Q: My 95 Acclaim‘s windshield wipers are acting up: the arms will go up, but gradually the passenger side wiper stops going down--it will stop a few inches up from level, and then as the wiper cycle progress, it stops a few inches farther up. Eventually, the whole thing gets out of whack, and the passenger side wiper will actually swing over to the driver side of the windshield, knocking that wiper completely off to the side. What might be the problem? Recently snow froze the blades, but that‘s all gone now. I‘ve searched, and it sounds like it might be a problem with the return spring. I‘ve never had problems with it before today. Any ideas? Also, if you have expertise in the area, how much will a fix set me back if I go to a decent (read: honest) mechanic? Can I fix it myself (no experience)?: Sounds like the nut at the bottom of the wiper arm is loose. Turn off the wipers so they are in the parked position. Adjust the passenger wiper to where it should sit. Tighten the nut at the bottom of the arm.

Q: My windshield wipers make that chatter noise when they are turned on. I tried Rain X and followed the directions, but that just made them worse. Any ideas on how to make them stop doing this? The blades, old ones and the news ones, both make this noise. I adjusted them too, but nothing seems to work. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Q: My windshield wiper keep getting stuck when they reach their upright position, yet the motor continues to run as if it‘s trying to force them back down. The motor will continue to run even after I turn the wiper off until I get out of the car and force the wipers back to their original position. Any ideas what could be the problem?: i would take off the cowl vent were the wipers bolt on to and look at the metal arms there on and see if there is any restriction in the system or if the wiper motor it self going up but i have a feeling theirs some thing lodges in the way to stop if from completing it full cycle

Would wrapping in plastic work?: Place large trash can liners on the windshield under the windshield wipers to keep them from freezing onto the windshield and avoiding having to scrape the windshield entrey. Spray the wipers with WD-40 to keep the snow and ice from sticking to the wipers themselves.

Q: So the wiper just stopped moving even though I hear the motor running. everyone I have talked to said it just needs to be tighten. But I am having an issue trying to figure out how to open the base of the blade to get to what I need to. Can anyone tell me is there something special I need to do to open it???: To remove the wiper cowl you need to remove the wiper arms, lower windshield molding, and you will have bolts under the hood and possibly under the fenders. You may nee to get a Haynes or chilton repair manual on your car to find all the bolts. Wiper cowls can be tricky some times.

Q: Hi, I have a Chevy Malibu (just that, not the classic, not the lt, maxx or etc. Just a regular malibu) It‘s a 2005. I need new wipers, probably from a store like auto zone or something similar. Does anyone know what size and kind and any other specifics I may need for it? I want a good kind, not the cheap ones, but doesn‘t have to be the most expensive, but on the higher end.: Any retail store like AutoZone should have a computer or system where you imput your vehicle information that will tell you exactally what size wipers you need. After you find the size you need start reading the packaging of the different brands and if you still can't decide then ask an employee for their opinion.

Q: I notice that it only stops working when it is cooler outside i don‘t know what is wrong any suggestions once again it is not the fuse.: Check the connections or change out the multifunction switch that does the turn signals, interior light when you turn the dash ups all the way up, and windshield wipers. They love to get intermittent on you when it's the most inconvenient.

Cream is skimmed, leaving skim milk with a very small amount of partiulates.
