He had to synchronize two generators at that point. I'm sure you can find the answer there.

Thanks!: I have NEVER SEEN a 50 KW generator that runs on GASOLINE anything that big will run on either Diesel or Propane or LNG and usually Diesel. You don't figure it in cost per KWH, anyway a 50 KW genset will probably be driven by at least a 100 HP cat and at 1800 RPM that would be about 10 to 12 Gallons per hour. or 288 to 300 gallons a day maybe more it would depend on a lot of things, like how old the diesel was and how heavily loaded the generator was.

Q: If it is not run continuosly in what intervals should it be stopped and what is the standstill time?: It is not good to run a Diesel generator throughout the year without stopping. It requires regular stopping for maintenance, at least once a week for cleaning or replacement of oil filters and replacement of parts.THE SHUTDOWN MAY LAST 8 OR !6 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE PARTS TO BE REPLACED.

By nature all generators generate their output voltage in cycles as they rotate, or even as they go back and forth for a linear generator. Therefore they generate AC, but the commutator converts this to DC. The commutator is a rotary switch that reverses the connection at the correct part of the rotation so that the current always flows one direction. That is DC, direct current instead of AC, alternating current. Sometimes AC generators may be called an Alternator. A shunt generator simply means it is self excited, that is the field magnet is connected across the generator's output, rather than having a separate DC generator for the field.

Q: i want to put three phase current of two diesel generating sets in only three phase.: you will need to govern them together, other wise if one is running slightly slower than the other the slower one will act as a motor and not a generator/ alternator. so both must turn at the same rpm speed. then its just wiring configuration delta - delta or Y - Y configurations.

Q: I have a Kubota GL7000 portable diesel generator. now I've followed the recommended maint. schedule on it, new fuel filters, oil filters, oil changes, etc. I have just under 1,000 hours on it right now, it smokes a little when it's cold but when it warms up it runs nice and smooth and with no smoke, it seems to me that it's running really solid and I have no complaints or problems, but I'm curious how long a generator like this (2 years old) should last me?: Just give it a lot of love and it'll last a real long time. haha And when it dies, get another. Don't worry about it.
