Q: I cant get water to flow though the motor It seems like the pump isnt working any advise!
You should never ever start your engine without water to cool the impeller or it will burn the impeller vanes in the first place. As described, you have to split the lower from the upper case, there you find the pump, replace the impeller in side of it, get a manual first for the rebuild. And hope that the vanes are still there or you gonna have to find the pieces that came loose and entered the engines cooling circuit and clogged it up. Good luck!
Q: When you are replacing a water pump on a vehicle, should you replace the timing belt on the vehicle as well?
No. However I think you may be confusing the timing belt with the fan belt. Typically the timing belt is located within the engine. Some european models require this belt replacement. Typically 75 to 90 thousand miles. The fan belt, which is the belt that you can see in the front or side of the engine does need replaced occasionally. However just because you are changing the water pump doesn't mean that either of these belts need replaced. If the fan belt has cracks in it, then yes I would go ahead and change the belt at the same time that you are having the water pump changed.
Q: I own a 2003 Kia Sorrento and recently I was driving and the car completely died. I had it towed to the dealership and the said that the engine was gone because the water pump failed causing the timing belt to snap. Does this sound right? I feel like I am being duped. Its a procedure to replace the water pump at the same time when the timing belt is replaced because both involve the same work, now , not all the mechanics follow this procedure, if the bearing in the water pump froze that is enough to cause mayor damage, they might be right , check your records if you were charged for water pump and belt then you have a case.

I just replaced a water pump on my C Class 220 cdi it cost me ?40 for the pump and under an hour to change it ,but it was gone and you could hear it was gone,so i doubt if its the pump,it may be that the thermostat is jamming ,or if the water is boiling over its much worse it could be the cylinder head gasket but you should definitely get a second opinion and avoid the mercedes dealers they just charge an arm and a leg good luck.

Pump power frequency operation, speed is rated. Frequency conversion actually adjusts the speed of the pump (the speed becomes smaller), and the flow of the pump moves parallel and downward. As for efficiency, it depends on the operating conditions of the pump. Does it deviate or run to the minimum efficiency position of the flow curve of the pump?.
Q: I have septic tanks. My toilet flushing water is filthy and the water pump runs for a long time and sounds strange. You're trouble could be one among two.....The gauge cluster could be bad and want exchanged out(the dealer does no longer restore them),or the gasoline sender(or flow/level sensor)which is attatched the the gasoline pump(does no longer include pump)could be inaccurate.The vendor or repair facility easily makes use of your old sender when changing the pump(which is a dumb thing to do once they have already got the tank out of the auto).And oh incidentally........A GMC is nothing more than a re-badged Chevrolet....And were considering that 1996 once they stopped making GMC seperate on the truck and bus plant and diverted all manufacturing to the Chevrolet crops....Equal construction line,distinctive title plates,do not let anybody fool you about GMC being reliable grade,no more durability...Just more money !
