- Generally with lifts like the bench press one limb or side of the body will have more strength than the other. So to help this you need to start looking for muscle imbalances. This should help you raise your max by a good 20 -30 lbs. Do lifts such as a Dumb bell Bench Press and you will instantly notice you can't max press 75 lbs in each hand. - Put the boards at sticking point and do instead of normal pressing. Train for strength not mass. i.e. low reps. DO for 4-6 weeks. If you feel yourslef getting stronger reduce board height, at the end you should be presing a bit more. Look up Louie Simmons and westside barbell, they invented this and he has a new book out.

Good form is SIGNIFICANTLY MORE IMPORTANT than quantity for lower body lifts. * Squat ups are a pretty neat exercise, but not that commonly used. Lower the squat rack to bench press height. Get under the bar, set up in squat position, and explode up. Slowly lower the bar into the locks or whatever holds it, and after a half second, explode up again. It's important to use enough weight in which you feel the power, but light enough to easy control when lowering and to get a lot of speed of the explode.
