- Q: I enjoy baking as a stress buster and I was curious if using a cookie press was difficult in any way (including clean up). I've never seen one in use, but thought it would give my cookies a unique appeal since I don't know many people who use one. I adore those old fashioned, European style cookies.
- No, they are not difficult to use, you just need to practice a little. I bought one last year at Christmas time, So I will give you a couple of tips: 1) Use the recipe that comes with the press. They made the machine, so they know what combination of ingredients will work best with their machine. Some cookie doughs are too stiff, some are too buttery etc. to work in the press you buy. After you learn to use the press, you can try adapting some other recipe. 2) Chill your cookie sheet. The dough will absolutely not stick to a warm sheet, which will cause you undue frustration. Chill it for a few minutes before you cook your first batch, but more importantly chill it between batches. I like to rinse mine with cold tap water until it is cool to the touch, then dry it really well and stick it in the freezer for a few minutes before making a second batch. 3) Get a good quality cookie press. I got a Wilton because it seemed easier to fill and it comes apart completely for cleaning.

- Why don't you ask your Uncle? Yes, you can press with an EZ curl bar but you'll want to keep your grip wide, beyond the bends in the bar. You can also press with dumbells..and you can do flys with them as well. Only you can know how safe it is. I can't know how you're training, so I can help you with safety. Just be careful and see if you can get a bench. You're going to need one. Good luck and good health!! ?

- Yes anyone can press counter charges (at least in NY), but the circumstances, situation and credibility go a long way in if those charges are ever followed through with by the police and the District Attorney. Just to add a case in point: in 1999 I was going through a divorce and my now ex brother in-law called and threatend to kill me, under the advice of my attoney I taped all phone calls at that time (Legal in NY). I had him arrested. Two days later he called the police and said that I called him from my house phone (he had it on caller ID) and said that I also threatened him, I was arrested fingerprinted and had mugshots taken. At the appointed court date I produced my home, and cell phone records proving I never called, he produced nothing. The charges were dropped against me. He was convicted of 1st Degree Aggravated Assault for using an electronic device to make a threat. He got 6mths in county jail and 2yrs probation. I got my Mugshots,Fingerprints, and Sweet Satisfaction all back.

- I think Loose powder is great for use at home because it's messy and goes everywhere. Pressed Powder is great for travel and does a great job for touch ups.

- You can use tissues or sheets of tissue paper, as well. There are two ways of doing it, either inside the pages of the book, or between two heavy books. Either way, put tissue down under the flower, and above the flower as well. Don't try to do a group of flowers together, as they get all tangled, and it will look better if you do them separately. It's important that you lay the flower down carefully, because once it gets shaped, you cannot go back and shape it again. I suggest bending the stem right where it meets the blossom so that the blossom can lie pretty much flat. Simply lay down a layer of tissue, then your carefully shaped flower, then another layer of tissue. It doesn't matter if you do it inside a book, or between two books, but you need to stack other books or a heavy weight over the top so that flower actually gets pressed. The amount of time it takes for it to press varies by flower, and they aren't usually considered pressed until a lot of the moisture has dissipated from the flower. I would leave them in your makeshift press for at least a month before checking on them. Take a look at the end of a month, and if it isn't pressed really well, don't pick it up, just put the weight back on top. You will know when it is properly pressed because it will hold it's shape, and you will be able to handle it without ruining the shape. Good luck.

- chilly pressed = greater virgin the olives are seeded/pitted, then pressed w/o any warmth. that's chilly pressed ror EV. as quickly as that around has been executed, they collect up the squished olives, upload warmth, and press returned. greater oil is released using warmth and better rigidity. that's in basic terms olive oil.
- Q: Theres been some debate about were my hands should be on the bar when bench pressing. I usually put my pinkys on the rings on the bar but my friend who is a football player says that my hands are too far apart. - The closer to the center your bench press, the more it focus on the chest and triceps. The further away you focus on the chest and shoulders. Cheers!
