Q: My 1999 Toyota Tacoma only has 2 windshield wiper speed settings: fast and faster - no delay setting. I can also bump the lever up for one swish. Living near Seattle I often deal with that constant, fine drizzle that doesn‘t call for a fast wiper speed, and I often find I have to bump the lever up for a swish every 15-30 seconds. Most cars come with a delay setting built-in, but not this one for some reason. Can the settings on my wipers be changed so I have a delay setting?
I'm sure intermittent wipers were offered as an option on 1999 Toyota pickups. Have you thought about asking the dealer? Also, JC Whitney offers intermittent wiper switches for cars without it. I've seen these switches and have been tempted to install one on my 1972 El Camino SS, but can't seem to get around to it. Ask the dealer.
Q: my driver‘s side wiper works but stops on intermittent about 3/4 of the way up for a second then continues. the passenger side wiper doesn‘t work but sometimes jumps a little (maybe 2-3 inches). what do i have to do?
sounds like either the gears in your wiper blade motor are stripped or maybe the clamps on your blades themselves are busted. I would say motor though. You can go ti a junk yard and probably get one for about 30-50 bucks. Or take it to a mechanic and get charged up the $$
Q: My dad knows some stuff about fixing cars but this one he cant figure out. I‘m just trying to help out.
Hey Voceona, nice name, the wiper motor has a parking circuit which should return the blades to the horizontal position when you turn them off. Wiggle the wiring harness and connector which enter the wiper motor. If that does not correct the problem there maybe an electrical problem inside the motor assembly. when he turns off the wipers and it stays halfway, give the external wiiper motor housing a couple of sharp raps with a wrench, if it parks properly, there is a poor contact inside the motor , replace it. hope this helps. good luck
Q: What does windshield wiper mean?
Its usually found in a car, you know that thing that wipes rain, dirt off the glass in the front view.
Q: My 202 Chevy Malibu's windshield wiper only works on the highest setting, do I need to replace the motor? how to do it?
Fuse or a relay. maximum vehicles, once you look at the place the relays are might have an identical relay for various products like headlights, wipers, etc. verify the numbers on the relays to make useful first. you are able to replace the relays to work out if the single for the wipers is undesirable. verify for a bad fuse first. and don't placed a larger fuse in in simple terms because of the fact it blew the previous one. this is an indication something is inaccurate interior the circuit (change, motor, relay, grounded twine, etc.) and the wiring is made to deal with in basic terms lots amperage.
Q: Has anyone tried those Gator Blades from the As Seen on TV commercials? If so, are they as good as they say? And where can you buy them? I can't find a valid website for them or anything about them.
Haven't heard of them, but the Rain-X wipers are very nice.
Q: I had to disconnect the wiper switch to shut them off, at first I thought it was the switch because it was already lose and it would turn on by itself sometime. But then I bought a new switch and it still does the same thing when I connect it. Could it be a relay or something else??? I also noticed there was a change on the beeping sound the car makes when a door is open, please help I really hate connecting and disconnecting the switch to turn of the wipers. Note: wiper fuses are good and wiper switch has been replaced.
Look into a Wiper Module, this is what would let you use the delay and could let it run with the switch off. So look for a Wiper Module for it, you could even try Wiper Delay Module. This is off my head quickly but I should be correct.
Q: I turned on my car to go to work and I noticed my windshield wiper fluid kept spraying. I got to a stop sign and turned off my car for a few seconds and when I started it up again the problem continued. I got to work and thought I would try it again, same result. Same happened after work and this morning. I see how to fix the problem, hopefully, but how do I fix it? I thought I got the fuse, I think it‘s called (not really a car person), and I tried getting it off but only a plastic part did. Any help?
I think you have a fault at wiper fluid pump or a short-circuit. The fuse is for all components( Wipers + pump +.)
