Q: I have a 1995, Ford 250, XLT, 7.5. All I want to do is replace the windshield wipers. And I just can not seem to do it. Must I purchase the whole mental piece to do so? Or can I just purchase the blade? I want to just place in the blades but it will not release. What am I doing wrong. Need help very much thanks in advance. I got 18 blades from walmart and I dont know how to use it. Please help me
usually, there is a metal clip at the end of the blade, it should release by squeezing it together, but they can be a real pain. whenever i do it, i just change the whole metal peace. if you do get it on though, make sure its not gonna slide off. if it dose, its gonna scratch your windshield
Q: I have a 93 Camry - can anyone out there tell me how to re-connect the actuator arm? Or is it just best to take it to a mechanic?
Well it depends upon what you mean by the actuator arm. If you mean the connecting rod that passes between the two wiper arm mounts under the cowl, most often these are nylon press on sockets that fit on a ball on the windshield wiper motor. Sometimes they just pop off, though mostly in winter when the wiper is frozen to the windshield and the stress of trying to move but being unable to causes it to separate. In this case it can just be popped back on. In other cases the nylon bushing has worn out and then it needs to be replaced. Often you must buy the arm too, as they do not sell the bushing separately. Now if you are talking about the wiper arm iself and where it connects to the drive shaft that turns it, that has a little flip up cover and a small bolt underneath the cover that you can tighten once you have both arms situated so that they will not collide in motion or strike the windshield frame on either end of their range of motion. FInally if you are talking about the blade arm itself, and theway it hooks into a sort of sheep's hook on the end of the wiper arm, it is not very difficult simply to snap it back into place yourself. If you look at the other arm you will be able to see how it fits.
Q: I was driving home last night and my windshield wipers just stopped working on my thunderbird. I‘ve been told that they aren‘t working because the bar that connects to the motor is slipping off causing the windshield wipers not to work.
those long arms that works the wipers just pop off and on so pop the arm back on and hope it stays !
Q: This morning it snowed so i took the snow off myself it was snowing lightly so i turned on my wipers but after awhile my left wiper wouldnt go all the way down and it would slide off the windshield whats wrong with it?
sounds like the teeth on the socket are striped. the wiper arm is attached to the motor linkage and is connected by teeth on the socket arm.
Q: Question about 2000 Honda Accord EX Windshield Wipers Not Working?
something is wrong with the linkage or gearbox. you need to take off the cowl under the windshield, and look at the wiper linkage. you will see moving parts, and a broken part, and some non-moving parts. you will then need to replace the broken part, which will make the currently non-moving parts mobile once again.
Q: The windshield wipers on my 1999 civic stopped working out of the blue. I tried changing the fuse and still nothing. I‘m not sure if it‘s the wiper motor either because when I turn my wipers on I hear the motor going - but my blades stay still. Any ideas ??
You should never try to operate the windshield wipers without first clearing the snow off the window and making sure the wiper blade is not stuck to the window from the ice. Always pop them away from the windo first. You may have stripped the gear movement, and may need to replace the motor. You should be able to find one at a junk yard pretty cheap.
Q: do i just replace the motor or.is there something connecting. hmph
Both wipers work off the same motor, if you do ever figure out how to remove the wiper arms and cowl you will see the linkage, in which case you will discover what has become disconnected sometimes its a very simple fix, other times you will have to buy the little plastic bushing that holds the linkage arms togeather,
Q: I just had my windshield frame replaced but when the shop put my windshield wipers back on they put them in the wrong position. They now rest like a normal car instead of being at an angle to properly wipe my windshield. Is there an easy way to readjust these? Thanks so much!

Q: I have a Saab 9-5 year 2000. Windshield wipers do not move. Help?
NO JOKE this JUST happened to me three days ago and i got it fixed yesterday. The windshield wipers were on high and they just stopped working in the pouring rain the motor WOULD make a buzzing noise but they would not move unless i manually pulled them across the windshield - then something would catch and the motor would pull them back down, but then they are just stuck again. i took it to the saab dealer yesterday and he said it was the wiper motor, it cost $360 in parts and labor to replace and they work better than ever now. please dont listen to what other people say about if you hear a buzzing noise then its not the motor - WRONG, i heard the buzzing noise loud and clear and it turned out to be the motor.
