Q: ok i have a camaro and the wipers work fine but when i turn them off they go back up and sit right in the middle of the windshield can someone tell me how to fix this please i will givbe best answer to whoever answers best thanks!!!
I haven't seen the newer Camaro series, I dealt with the older 80's models, but if they hold true. It sounds like your wipers have slipped the bolt that runs them. There used to be a small motor, that had a bolt that the wipers fit on, that made them work back and forth. If they stopped completely, either the motor was fried, or the wiper blade had stripped and the bolt was turning inside it without making it move. Most of the time, I found the later, but I'm told that the motor burning up is far more common. But, if they were turned off, and stuck in a position other than where they were originally to rest, it usually meant that the threads were out in the wiper, or the bolt was stripped and couldn't hold the wiper in place. Now, this usually meant that they didn't work, but they could have just skipped a place, so that they work, but rest somewhere other than all the way down. Sort of like a radio knob that is off a little, and the radio is on, but the knob says it is off, and off when it should be on. (Hope I made sense there) Normally, just pop the wiper off, check the threads (metal bolt or plastic wiper) and REPLACE the defective one. Do not glue the wiper back on, or it is hard to get back off (and this will be the only time you will ever need to remove it otherwise), or it will fly off while you are driving, and leave you without a wiper, and improper equipment (ticket), if stopped. I've seen wipers that popped off even though they couldn't be pried off, and once glued on, you will eventually have to remove them, and this will usually mean a new motor and wipers, because they won't come off otherwise. Murphy's Car Laws. Of course, if Chevy has changed the model, this is worthless. :)
Q: Please help. It is rather annoying.
It's caused by surface tension when the blade skips over a dry part of the window. The fix is to keep the blades clean with a product like 20/10 cleaner. The soap in it will stop the squeak. I use in the the washer fluid - about 4 oz per fill up.
Q: My firebirds windshield wipers park up everytime I turn them off(even if im driving and turn them off it does the same thing ) I havent tried to work on the problem yet
Remove your wiper arms and turn on your wipers. Let them go to their parked position. Re-attach the arms and try to align them as close to horizontal as you can. This should solve the problem. If this doesn't fix it, you may have a defective park switch in your wiper motor.
Q: Where are the relays for the windshield wipers located? The wipers turn on by the switch but will not turn off unless you turn the ignition off. The dealer said there are 4 relays and one or more are bad
Remember the guy that told you about the relay problem? Ask him.
Q: how to install windshield wiper blades?
On what? A train, a plane or motorcycle? use your common knowledge, remove one and reinstall the new one the same way you removed the 1st one. good luck
Q: I have a ‘97 Pontiac Sunfire that otherwise works fine, but the windshield wipers are acting up. When they are on they work just fine, but when I go to turn them off, they park in the middle of the windshield instead of stowing at the bottom. Any ideas?I already tried taking them off and resetting them when the wipers were off, but that just made them stay at the bottom even when i turned them on.
Your car is over 10 years old now. I agree with cat lady. Replace the linkage. it's probably worn out. GM has had a lot of models with this problem. look at all the cars and vans with the wipers stuck in the up position. most are GM models or Ford taurus.
Q: Does it only come in an assembly or can it be installed alone?
Replace the motor.I do not the price.
Q: While in a rush to get out, I put the fluid in the wrong place. The car has not overheated but I have smelled the fluid evaporating. There is no difference in engine temperature or running condition. Its a 2002 civic LX with the non vtec motor. Can I leave it in to evaporate or should I change the fluid?
I use Bar's Leak for those that can't afford to get the job done right away and need time to fund enough money for the job. It works 90% of the time and helps keep the vehicle going until they can afford to do the job right. It is in noway a permanent fix unless the leak is very small. Once the problem is fixed I double flush the system and add the correct amount of antifreeze. Since the leak is coming from the heater core you could just bypass it until you get it replaced. No need for stop leaks there. Easy fix.
Q: Somehow the rear winshield wiper on my 02 Celica got moved. It should be starting out upright and wiping to the right, but all of a sudden it‘s laying down to the right. When I turn on the wiper, it‘s wiping down onto my car instead of the windshield. How can I turn it back to where it‘s supposed to be??
pull it off and relocate its a no specific position it can be taken off and turned placed in any 360* position
Q: My windshield wipers on my 04 subaru impreza just smear water whenever it rains. I have cleaned it very well, even used clay bar. I have tried all different types of wipers with no luck. Now this is where it gets interesting, I replaced the windshield in november. The old one had this problem and now the new one does. I even changes the wipers when I got the new windshield. Could it be that I need new wiper arms because the springs may be worn out and not applying the wiper hard enough to the windshield?
Could be, or you could be getting oil on the windshield from somewhere. Does it feel oily?
