- Q: QDX is a submersible pump. What does "X" mean?
- QDX is a submersible pump model, its specific meaning is:1.Q: submersible pump.2.D: single-phase power supply, three-phase electricity is not marked.3.X: pump, pump type is not marked.Complete submersible pump model will generally add rated flow, rated lift and motor power rating. For example: QDX40-8-1.5, meaning with single-phase 1.5KW motor, rated flow of 40 cubic meters / time, the rated lift of 8 meters under the pump submersible pump.According to the different relative position of pump and motor, submersible pump is divided into pump type and pump type. The pump submersible pump motor in the above, below, this structure greatly reduces the radial size of the pump, so much for submersible pump and small submersible pump operation. Submersible pump submersible pump on top of the pump in the following, it is divided into two types of internal and external type. The submersible pump carries the liquid through the annular flow passage around the motor, then cools the motor and then flows out of the pump outlet. Even though the pump is near the drain sump, there is no need to worry about the temperature rise of the motor, so the application is becoming wider and wider. External pump submersible pump directly from the pressurized water chamber after the impeller or diffuser outlet of discharged liquid, motor is cooled by liquid pumping. As the lower pump structure can work in a relatively shallow liquid, it is often used in submersible pumps for operating surfaces, especially the main structure of large caliber submersible pumps.
- Q: I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna and it has 80k+ miles on it. I guess it is the drive belt that is making the noise and I decide to have it changed. I can have the timing belt changed too because it is due at 90k miles. The dealer guy told me that I should also have the water pump changed too because of 2 reasons:1. the new timing belt will cause pressure to the old water pump. If not changed, it will leak in weeks.2. it is cheaper to do it altogether.Without changing the water pump, it would cost about $300.All would cost $1000+.My friend who also has a Sienna that has more miles on it, told me that he did not have to change the water pump.Your advice about the water pump is?
- Change the the timing belt if it breaks you can bend a valve the smaller import engine have what they call a zero (0) tolerance. For the water pump it runs off of the timing belt so since your timing belt is already off you should change the water pump.Another words you will need to tear the timing belt back out in order to change the water pump not if but when it goes out.The dealer price is not bad for a dealer you might be able to save a little more if you shop around GOOD LUCK
- Q: my car ran hot a few times, its a 2006 chevy impala LS with about 50k miles.I do alot of driving but never had a problem until now. I took it to get an oil change and they said that I need a new water pump. I really dont know what that means but im afraid to drive my car until i get a new pump. i called around a few auto places and no one has the part. I called the chevy dealer and they said part and labor is $600. any suggestions of other places i can check for the part? can i still drive my car in the mean time? is it safe?are water pumps usually that expensive?

- Q: To get at the timing belt on a Toyota 3.4L V6, does the water pump first need to be removed? If so, is there a way to tell how worn a water pump with 85,000 miles is? Like a loose bearing feel, etc?
- does the water pump first need to be removed? no. but is exposed during the procedure. ----- If so, is there a way to tell how worn a water pump with 85,000 miles is? Like a loose bearing feel, etc? you can check for pulley noise, pulley wobble and coolant condition as a precursor to it's failure, but even if it passes that inspection, it may fail in 1000 miles (example). that's the nature of consumable components. ------ since it costs 300-400 in labor to do those individually, it behooves one to put them both on the same maint schedule. replace both at same time. needed or not. every 90,000 miles. and this is a non interference type engine. no engine damage will occur as a result of belt failure alone. FYI, since it's not an interference engine, if this be an autotrans, you could go longer between belt changes as autotrans have smoother torque apps. purdy much constant torque. my V6 has over 200,000 miles on the belt. water pump too. and i have pristine coolant and no pulley noise. and i'm pushing my luck. i run the risk of a towing bill.
- Q: I live in a residential/country area, and I have a well pump down cellar. I notice that, even if I am not using any water, nothing is running (toilet, etc) it tends to cycle on and off every hour or so. The pressure is always good, so that's not an issue. I am just wondering....is it normal for it to do this?
- How long does it pump when it turns on? This sounds like short cycling; you might have a leak somewhere in the system.
- Q: a picture of a water pump and its parts, picture of cross section of a water pump how water pump works
- A pump is a device used to move liquids, or slurries. A pump moves liquids from lower pressure to higher pressure, and overcomes this difference in pressure by adding energy to the system (such as a water system). A gas pump is generally called a compressor, except in very low pressure-rise applications, such as in heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning, the equipment is known as fans or blowers.
- Q: 99 Cherokee I6. There is low pitched noise coming from the area of the water pump and alternator. Like a grinding grumbling. The water pump pulley is not loose and will not rock back and forth. Nothing is leaking. Tomorrow is forecast as icey and I have a choice of sending my wife 30 miles each way to work in the Cherokee or a 2005 Mustang, which is absolutely terrible in the snow or ice. I can get the car into the shop on Thursday for diagnosis and repair. Since the pulley is not loose I am thinking it will be OK for another day even if it is the water pump bearings. Thoughts?
- Check the Tensioner pulley it is next to the power steering pump. It is the most likely part to fail, and make this noise. Be Careful and place a long screwdriver on a none moving part of each part you suspect. If you carefully place your ear on the handle you can tell which part is the loudest. The engine will be running so please be careful or stop off at your local mechanic and have him fix it first. If it is a slight rumble you'll most likely be ok. If it is a loud grinding have her take the mustang or the day off.
- Q: My car is overheating and i don't know why just trying to rule out as many options as possible.Things it is most likely not: blown gasket/cracked head, both replaced 2 years ago and no tell tale signs I will be doing a block test soon, thermostat replaced it and put the old one in hot water and it opened, hoses replaced with new one two years ago, no leaks pressure test a few days ago. Things yet to be ruled out The radiator being clogged or not allowing good airflow, water pump impeller failure.
- Not nessesarily. because the pump could still be pumping , but leaking. When the thermostat gives out and the coolant gets low, then the heater will not blow cool air out. Anything that has a leak could be a cause for the coolant being low. Every time you remove the coolant from the system, bleed it by turning the bleed screw that is near the thermostat housing. be sure the car is hot enough before turning the screw slightly. You did not mention the year , model , and engine of the car. so I am assuming only. Radiator flush works well to clean out motors . Buy a can and follow directions. it may also be a coolant temperature sensor. This is a very important sensor because it affects the signals the Computer is getting. It may not run well. Have it scanned for a trouble code free at Autozone ot other store.
- Q: The role of water replenishing pump in circulating system
- In the circulatory system, the replenishment pump acts as a means of circulating water to the heating system and to supplement the water lost by the circulatory system. Most heating systems use a constant pressure pump to ensure that users of any degree of the system can normally cycle hot water. The fire unit is normally there are many, including the general use of the unit: water supply pump, fire pump, filling, pressure relief valve, pressure sensor, one-way valve, fire tank must maintain the required pressure, when the pressure drop or leak, the pressure sensor will fire a signal to the irrigation control cabinet, and control the cabinet module will give a water pump signal, such as a water pump after receiving the signal will immediately start running, to the fire in the irrigation water, irrigation water until the fire to the set pressure, the fire control cabinet will give irrigation pressure sensor signal, let the water pump will automatically stop running. Water pump and pressure regulating pump the same principle, are used for replenishment pressure.
- Q: Engine problem 1999 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles ---------------------------------------------------------------- I have a leaking water pump that has to be replaced. I am calling around getting prices and some people tell me that I have to do the timing chain at the same time and that will be a great deal more money. Can I just replace the water pump? It seems that the water pump only will be about 200.00 but both could be 500.00. Please help
