Q: my 05 chevy aveo‘s windshield wipers have always jumped of the window while driving at high speeds (like highway speeds) when they were on. Now they are missing an increasingly large amount of the middle of the windshield whille they are on. I was debating on repacing the drivers side arm, but will it make a difference since it always did it a little? The only place I can get the replacement part is at the dealers, so won‘t it be the same part as before?
Always on the front of the car for front wheel drive
Q: on, need to know how to turn them on or what the switch or lever is located
Sucks to be you. Seriously, Who made the chassis for the barge? I have never actually seen a hydraulic wiper system, air and vacuum and electric , yes. Whatever you are looking for has to be within the drivers reach and really should be marked. How many switches do you have to try to find it? If nothing on the dash works to make the wipers go , then you have a power problem. If they are hydraulic, then the engine may need to run, electric wipers will work with just the key on. Have you checked all the fuses? Can you confirm a hydraulic or electric motor by lifting the panels in front of the windshield? These things were trailers on a van frame so they mickey moused as they went and never buried anything
Q: Do windshield wipers have other colors besides black?
the blades are usually black due to the rubber I have seen some wiper arms in hot colors - but I believe they would be distracting to a driver when in use all the best
Q: What the heck is the spline size anyways? Will a quarter inch really make a difference?
The dimension they are giving is for the shaft that the wiper arm attaches too---has to be the right size. Take the old wiper arm off and measure the diameter of the shaft it goes onto to get the correct size. Splines are the little grooves on the shaft that keep the wiper arm from rotating on the shaft while operating and must be lined up with grooves in the wiper arm to line up on the glass properly.
Q: I have a ‘96 Toyota Camry.this morning it was raining lightly and I flipped the wipers on once to clean the windshield and then turned them back off.or so I thought. Anyone know what I can do?
just leave them running,
Q: I damaged my windshields wiper yesterday while clearing ice from the windshield. I lifted the blades, but must have done something else during. Now my driver‘s side wiper will not wipe correctly, sometimes not going out far enough, other times too far, going off the edge of my windshield, which is scary. What should be done about this, and what can I expect to pay, if I can‘t fix it myself?
I'm gonna take a guess that you're not telling the whole truth. What you're experiencing is a common side effect of turning the wipers on while they're frozen to the windshield. The motor spins and strips out the wiper arm, causing random fluctuations in movement and sweep pattern because it's not tight anymore.
Q: VW Jetta (2009) Does anyone else think the windshield wipers are too slow, even on high?
Nope. My 2006 GTI clears my windshield quickly even in heavy downpours. There is a small adjustor located on top of the wiper arm. Set it on its highest speed. Might want to check owners manual, too. It might be different on your 09.
Q: I have a rondave and the windshield wipers are only wiping half way how do I fix it
It could be the wiper motor. Now if it comes back down and hits the car, it could be the wiper arm. If you had the arm replaced or taken off for some reason it could not be set right. If you done none of that it's most likely the wiper motor going out. Both are easy to do, just look it up on YouTube under your car.
Q: Alright so basically my towns going through a blizzard right now. after getting in the car i went to wipe the windshield wipers real quick and they didn‘t move. i wiped them again and heard a somewhat loud pop almost like a loud crack of a knuckle. I cleared the snow and nothing moved again. After a rough drive down the block to my house i looked furthur into it. When i turn the wipers on high i hear the motor running like the normal squeek it usually does but the wipers don‘t move. What could be some possible causes and solutions to such a prblem?
wipers are designed to wipe rain water and wash the windshield, if the windshield is loaded with snow or iced up it is a little hard on everything that works the wipers, this is what i understand ththat'sappening with your wipers, when you turn them on you can hear the motor running but nothing is happening due to snow or ice build up on the windshield, ok there is a bar/shaft or rod not sure what it is called, it goes from one wiper to the other that bar is connected to another bar that runs to the motor, the shaft sticking out of the motor has an arm about 2 long and has a ball on the end of it kinda like a trailer hitch ball but about the size of a small marble, the shaft that connects to the ball on the motor must have popopped off the ball,or something broke like the ball or the shaft the ball is connected to, you never mentioned what kind of car you have, those parts have to accesable somehow, the panel behind the hood with the louvers on it if you can see screws or clips running along the front of it from fender to fender you can only see it with the hood up, if that isn't removable then you have to access it from under the dash, from now on if it is snowing or iced up before you turn your wipers on pull them away from the windshield to make sure there not stuck on the glass and remove any snow before you turn them on all that extra stress will cause them to weaken and start making a knocking noise hope this helps you good luck!
