Q: Motorcycle with ABS how to brake
You say is a kind of hydraulic disc brake it, disc brakes are unable to tune the factory when the tune is good Sometimes you hear the sound is really nothing to do not affect the very durable do not have to pick no tune
Q: When you brake, is downshifting basically partially holding the clutch until you actually shift?I'm fairly new, and I noticed if I somewhat squeeze the clutch rather than squeeze it all the way down I brake quicker. I haven't done it more though since I'm not sure if it is bad for my bike.Thank you.
Bike brakes are good enough that using engine braking by downshifting is kind of pointless.
Q: i learned that u can brake w/o gear changes in emergencies but do ppl brake like that all the time or only for emergencies? and do u always press the clutch when u brake?
No they don't brake like that all the time. I always press the clutch if I'm coming to a stop. otherwise I brake a little to reduce speed, then go again. Fag reported me for some dumb shyte. You asked the same question 5 times in one day and All i did was let you know you could add on to the original question instead of askin the same thing over and over again. Punk snitch! And then you got IM and email blocked
Q: Brakes fine 2,10,30,...NO TELLIN'? miles of riding on/off road ...Brake ( LOCKS ) ?? Pull over bleed screw to spread discs ---works fine then it happens again.PS A Complete new rear brake assembly was already installed. With the Same result??
Do as Dani G and Firecracker say. Also check that the rubber hose is not collapsed on the inside or the internal check valve stuck. If any of these are found, you will need to replace the hose. If any of this happens, it will not allow the fluid to return.
Q: They work when I have the headlights on and If I gently squeeze the front lever but they go if I push it any further. They won‘t work at all with the back lever. This has also stopped my electric start working except if I use it when I gently squeeze the front lever. I have a 2007 Kymco miler 125 if it helps.
The electricity flows from a switch. For the brakes, front and rear, you should be able to activate the switches independent of the levers. Test and see what you can learn. The brake switches should be completely independent of the starter switch, but since the front brake switch and starter switch are on the same harness, check the connection. It may simple come slightly unplugged. My guess is that you have a short in a wire somewhere, or simply a bad ground. Tracking electrical gremlins is the worst pain there is on a bike.
Q: I know how to bleed brakes, but is their a good way to fill brand new brake lines? Thanks!
No need to buy any tools. Better with two people, one topping up the reservour with fluid and one squeezing the break leaver. First pump until you feel some resistance then slow down until you see the fluid running out of your callipers without any air bubbles in. Must make sure that the nipple you have loosened is not too loose but not so tight that the resistance is too great. Do each calliper seperately and you may need to go back to the first one again. Don't forget the rear one either. Seperate line but the same process. One warning Break fluid is highly corrosive so don't spill any on your paint work!!!
Q: I have a 2000 SV650 and need to replace the front and rear brake pads. I need and estimate to see how much it will cost at a shop so that I am not over charged. Thank you.
I've never seen a fee for a manual at a shop, but around 200-275 sounds about right. The reason being is shop prices are 80-90 bucks per hour. A set of front and rear pads for a SV will cost about 80-100 bucks, and are a pretty easy install. In a shop you'll probably pay for 1-1 1/2 hours of labor, and shop fees, and OEM pads.
Q: left side lower ribcage is swollen and bruised and yes it hurts bad. I laid my motorcycle down trying to make a corner too fast.
You most likely broke a rib, if you go to the hospital they will xray and verify and give you pain meds but there is nothing they can do to help it heal -- no bandages or braces as you need to breathe and wrapping it would constrict that. Because xrays see through your entire chest cavity and you have ribs on both sides sometimes they won't find the break as it gets lost in the jumble of tissue and ask you to take xrays again for a better look. A hard knot of muscle will form around the break to help isolate and immobilize the break so the bones can begin fusing and healing. You need to stay off of your bike during this or you will prolong the process. Take calcium supplements to aid in bone production in case you are deficient. I'm not a Dr. but I play one on the internet
Q: I wanted to know what the MPG is on a NINJA 250r motorcycle before the brake in period. I just recently bought a 2009 ninja 250r and the gas is not lasting me long. Im pretty sure this is normal but i wanted to know or hear it from someone else.
Motorcycles are less efficient when new, the engines are still bedding in, that is why you have a break-in period. They also come from the manufacturer with a lower grade of oil, this is to assist in the bedding in of the engine, when it comes time for the first service the amount of metal that comes out with the oil is quite amazing. In a perfect world engines would be built with perfectly matched parts – in the real world manufacturing is just not capable of mass-producing to such close tolerances. To improve your fuel consumption, ride in the lower end of the peak torque range – this means being in the optimum gear. To really improve it make sure you are not carrying useless weight, avoid braking as much as possible – there is no point in riding quickly up to a traffic light that you can see is red when you can reduce your revs and approach to time it for when the lights change, do not come back hard onto the throttle gently feed the revs – overcoming the inertia of starting from stationery uses a mass of fuel in comparison; instead of braking hard for a corner use observation to judge your speed and slow on the throttle and carry more speed through the corner – 250s are brilliant for this.
Q: Why is the front brake pad larger than the rear wheel brake disc
the greater the better the braking effect, there is the back because the structure of the transmission system limits the size of the plate
