Q: So, I was in such a rush to fix my windshield wiper motor that I started taking things apart, including the bracket that holds the front rod to the motor. I forgot to check to see if it was in park position, ie., aligned with the arrow. When I put it back together with the new rod do I have to do anything special to make sure that everything is aligned? The bracket that holds the front rod (rod A) spins 360 degrees when attached, so I don‘t see what the big deal is, but some forums claim it is important.
If the new motor isn't parked before putting the linkage on the motor it will park in any number of positions. To get it to park where you want it to make sure the motor is in the park position and then guess as close as possible where to tighten the linkage down so the blades are in the park position. If the wiper arms can be pulled away from the windshield and they stay there by themselves put them there before trying the wipers out just in case you guessed wrong so you don't bend or break anything. You are about to learn what the big deal is!
Q: I just replaced the windshield wipers for my car (full blade assembly, not just blades) and have just had my first need to use them. The passenger side wiper barely contacts the windshield and the driver‘s side is not much better. Long story short, the wipers don‘t contact the windshield near hard enough, when at all. How do I correct this without having to pay out the wazoo? Off hand I don‘t remember the brand, but I believe they were Bosch and I believe the problem not to be in the wiper blade and assembly replacements but that the problem was likely present before I got the car. How does one fix this problem? For what it‘s worth, these are on a 1984 Camaro Sport Coupe
Remove the blade assembly and place the arm back in position. It should touch the windshield and have a good tension toward the glass. If not, grip the lower part of the arm firmly in one hand and bend the upper half toward the windshield about 1/2. Do another 1/2 if the first bend does not work. The most likely reason is someone vandalizing the wipers when the dealer had it. Also check if the mount end of the arm is twisted out of position. Use a pliers to correct.
Q: We had ice overnight and, though I didn‘t think I did anything wrong (using them when they were still iced up), apparently I did. My wipers work, but when I turn them off, they go to the complete opposite place of where they should. They stop with both right in front of the driver, sticking almost straight up the windshield. They work fine, they wipe my windshield, but they stop in the fully extended position when I turn them off. I hope I explained this clearly. If so, can you advise on the problem? Thanks!
Very simple fix, at the base of the wiper blade arm, where it spins on the axises, there is a bolt or fastener of some sort. Loosen this fastener and bring your wiper back the the place you want, tighten the screw and there you have it.
Q: it seems like replacing the arm that connects to the car/window and the windshield wiper will be the best choice, yet i have difficulty taking it off, unbolting the hexagon bolt and the arm still won‘t budge. this arm was broken just an inch and a half away from the bolt. and as i found out, superglue is ineffective when trying to reattach this carbonfiber arm back together. advice is welcome.
Go to your local advance auto parts, Autozone, or O'reileys Auto parts and the guys behind the counter will gladly replace your wiper arm for you free of charge after buying the arm from them.
Q: Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to adjust the movement of the front windshield wipers. Any help will be appreciated.
when off and down remove wiper arm a 1/4 inch and try again they just pop on and off at the base easy job if to high and they run off window move down if they dont go up as far move them up not hard if you cant do it any shop could in 5 minutes
Q: ok so my wipers started to just stop working, they are on but they will not move, i can make them move by hand either, its like they are jamed. Also, when i hit bumps in the road or like slam the door they will turn on and stop somewhere on the windshield, the last few times i used them they go up slow and choppy but go down fine, so times getting stuck fully up. any tricks to get them to work, is it the motor? please help.
I have had a Hayabusa and a GSX 1000 and now a Harley FatBoyAvon or Metzler are the two best.Metzler being my favorite.always replace stock Dunlop.they don't last as long as the above or stick to the road as well.
Q: this part has an intake that the hose comes from the windshield washer fluid container and on the other side of this part there is an outlet that the hose goes from to the wipers . There are electric wires on this part also-but there is a pump on the washer fluid container --What does this part do and is it necessary as the outlet to the wipers has snapped off and can not attach the hose to the wipers --the pump from the washer fluid container pumps the water to this part but when it get to the outlet it just pumps the water out --hope i explained this part good enough to identify it and if it is necessary or should i just put a T and remove this part .????
The all in one activate the column won't take care of the amp draw of the wiper motor so which you will have relays on your distribution container. seem under the canopy to discover which relay works the wipers and turn that one with one that could be a similar length and notice if that works.
Q: So yesterday it rained pretty badly and i was using my wipers all day on a vw golf 95 when all of a sudden my wipers went crazy and hitting each other i pulled over and reset them but then only the driver side wiper worked can someone please help me out on how to fix this problem
Sounds like one wiper arm is loose on the pivot. If the arm will move with the motor turned off, then you can replace the arm.
Q: i got a 2004 mazda 3, and just had to order a new passenger side windshield wiper arm for it. I thought the splines just broke/wore off of the old one, and thats why there were now splines on the inside, but the new one doesn‘t have them either.is the metal ring inside of the hole a soft aluminum that you just screw onto the gear/splines on the motor? if so, wouldn‘t that mean that i can just place that **** at any angle and **** it all up lol? if so, how do i do this correctly?i never saw a wiper arm without splines that interlock with the splines on the motor. maybe i need to get out more.

Q: I drive a 2012 mazda3. I smell the windshield wiper fluid within 2 seconds of spraying it. What might be causing this and how can I fix it? tia :)
The excess washer fluid is running down the windshield and the odor is from it being sucked into the fresh air intake.
