Q: Why will my windshield wipers not go all the way down? We just had a big snowstorm, and I am afraid that I stressed the motor and now my windshield wipers will not go all the way down. They work fine, but when I turn them off after using them, they‘re about 3 inches up on the windshield. It‘s get annoying because it blocks some of my view. My car is 2000. Should I consider replacing the motor or is it an adjustment problem?
Is it a GM? Because sometimes the gears strip out inside the wiper housing and the one little part cost me $80 to replace last year in my 02 Century.
Q: Is it because of the trend towards bigger windshields or something else?
I don't know, but I started noticing it around '95. It's a pain, and frankly, I don't understand why two blades can vary by as little as 1. I think it's because the wipers have to move together but the stroke lengths are different because of the position of the wiper motors. So why not position the wiper motors so their strokes can be the same? As long as the auto execs are testifying on Capitol Hill begging for $34B, our elected representatives should ask them.
Q: I have a 1998 Nissan Altima. Recently the Windshield wiper stick on the inside of the car came out of the socket. I really need it fixed and don‘t have the money to do that. Can anyone please help me? I would appreciate it sooo much. Thanks!!
If you mean the control stick used to control the wipers on the side of the steering wheel, it is usually just a matter of plugging the wire harness back in, since it is actually pretty hard for a wire harness to come undone, you may have broken the control stick itself, which will need to be replaced. This could be upwards of 100$ for the part alone, depending on how many different accessories were controlled by it. Hope this helps.
Q: My mom‘s windshield wipers are shot, anyone know of anywhere i can find a good and somewhat cheap pair.Thanx
If you're talking wiper blades, their so in-expensive. Just go to any auto parts store and pick up a pair that fits your car. Most brand are had for under 10 bucks a peice. If when you say winshield wipers and you mean the arms, then again, just go to an autoparts store and price them. It's less aggravating than shopping around. The price difference is only a few dollars between stores.
Q: Wipers can be moved by hand
More than likely the plastic bushing that connects the wiper transmission to the wiper motor is broken. You need to remove the cowl cover and see if the transmission linkage is attached to the motor. I've put several bushings in Dodge vehicles (usually trucks). I believe you can get the part from any parts store that carries HELP products. Good luck.
Q: I recently moved to the UK bringing with me my American car. After adding different lights and having several other modifications it is finally legal to drive. However, a couple days later I was driving it and noticed the windshield wipers wouldn‘t turn off. They work separately but something is obviously wrong. Any ideas on what might be causing it and how to fix it?
nicely you could ither have one in all 2 problmes. a million could be that the cord for you windshiled wipers could be undesirable. 2 you would want a sparkling pc or it may be damages meaning it is going to tell your automobile the incorrect situation to do! desire it facilitates
Q: I have 1994 Ford F-150 and my wipers usually start working good and then slow down a little over time as I‘m driving and then a couple times they would actually stop working. I couldn‘t turn them on for awhile. Would the windshield wiper motor be going out or a short in the wiring or does anyone know what it might be?
it could be the wiper motor its self or just the wiper switch that's located in the dash of your truck bc ive had the same problem and it turned out to be the switch in the dash. its around a 15 dollar part and took me less then half an hour to put it in on a 91 f150
Q: I have a 2003 Impala. My drivers side windshield wiper won‘t go down all the way unless I physically push it down. When it‘s not down all the way and I turn it on, it goes off my window and almost hits my side mirror. What‘s wrong and how can I fix ?
wiper blades are too long or they need adjusted. take both of them off, turn the wipers on then shut them off and replace the wipers at the stopping point.
Q: how do you change a windshield wiper motor in a 1995 ford taurus?
remove wiper arms remove hood there is black plastic under wiper arms under there is a black cover on the firewall with 1 or 2 bolts in it and on the drivers side there is the motor it has 3 bolts and a wire harness also there is a clip on the wiper motor assembly remove then install in reverse
