- Q: I will be moving out to okinawa with my husband. He has already been there for almost 3 years and just recently extended another year there. Will I automatically get Sofa Status when we get married or how does that work? We will also be living off of base. Am I going to have to get a visa also to work on base, even though we are married?
- I think the SOFA is sort of your visa. Meaning, if you have SOFA staus, you will not need a separate visa to be in Japan. As for work, SOFA has special rules and regulations regarding dependant and employment. You may need to consult with base personel regarding the detailed rules and regs. In general, much of the work that is not DOD or US Military specific, is supposed to be given to local residents.

- Ive never slept on a sofa bed that i thought was comfortable. For awhile as a teenager i didnt have a bed, so i had to sleep on our love seat that pulled out into a twin size bed, at first i thought it would be really cool, cuz it saved so much space in my room. But it was far from comfortable, even when the mattress was brand new. It was actually more comfortable to sleep on it folded up. not to mention the effort it took to pull it out and fold it back up. I have slept on a few futons, some are really crappy and you can feel the bars. But my grandma has one in her guest room that is actually really nice. im sure it was a little more expensive than most tho. It has wood slats under it instead of bars, and the mattress is really thick. I love sleeping on it. But there not as soft as a mattress, If you like a super firm mattress you might like it, some people prefer them. If you spend the money on a nice futon it might be worth it.
- Q: They seem very comfortable, but those thin wooden slats and those soft plastic hinges that keep them together don't inspire much trust. Is this a sofa bed only for occasional sleeping and not recommended for other activities(wink)?
- It's okay, not great, though. Very firm, so if you like that, good. I would not suggest it for someone who is overweight or has a bad back -- and certainly not for long-term. IKEA's Sultan mattresses are relatively inexpensive, and pretty good, if you're looking for a cheap bedding solution. I wouldn't look at the BEDDINGE as a long-term, every-night bed, though.
- Q: I have an old wing back style sofa that I'd like to re-upholster. I've tried slipcovers, but they never fit right and they slip and slide and just look messy. Is this something I could learn to do on my own, or is this too much of an undertaking for a beginner? I can sew, and have a sew. machine (a regular Kenmore, not a heavy duty). Any advice is welcome, thanks.

- I would recommend a neutral color. Ivory, gold, taupe, but something a couple of shades darker or lighter than your sofa. You could add a big mirror above the sofa to take advantage of the tall walls!
- Q: what color sofa goes with espresso colored walls?
- a terra cotta or rusty red sofa would look bold next to those walls. a sage green would look earthy and calming. beige or tan would look harmonious and neutral and warm. I wouldnt use blue or yellow with that wall color.
- Q: I can't find a retail store that carries sleeper sofa mattresses to save my life. I've found several places online that sell them... but if I don't like them I'm stuck. No one lets you return them. I've done my research and I think I want to go with either a memory foam sofa bed mattress or latex sofa bed mattress. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I should go?

- Are you writing about a sofa that you sit on? I have not heard about this. But if it is made of a polyester material, it could cause pollution and make the air you breathe toxic. I know a person who is allergic to polyester material. I think you need to add some more details and material to your question............
