Q:There was a bill put forth in Florida giving stiff penalties (and confiscation) of motorcycles going more than 30MPH over the speed limit. What is your opinion? Should these bikes be banned, or should they have special licensing, or what? You tell me!
No. Bans are bad. All types. Perhaps it's time for graduated licenses. To be honest, I think if we do begin with graduated licenses it should be across the board. All vehicles. Not specifically one type (motorcycles). Make them drive slow small cars first. Want a bigger car? Prove you can handle it. Want a pickup? Prove you can handle it. Want a larger motorcycle? Prove you can handle it. There actually is a graduated system of sorts in use in the States already. Called a CDL. If you want a tank, get the endorsment. Air brakes, endorsement. Larger truck? Different class of CDL. It works. We live in a world where buttheads and politicians abound. The two will cause something we don't like unless we do something about it. But what?
Q:So in the next year or 2 id like to purchase a motorcycle. When buying one what should i look for as far az mileage and condition? Id bea first time buyer thanks! Any advice would help!
same as with a porsche, buy the newest that you can afford. EXa brand new ninja 250 is better than a 5 year old honda cbr 600. Cost about the same but you get new technology and warranty.
Q:What should I know about a scooter before I place an order, the brands, models, prices, replacements, and what else? Among all of these, what matters most, the parts, engine, brakes, or just the style?I‘m a motorcycle beginner and want to start with a scooter first.
What matters most? USAGE. What will you be using the motorcycle for. A 50cc scooter is useless on touring the Interstate. A 1300cc cruiser is overkill taking a 2 mile trip for shopping. For general usage, a 250cc motorcycle/scooter is easy to learn while capable of going anywhere.
Q:HelloI‘ve been looking at different motorcycles and all of them, when you pull on the lever, will make a nice click. Now, I wonder, what does it mean when it doesn‘t make this click? I ask this because there‘s one bike I like and that particular bike doesn‘t do the clicking sound.
Floating rotors. It's supposed to be an improvement. I haven't noticed any difference. The click took a little while to get used to. E: 3 Thumbs? My brake switches have always been silent. Mine ALWAYS work. I suggest you guys start checking yours.
Q:on a motorcycle, thanks!
it's helps cool the rotors, same with slots.
Q:I have a 2001 Suzuki GZ250 Motorcycle. When it gets cold at times it will not start unless it gets flooded with gas. For 2 years it did not have this problem until now. I have rebuilt the carburetor, changed the petcock, and put in a new battery and starter cable. It does not do this so much but it still does from time to time? One mechanic ripped me off about $800. The mechanic shop I go to now seems to be doing a good job and I have spent over $1700 with this shop but this motorcycle still has this problem. What can it be? Since it did not have this problem for two years I think it is fixable. Or am I being taken for a ride again with the shop I go to? I want to save this motorcyclee because everything has been changed on it except for the motor and transmission. When it does start it runs very well. It just has this one problem. What can it posibly be?
Without know exactly what its doing when you try to start I would guess that it might be the ignition itself.
Q:I am putting new pads on the front brakes of my ZRX1100. Got the new pads on one side but having little trouble with the second side pads. The calipers have 6 pistons, 3 on each side. I can get 3 on one side to retract far enough back but not on the other side far enough for new pads.Do I need to open bleeder valve on the caliper I am having problem with, or remove some brake fluid from reservoir on handlebars.
Go to your local auto parts store and get a caliper spreader they are about 10 bucks and worth it.
Q:what things should look for in when looking to buy a motorcycle?
Sit on the motorcycle. Make sure you can put both feet flat on the ground, and that your elbows are bent when reaching the controls. Can you safely back up the motorcycle a little bit? How about with the handlebars turned a little? If you're already a rider, and the motorcycle is used, have a look at it. If you can do a test ride, get it up over 40 mph. If it wobbles, or if the brakes pulse when you're slowing down (non-ABS, eh), then do not buy the bike. See if the turn signals, brake light, headlights, and horn work. If it has a radiator fan, does the fan come on?
Q:how to remove a motor from a 2005 z-10 kawasaki motorcycle ?
1/. undo every nut and bolt you can find and eventually it will fall to bits. 2/. buy the workshop manual. 3. Ask if your local Tek college do courses. 4/. go to www.carlsalter.cm and down load a manual, free. A Little tip for you. I bought a none runner ?5 paid for it, was a while ago, like 50 years, really, pushed it 3 miles home, ka nak ed, and having absolutely no idea where to start, simply kept undoing things until it was in bits, spread over the workshop floor. Spread out so i would know what came from where. Dad decided I was taking up too much room and put al the bits into boxes! Stripped every thing except the spoked wheels, and eventually finished the rebuild/replacements and tried to fire it up. Two stroke, no idea how to time it, asked my Dad, he did it fired it up, snicked it into gear and shot of backwards up the yard! Oops, timed wrong. Sorted that and off I went. Road it to college 10 miles every night for 3 years, through thick snow each winter, 1960's. Cost me fiver to buy it, ?30 to re-bore, build, paint it, and it never let me down. I had no previous, no manual, just a note pad and some tools. Sold it for ?30 and bought a B31 350cc, in a similar state and id the same to that. Next worked 2 jobs saved up bought a new Norton 650ss, awesome. Now on G S's for (too) many years and still do all of my own servicing etc. Don't do tyre swaps any more hard job with modern tyres. So, if i can do it so can you, so just surprise your self and go for it bro.
