- Q: I've bench pressed for many years and encountered this problem over the past 2months.During my first set I will get pretty intense pain in my right bicep.It will be fine after the 2nd set but never the less it is very uncomfortable, could lead to joint damage and reduces how much I can do on my chest during the session.How can I resolve this problem?Why is it happening?
- Well first off it could be from any number of things, now you say you have been lifting for years so im sure you know that the tricep is the secondary muscle when benching, however depending on how wide your grip is, and what the position of your arms are at the bottom of the press can put more strain on muscles other than your chest and tris, therefore your biceps could be called in to the press, ask someone to watch you and when let them know when the pain starts, is most intense, and when it starts to go away throughout the rep. then try moving around your grip and and relying on stricter form and have them watch you again and see if the point of pain changes, lessens, or increases. None the less you should talk to a sports injury specialist, NOT YOUR GENERAL PHYSICIAN, nothing against them, but those that are in the sports medicine field study specifically that.
- Q: Is pressed powder only for setting foundation or can you wear the powder alone without any foundation? Some people say that wearing pressed powder alone will give you acne, is that true?
- This all depends on your skin type and the powder type. Powder has many uses. Setting foundation, preventing shine, covering redness, and preventing streaking. There are different types of pressed powders. Some are more organic or designed for sensitive skin, so if you worry about acne I would suggest this kind. Some pressed powders are a bit thick and give that dreaded caked look. If you have dry skin I wouldn't recommend powders at all as it can give a flaked look or some times make your skin look dull. Also, if you have a lot of things to cover powder probably wouldn't work alone that well. Remember to keep powders light on the face and always always always wash off makeup before bed. - Q: effective shoulder exercisesalready doing military presses
- The military press is my favorite shoulder exercise. I guess, next would be dumbbell side laterals. A lot of people have problems with the upright row, due to shoulder impringment. So I'm not a fan of that movement.
- Q: I am a little over 21 weeks pregnant and just recently felt the baby move on the outside of my belly pretty good...acutally starting on Friday we could feel the baby kick or move on the outside if I pressed in the area I felt the baby move. I find myself pressing down, not hard, more often trying to feel the baby move...am I doing any harm? I know this sounds like a dumb question but I am worried now because I haven't felt the baby move as much yesterday and into today and I am afraid now that someone is wrong. Help! - Squats are way better as they use a lot more muscles than leg press. By doing this you will be able to get a lot more strenght than doing leg press because your body will release a lot more of growth hormone and testosterone. The best exercises to build leg strenght are free weight compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts and lunges. If you need any help just msg me!
- Q: Stop you from growing? Like your height. Because i've been bench pressing since i was 14 and im 17 now and i've been the same height ever since. Could this be why im not growing anymore? I stopped doing squats this year i did them since my freshman year in highschool (i was in football). Maybe that could be why too?
- I personally think that, since you're body wasn't done growing (and i doubt that at 17 it is done either...but correct me if i'm wrong ). Im pretty sure the bench pressing would actually just focus on your upper body therefore i doubt it had anything to do with your growth. However squats (if i remember what those are...) do use your lower body. I'd be more concerned with that, I've always been told not to do any kind of Weight lifting or anythin before i was done growing. My father almost had the same problem that you have, he weight lifted young, and never grew up really after 15. Coincidence maybe? meh...
- Q: I'm trying to work out my chest, but bench pressing isn't really option. I like to exercise on my own because I can work at my own pace. I know you technically can bench press without a spotter but I never feel safe doing it, I just don't have the coordination and it's really wobbly. Any common machine exercises or something else I can do for my chest that's as effective as bench pressing?
- press up is even better but make sure your arms are wide apart. if they are to sqaure to your shoulders, it focuses moreo n you triceps than pecks.
