Q: 95 mercury windshield wipers will not park what is wrong?
There is what is known as a park pawl in the transmission of the wipers that activates a switch when it goes to park. There is a set of contacts in the wiper transmission that has to make contact to cut the juice to the motor when the wiper switch is off and the wipers are returning to the park position. It could be bad as well as the other suggestions already mentioned. Not very familiar with your particular motor, but if has delay wipers and such the GM motors have a printed circuit board that goes bad and can prevent them from parking as well. Ford might have a board like that but can't remember. Boards for the GM's are cheap and can change without removing the motor. Imagine Ford would be similar. Can also cause the wipers to come on for no reason or the intermittent to vary wild in time regardless of where you have the delay set.
Q: k---so no fluid is coming outwipers work fine.checked fuses, they were fine, replaced pumpfluid worked ! (for a week) went to use it today and nothing. At all.Makes me mad because I was so excited I got it fixed.I smelled something smoke and it smelled sweet inside the car.this last Sunday uld a fuse have blown just now?(I had someone helping me last time.) I have a 97 Saturn SL2.
Check the wiper motor, usually located under the hood near or on the firewall. It can get dirty and connections get loosened. Common problem with GM.
Q: I am sort of a back yard mechanic but this one has stumped me good.My truck is a 2002 Dodge Diesel 2500 4X4 and the windshield wipers quit about a month ago, they wont do anything and I cant figure it out, so far I have;checked the fuse, swapped out the relay, bought a new motor-still didnt work, took it back, bought the wiper switch that goes on the column- still dont work, too that back!!!I am at my wits end, Please Help!!!any questions I will watch and repost if necessary. Thanks
Dale, that vehicle uses a Central Timer Module which controls everything from door locks and dome lamps to the wipers. Ignition on B+ is provided by fuse #6 to the multi-function switch and the wiper motor. When you turn the wipers on at the multi-function switch it sends a mux signal to the Central Timer module which then provides a ground to the wiper motor. If you have access to a mutimeter use the ohm setting to check for a mux signal from the MFS at the brown, violet and white/dark blue wires. Check with the black lead connected to chassis ground. You should see different resistances at each wiper speed setting. If you can see that but you still dont have ground at the wiper motor brown/white (low speed) or red/yellow (high speed) wires then suspect the central timer module. A dealer with a DRB II scan tool can confirm this for you. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Q: I have a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge, the windshield wipers, door/seatbelt chime, and odometer/speedometer all stopped working at the same time. I checked all the fuses that would be related to those items (under the hood fuse panel and on the side of the dashboard fuse panel). All of them appeared to be in working order. The guy working at the Ford Dealership‘s parts counter told me it could also be the GEM module. What would cause all of the items listed above to stop working?
the rating on the tire is the max pressure. use what it says on the door. 3500 lbs is not that heavy a truck believe it or not. using the 26 psi will give you the largest traction pad on the tires giving you the greatest stopping ability along with stability.
Q: windshield wipers do not work on intermittent setting, but do work on other settings, have to turn them off at the correct moment so that they will not stop in mid stroke. is the motor the cause of this or is it a switch problem 1995 nissan pathfinder
If it was a motor issue, they would'nt work at all, the switch IS the culperate here. (unless your wiper transmission is binding intermittently) Good Luck! -Ben
Q: Does the shuttle have windshield wipers?
Nope. They launch only during clear skies, and will alter their landing site to avoid rain as well. No wipers needed.
Q: I recently was in Brianhead in freezing conditions, being around snow much my life I know to lift my wipers up from the glass but this time after i cleared the ice and snow, drop the wipers back down. After defrosting the window i attempted to turn the wipers on and got nothing out of them and even returning to hot weather nothing. any help????
Umm have you ever heard of buying new windshield wiper for 20 bucks at pretty much any store?
Q: I haven‘t tried them today, but just in case they don‘t work, could this be something as simple as a fuse?
i'd put money on that it is a fuse
Q: I haven't had any real problems with this car at all and all of a sudden the wiper quit working. The weird thing about it is that the broken one is manually movable but the one that does work won't move at all if you push on it. How can I fix this or do I have to take it in to the dealership?
Each wiper arm is connected to a gearbox, sometimes called a transmission. They can break or strip. Not too easy to replace on most cars, but not impossible. I would just let a mechanic handle it. You can buy a used one. This has nothing to do with the transmission that moves the car if you're totally car ignorant. No offense.
Q: I drive a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro and its time for new windshield wipers. When i looked my car up in the windshield wiper book, my car was not listed.
handmade soup. My all time typical is LOVe Soup. [Left Over Vegetable.] I frequently make this after the weekend, whilst i've got no longer given all the leftovers to Callie [my canine]. at times there is little of the beef left from the weekend, so as that is going in with the vegetables too.
