- Q: I am planning to make a overflow box for my 55 gallon saltwater tank and need to know whats a good pump to get the water back up???
- Rio pumps are inexpensive and are very very durable. I highly reccomend them. I keep my sump level fairly low so that when i see bubbles in the display tank cause the pump is sucking a little air, i remember to add top off water. My pump sucks air about once every other week prolly for a few hrs at a time, until i get home from work and its still going strong! (I know this isnt the best way to do it, but if i dont run it low enough for it to suck air i totally forget to add top off water). I havent had to replace the pump yet. I also replaced my outdoor garden fountain pump with a rio. It sucks up leaves and junk all the time with no problems (except when the leaves cover where it sucks the water but thats not the pumps fault lol)
- Q: i need help on how to replace a water pump oil seal in a 2001 rm80...i looked everywhere...if you can get a video or detailed info that be great, thanks
- Drain coolant - #13 drain bolt Remove hose from water pump cover Remove water pump cover - #12 Drain oil Remove R side cover - #1 Remove circlip - #23 Remove water pump shaft - #19 Pull out water pump seal - #20 Note the direction the seal is installed Tap in new seal This entire procedure is explained in detail in your service manual.
- Q: We usually wait 4 - 5 minutes for hot water in our master bath. I've been looking into ricirculation pump systems. This would have to be a retro-fit system since some of the lines run through concrete slab making adding a return loop on the line non-feasible. I have found some people comment on simply using a by-pass valve system without a pump (ie. Hot Water Lobster). We do have hard water which I've also read that can present a problem with pumps dieing quite quickly. While I'd like it, I don't need 1 second hot water, but I can't stand wasting gallons waiting for 4-5 minutes. A reasonable 15-30 second wait would be a huge improvement. Has anyone had reasonable success with the bypass valve without the pump or should I plan on getting the pump too? Thanks in advance!
- get a under the counter water heater. it will fit under your vanity if you have one and give you several gallons of hot water until the other water line brings in hot water.
- Q: i need to know how the water pumps, how it transports, where it goes, and how the structure is used to control the direction of the flow. Please help? I'd really like to know., thank you in advance!
- you're saying that your pump used to function precise in the previous, so if the pump is in sturdy situation, the elevate should not be too great so we are able to rule that out. it sounds as though to me that the gurgling sound may well be made by potential of sucking air, and for this to ensue, it would be a concern on the inlet area of the pump. If the guy who repaired the pump is familiar with what he's doing, it won't be the pump, so we are able to rule that out. That leaves the pipe and any fittings between the pump and the foot valve that could desire to be on the top of the pipe. attempt working the pump, and pouring water over all joints and fittings, one after the different, if the pump is working precise, a slurping sound would be heard on the leak. The pump could have a priming factor, a screw in plug, someplace on proper of it. With the pump stopped, get rid of the plug, and pour water into the hollow. you will possibly desire to have the skill to fill the pump appropriate up, and the water stay at that time, without draining away. If it wont hold the water, the valve on the backside of the pipe is the two wiped out or has something like a stone or gravel struggling with it from working precise. As you have disconnected this pump for upkeep, it would have needed priming besides, that's the filling up with water. it is too plenty to ask a dry pump to enhance water any peak, so in step with danger you do not have a concern in any respect. sturdy success
- Q: ive been doing repair work on an old 86 jeep cherokee and when i let it idle there is a water leak, me and my dad came to the conclusion there was something wrong with the water pump. i cant find the manual and i dont even know what im looking for, so where would i find the water pump and how would i go about replacing it?
- For 2.5L 4.0L Engines Some vehicles use a serpentine drive belt and have a reverse rotating water pump coupled with a viscous fan drive assembly. The components are identified by the words REVERSE stamped on the cover of the viscous drive and on the inner side of the fan. The word REV is also cast into the body of the water pump. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Drain the cooling system. 3. Disconnect the hoses at the pump. 4. Remove the drive belts. 5. Remove the power steering pump bracket. 6. Remove the fan and shroud. 7. If equipped, remove the idler pulley to gain clearance for pump removal. 8. Unbolt and remove the pump. To install: 9. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly. 10. Using a new gasket, install the pump and tighten the bolts to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm). 11. If removed, install the idler pulley. 12. Reconnect the hoses at the pump and install accessory drive belt. 13. Install the power steering pump bracket. Install the fan and shroud. 14. Adjust the belt tension and fill the cooling system to the correct level. 15. Operate the engine with the heater control valve in the HEAT position until the thermostat opens to purge air from the system. Check coolant level and fill as required.
- Q: How do I replace the water pump on a 1996 Mercury 200 hp outboard engine? I have the parts, but want to make sure I replace it correctly. Thanks!
- good answers. forward gear is a good idea, just make sure the controller is in fwd. also. when you turn the driveshaft to put the housing over the impeller make sure to always turn it clockwise from the top.
- Q: have a leak and want to replace the pumphave tools, any thing I should know before getting started?I intend to:drain from lower hose of radiatortake of fan ( using a 1 1/2 wrench method)do I need to remove shroud first???remove fan, remove serpentine belt then remove water pump , use a little brake cleaner to clean new pump gasket area and existing engine area, put a little gasket sealer on gasket and replace pump.put everything back on, and refill with prestone Green coolant.its what is in there now and it says dextrol only but is that necessary?, most people in the know I ask say it does not matter...hows that sound?
- sounds like a plan. You probably need to remove the fan shroud, yes. Dont forget to reinstall the lower hose before filling up with coolant
- Q: What's so good about having a water pump on my stand alone ice maker? What exactly does it do?
- The ones that make cubes, not slices make a sheet of ice by continuously pumping the water over a flat evaporator. Then once the ice builds up it reverses the hot gas and the slab melts off falling on the cutting grid which cuts it in to cubes. Those that operate this way are much faster and produce more ice. No pump, no ice.
- Q: Where is the water pump located in a 1995 Toyota tacoma pick up truck. Please be as specific as possible as the the location of the pump. Like what is it undwr or next to...etc
- Look at the fan and you'll see a pulley...it's attached behind that pulley. You're gonna have to remove the fan and shroud, remove the belt, remove the pulley and then remove the water pump, clean the gasket surface, and install the new one the same in reverse.
- Q: HelloI am building a small budget underground room. On top of a very waterproof and airtight (besides vents) building, and running a dehumidifer inside, I would like to install a pump underneatth the foundation to suck out water from the soil surronding the building but I'm not sure what kind of pump would be best? Also how would b e the best way to set this up?
- What you want is called a sump pump. Most have a system built into them that is triggered by rising water. The idea is to have a hole beneath that allows the inevitable water that will collect a place to go, then when a certain amount gets in the hole, the sump pump comes on and pumps it out to wherever you have the hose or pipes ran to. Being underground, good luck keeping the humidity level down. It won't be easy, and much depends on where your natural water table is, and what it is during rains. Someone in your area might know all that, I don't.
