them and i forgot to mark them. now that they are done i realize they are 2 different lengths. I tried a part number search but nothing came up. anyone know which one goes where?
The windshield wiper arms on the Jeep Grand Cherokee are the same length on both the driver and passenger side and if yours has a shorter or longer arm on one side or the other then it is because someone changed one of the arms and did not install the proper OEM length arm.
Q: do i just replace the motor or.is there something connecting. hmph
Your wiper transmission is broken. This is the part that connect the wipers to the wiper motor. You should be able to pick up an used wiper transmission between $25 and $40.
Q: Problem is:some times when i turn them on, they dont start. So then i have to grab a wiper and force it to move and then they start moving. Also some times they will just stop working, and i have pull on them and move them to get them started again. The motor is strong and will work on all the speeds. And the wiper switch in the turn signal arm feels good and seems to be working.Could it be a bad rely or a dead spot on the wiper motor ?thanks
Most likely a bad wiper motor. You could test this by tapping on the wiper motor when they stop working. Use the handle of a big screwdriver and give the motor a good tap. If the wipers start working I would replace the motor as the brushes in the motor are worn. Motor is usually located up against the firewall somewhere and about the size of a soda can and black.
Q: For some reason, my passenger side windshield wiper has stopped, but the drivers side one works perfectly fine. When I try to google this question, I get no responses really. Im thinking its the wiper motor, but why would only one of the wipers stop if thats the case? Any help would be great, thanks
The wiper arm maybe louse some cars have a nut that holds the wiper arm tritely against the splines that are on the wiper transmission if you shut your wipers off they will park themselves at the bottom of your windshield .You may need to move the one to the park poison and remove the cover at the base of the wiper arm that hides the nut. If that is not the problem the linkage came apart that goes to the motor you will need to remove both wiper arms and several screws and or clips to remove the cowl that hides the linkage
Q: Hello,I‘m having some trouble figuring out how to operate the rear windshield wiper on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. There is no clearly defined control on the windshield wiper control knob. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
ive by no potential thrown a windshield wiper from a ninety 8 jeep wrangler yet 10 years in the past in my best i might want to throw a common application windshield wiper sixty 5 yards. in the present day i doubt i can bypass 50. guy this question brings decrease back recommendations!
Q: i need some new windshield wipers, but i don‘t know what size i need. i have a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse. any help would be nice. thanks.
either take ur old ones off at the store and sizes em up or most parts store have a size dirrectory to look up size by car
Q: 1999 Ford Taurus. My windshield wipers work on high only.not on low or any intermittent level. If I turn them down from high, they stop right where they are. Any ideas??? Thanks
Fords and electrical problems go hand in hand.I know I dis Ford quite a bit,but they did have electrical problems in those years.I would say to set it on fire, but there is a poor soul on here who is Ford trained.Fordman.He likely knows the best answer.
