- *facepalm*. To wipe the windshield, particularly to wipe water off of it.
- Q: Its barely raining. In fact, its not raining at all. Its just road mist spraying up from the car in front of you. Why do you feel the need to put your wipers on the highest setting possible, like there is a hurricane approaching? Do you realize that I want to ram your car a million times because its so dang annoying? They make different speed settings for your wiper blades. Please, I am begging you, use them accordingly.If you do this, why?? If you don't, do you find this as annoying as I do?
- Wow! I never noticed what setting other driver's have their wipers on but I do notice if they don't have their headlights on in the rain [such as in NJ or NY where it is the law] or if they have both headlights and fog lights on when only one or the other is necessary and I only notice that because sometimes my eyes are tired and sensitive to the light, so it does bother me for that reason. But I couldn't care less whether or not they have their wipers on. Maybe some of them do it because the wipers run smoother at high speed with less noise and drag on the windshield? I don't know?!

- Q: I have a 1996 Sunfire.Last winter, my boyfriend was scraping ice off of the windshield so he could take my car to work. and I have no idea what he did to them, but after that, when you shut them off after using them, they stop in the upright position, so they‘re just hanging out in the middle of the windshield. They work fine, but they just stop in the wrong place. Does anyone know why they‘re doing this and how to fix them?Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!!
- Sounds like what happened when he cleaned the ice off the window was pulled the wipers up and moved the gears or at least the stop. If they travel all the way, then most likely its where the stop is set at.
- Q: The wiper on the drivers side runs normally for a minute or two but then it starts to swing over to the side of the glass. Last night it caught on something and I lost the blade (of course in the pouring rain and on interstate), replaced the blade at the first place I got to. Anyway how can I fix it to keep it on the glass and prevent this from happening again? We are using the sizes it calls for and it has done this since we got the car in October.
- Linkage on rotating arms are worn or check the splines to where the wipers arm is attached to. Splines can be eaten out. The only other thing is to buy smaller wiper blades or fix it!

- Make sure that you are using the correct length. Go to Autozone, or similar, and have them look in their computer for the proper length. A 1 difference will make the noise.
- Q: Oktoday I was driving and it started to rain so I turned on my windshield wiper.the wipers get stuck in eachother, I pull over and gently untangle them. - sounds to me like it may be the motor in the windshield wipers not working properly. This happened to mine a few years ago. I got the parts at an auto wrecker. Paid about 100 bucks in total for them to put it in and buy the parts I needed.
