- Q:I want to know how to get a good cup of coffee using my new press.Thank you in advance.
- I have a French Press - plus a great Cuisinart coffee pot/machine, and a DeLonghi Magnifica 3300 espresso machine. I use the French Press very rarely, because I think the coffee is too weak - and I'm not sure how you can really get that great of a cup of coffee by pushing down on the grounds by hand. The DeLonghi has very high bars of pressure and the grounds are compacted into little disks after each cup.... The Cuisinart makes great regular coffee too - and brews directly into a thermal pot, which keeps it hot for many hours....
- Q:i mean internally what happens when ctrl+f9 is pressed?
- If you are pressing ctrl+f9 from the IDE that you are working then it depends on the IDE, or your configuration. If you are using Turbo c, this key combination compiles the current c source. If you pressing it when running the compiled c program, then it all depends on the environment that you are working in, or the program itself can handle the key combination. This environment means the command line interpreter, the shell and the OS.
- Q:I had to press 5 different types of leaves from my yard for part of my science project. I put newspaper, then the leaves, then a little more newspaper, then my english textbook, a dictionary, and a gallon of water. I let it sit for a week. My results:Australian bottle tree, Australian willow, kumquat bush, and lemon tree leaves worked perfectly.But... the ficus leaf (still got flattened and everything) is BROWN!What happened?I need to know ASAP so I know if I should try the ficus again or do a different type of leaf. I only have time for one more round of pressing before the project is due!Thanks :)
- Ficus plants are always a problem when pressing. The main reason is that they have latex in their tissues and many of them have relatively thick leaves. Not only do they turn brown (or even black) but the leaves usually drop off the stems. There are a few ways to make good Ficus specimens but the ones I've heard of require alcohol (enough to dip the plants in) and you'd need to be able to apply dry heat to your press for a few days at least. So, if you don't HAVE to have a Ficus, use something else (weed from your lawn would be easiest).
- Q:I really really want to increase my bench press. During school last year I did 135 lbs. I wanted to do better this year and do better next so I went to the gym and started lifting weights. I barely did bench press because I did not have a spotter. So instead I used dumbbells like depending on the day and workouts I do it rangers from 25-35 lbs. And I also chest press 110 lbs 10x and I do 3 sets. Today. I did 200 reps in curling ( did pyramids 2x starting at 50 lbs ) and incomplete it 2 with 5 reps per weight So when I tried to bench I couldn't bench at all. Is it cuz of this?? I did a bunch of triceps and chest exercises before this.
- The cuz of it is overtraining: 200 reps for one thing. Overtraining puts you at high risk of injury.
- Q:What does perm press mean on my washer?
- All colored garments get the permanent-press cycle. Colored clothes, such as polo shirts, khaki pants and dress socks, are permanent staples of your wardrobe, so keep that in mind as you drop them in the wash. The permanent-press cycle washes with warm water and rinses with cool, offering water temperatures and a mild-agitation cycle that's gentler on your clothes. These features clean, maintain and protect the fabric of your colored garments, which usually make up the outer visible pieces of your wardrobe. If it’s a one-button option, select either “permanent press” or “warm water.” For a two-button washer, pair the two together when washing colors.
- Q:So I have a barbell, and if I were to put my hands closer to the center of the bar, would it work my chest muscles more? Anything else about bench press is welcome.
- Not really-stick with a wide grip. Close grip would work your triceps more.
- Q:Whats the best pressed or loose powder to cover up acne scars and for oily skin? I use Revlon colorstay foundation i just need a good drugstore powder!
- Well, most setting powders are not the most pigmented, so don't expect the powder alone to cover your acne scarring. Try a concealer for that. Revlon colorstay is already a pretty heavy duty foundation with great coverage and tough as nails staying powder. It's one of the few foundations who can be worn without setting powder. But if you insist, Maybelline Dream Matte powder is a very well known pressed powder. It offers a decent coverage (light-med) without looking overly cakey. The packaging is really nice as well. Of you have lighter skin, try Rimmel Stay Matte. It has a light coverage, but is great at keeping your makeup in place for the whole day! My personal favorite is Coty Airspun Tranclucent Setting Powder. It's a loose powder that has a matte finish at first, but then transforms into a healthy, glowy look (not oily though!). It looks amazing over revlon colorstay. Downside is, it's translucent, but you can work around that with concealer. Anyways, good luck on your search! - Q:I work out regularly and consistently, but I've been lazy about the bench press for the past few months or so. I still work everything else out consistently, I just hate working my chest. I'm gonna start back up soon anyway.Anyway, the last time I benched (3 months ago), my one rep maximum for my bench press was 265lbs. Like I said, I haven't touched the bench since. However, I have been working really hard to improve my military press and have been very successful. I just started doing standing military presses with barbells and in the past 4 weeks, I've gone from my one rep maximum being 175 to 205 with perfect form.Can I expect my bench press to have increased as well as a result of indirect training?Thanks!
- Its hard to say from military pressing, if you're shoulders were weak in comparison to your chest before then its likely that when you go back you're bench will be higher. You see more indirect strength gains from doing upper back work. My bench went up (without benching) when i did lots of rows, pullups and so on. The other thing is that the long head of the tricep will get alot of work from military presses, this could also boost the bench strenght. I would say the determining factor is how your form is on the bench press. If you have a slightly wider than shoulder width grip and keep your elbows pointing inwards slightly then their will be more anterior deltoid involvement and so the military press will definately help. But if you use a wide grip and let your elbows point outwards, then there is alot less shoulder help, and so it might not help that much. Either way its a good idea to give your chest a break and keep your shoulders healthy :)
- Q:Can you get stronger by doing this, I don't have access to bench pressing.
- It depends on how much weight the barbell has. If you have a lot of weight, then yes you can get a lot stronger in place of a bench press. You can do dumbbell bench pressing, which is the same as a bench press but with dumbbells.
- Q:I am doing the p90x program and am very lean but am looking to build mass. any ideas on how to incorporate bench press into the program to build more mass in the chest?
- How about during 'Chest and Back' instead of doing certain pushup variations, do bench pressing instead. Of course I'd recommend you do some push ups but substitute out the ones you don't like (ones you can't do very many of) and do bench pressing instead. Don't overexert yourself though cos you'll have to do pull ups soon after. I wouldn't quite recommend this during Chest and Shoulders because you need your arms to be in working order and bench pressing will wreck them (fatigue them). I wouldn't recommend bench pressing here. On Sunday you could replace X stretch or a rest with a bench pressing session or session dedicated to all the exercises p90x doesn't cover. The common example is barbell exercises.
