Q: I recently blew a 25a fuse in a mini fridge which was soldered in. I currently don't have a 25a fuse to replace it with so what would happen if I used a 30a fuse instead?
It is never a good idea to replace the fuse with one that is higher rated. The fridge was designed to handle up to 25A and anything over that will do damage. You could melt wires and start a fire, or on a lesser note do damage to other parts in the fridge. Since this is a solder in fuse, then I would take the time to get the correct size fuse and solder that one in. You may do it and get away with it, but then again you may not. Is it really worth it? Get someone out and see why the fuse blew to begin with. Finally, if you do decide to replace the fuse with the 30A and that one blows, do not put another fuse in the device either get it fixed or get a new one.
Q: I bought a Yamaha subwoofer from some dud for $40 and the little red and black things don't workthe subwoofer has built in power and umm I tried plugging in 2 different speakers and they don't work.the hole to put in(red n black) is this screw and I'm guessing you put in the output right? is there anyway to fix this?model no. is YST-SW150
Take the bass driver out of the cabinet, take a flash light and look inside to see if you can see any lose wires, or damage if you do see lose wires solder those wires back where they belong reassemble the unit and try it outif there is something else wrong and there are no lose wires, you may have to replace a resistor or relay or it could be a fusedownload a service manual from the Internet and use that to find the fusecheck all components for damage or leakage.if you find something that looks blotted or is leaking look in the service manual for the proper value buy a replacement part of same value and replace it.but just try replacing the fuse firstfuses come in all sizes and shapes so sometimes you cannot tell where it is just by looking
Q: after a ride i noticed my neutral light, tachometer, blinker lights and gauge, and brake light were not working anymore. im not good at electrical but i took off my gas tank and seat to follw the wires and i didnt see anything that looked like it wasnt getting contact, and i also checked my fuses. any thoughts?
Now that you're satisfied with your fuses and connections, check your relays, and wiring between connections for any place where the may get pinched. Also check mounting of all the affected devices for a good, clean, rust free and solid mounting to ensure good grounding of those devices. It sounds like the failure of any one of these components affects them all.
Q: i understand you need the battery to get a car started and the spark plugs, but what else is used in a car to get it to start? i ask cause when i try to turn it on sometimes it wont start right away, the battery is fine my sparks are good, but the car still has a hard time starting up.
It's not necessary to turn it on every day, as running the car for a few minutes probably won't get to full operating temperature. But highway driving about once a week for a half hour or so is good for the engine especially in colder weather; highway driving will burn out the water condensation in the engine (which contributes to rust and water contaminating the oil). It's the stop and go city driving that puts most of the wear on the engine. Whenever the car sits for a while, I'll see milky condensation on the oil filler cap, highway driving takes care of that. Though with the $4 gas I'm not making those highway trips as much.
Q: helloI was installing a GPS tracker in ford Mondeo so i needed 12+ volt from the car. and I take one from driver side under the plastic that' need to the driver knee. there I found many wires and I found red wire I took the 12v+ from it. but by mistaken that wire touched the car ground and now there's no electricity on it I've checked all fuses under the glove box and all fuses near to the engine and non of them was burned out please what should i do
There must be a blown fuse. The purpose of a fuse is to break the connection if the circuit becomes overloaded, this prevents electrical fires, and other dangerous situations. Blown fuses are not obvious if you just glance at the fuse box, you need to remove them in order to see the conductor. I would look at a wiring diagram, find the components on the diagram that are not working, and trace them back to the fuse number and location. This problem can only be a blown fuse or fuseable link.
Q: I also here a thumping noise on the passenger side dash board when I turn the vehicle off what should I do
It sounds like the ac compressor clutch is bad. How to troubleshoot: Unplug the A/C compressor clutch wire and replace fuse and turn on A/C. If it does not blow, it is not anything in the wiring to the compressor. If it blows without the compressor plugged in you are going to have to check wiring and components from the compressor back.
Q: I have a 94 town car. The check air suspension light came on. The compressor sounds fine but I want to check the fuse which this might also be the problem. I kno its under the hood in the fuse box, but which one is it? Anyone? Thanks
As was said, if the compressor is running, the 30 amp fuse is fine. There are a number of components that can make this light go on, does your compressor run all of the time? If so it could be an air leak, on my '95 town car the ride height adjuster needs to be replaced, it signals to the compressor to keep running even though the car is at a proper level. This blows the 30amp fuse. Until I can get a new rha, I am just keeping the switch in the trunk off, if it looks a little low I turn it on until the rear end is up, this happens mostly when the temps. drop and the air molecules contract. To nail down your problem take it to a dealership, they can run a diagnostic test on it.
Q: I have a rotel RB-850 that won't turn on after working fine forever. Power light does not come on. Someone suggested it might be a blown fuse.
I repair these - it is never just the fuse! I urge you to not attempt to just replace the fuse. Fuses do not go out due to age, they blow to protect other components from further damage and/or fire (no, I am not kidding). The amplifier requires service by a qualified technician. There are no user replaceable parts inside. Those Rotels were good units and worth the repair. Your best bet will be a stereo/home theater store that does repairs, although you may find a TV repair shop that has an tech that knows vintage audio. Now put that screw-driver away before you hurt yourself.
Q: Any schematics would be very helpful, or an exact fuse location. I know it should be in the panel, but I do not have an owners manual. No power is getting to the fuel pump, but is getting to the sending unit. Thanks fo your help.
It is in the fuse box by the drivers left foot. you have to pull the fuse panel off and then the panel that it attaches to. In my car it was the black relay in the front of the fuse box. It isn't marked on the inside of the fuse panel.
Q: and whats something that you could use to represent fusion( a model of fusion to develop an understanding of fusion)??
Fusion requires a lot of energy to get started, because you need to overcome the electrostatic repulstion of the positive nuclei wanting to push themselves apart. Once you do that, though, the nuclear forces kick in and the reaction pays you back and then some with lots of extra energy. In the sun, hydrogen gets fused into helium. Eventually, starts fuse the helium into carbon and heavier elements. Really heavy elements are created in supernovae. On earth, we can create a fusion chain reaction in a bomb by using a fission bomb to implode a hydrogen core and get fusion going. We're trying to create sustained fusion by using magnetic fields to contain the hot plasma. This approach is promising, but hasn't yet produced results (keep your fingers crossed).
