They are about 30 bucks wholesale, so figure 50 retail. Look at one. I bet it's what you need. They are used on HVAC units. They have good head pressure for 3/4 lines. Even bigger. Q: It's been slowly leaking for awhile now, but today it dumped brown water out like a bucket, when I shut it off facing up hill.: you probably hit the nail on the head with the head gasket, but i believe there is also some kind of a heating device that helps to stop the water from getting into the engine. if the heating device breaks water can then condensate and get into the oil. i had to replace this device on my 93 grand am so i know it exists on some cars and trucks. ask around about this heating device. if it's the head gasket there is a STOP LEAK product that you can try from any auto store such as abc auto, pep boys etc. i've used it and sometimes it works sometime not. depends on how bad the leak is.

Don't you have the new pump to look at? If it's not driven by the timing belt, then you remove the 4 bolts counter-clockwise, then the pulley should slide off.

If indeed the water pump is leaking, you'd be foolish to leave it go; the timing belt can get wet, the belt and jump time and cause engine damage, that would be very expensive!! Save your self a lot of grief later by going ahead and replacing the water pump now; if you feel you're not up to the job, then have someone who knows VW's do it for you. Also replace the timing belt at the same time. An attempts to try and do a temporary measure will be met with an expensive result; a leaking water pump can also suck air into the cooling system and cause a hot spot, which could blow the headgasket, especially on a turbo model VW. Q: I bought a salt water filter system for my inflatable pool(14' X 40deep) and filled it up with 80 pounds of salt as the directions call for. Unfortunately Intex did not design the pump correctly and it leaks.There is supposed to be some copper ion exchange with the water as it goes through the system. I returned the salt water system. Even though one has this unit connected to their pool, they still have to add chlorine to their pool of the chlorine level isn't enough. This can be done in various methods, via a floating skimmer or have pellets put in hair lint pot or scattered over the pool surface, once dissolved in a bucket of warm water.
