- If you marry an active duty personnel, you are eligible to work on post providing that you get SOFA status. - Good answer below.........except all the chemicals you used may have set the stain to where it will not come out now. For many years there was a wonderful product on the market, you'd mix it up and just use to foamy suds, too wet and it stained the fabric. Rubbed it on and immediately dabbed it off with a white towel. Have had pretty good success with kitchen liquid doing the same. I'm not real confident now about your chances with the stains. No doubt you'll need to replace the foam inside as the pee has soaked beyond the fabric.
- Q: I live alone in a bachelor flat, and I want to buy a couch for my living area.I want a couch that can last for a long time (durable) and a couch that requires little maintenance as far as cleaning it is concerned. So I think a leather couch would be a good couch to buy because leather couches don't require a vacuum cleaners or something if it's dirty, all I can do is to wipe a stain with a damp cloth and that's it. But what worries me with a leather couch is that it becomes damaged easily and can easily rip and have scratches and stuff. Is leather couch the best option? - Leather sounds fine. You won't really have to worry about damage that much if you don't have pets or children around. Quality is most important, leather or otherwise. We scrimped and bought a cheap sofa, it has a removable slip-cover that is easy to clean, but we are regretting our cheap purchase. A good quality sofa will age much better. Keep the colour neutral and it will also stand the test of time with any decor changes you might make in the future too.
- Q: I'm sofa shopping and found one I like. It is 101 W x 44D x 42 H. My door is 33 W and 78 tall. I don't think the feet of the couch are removable. I'm worried it won't fit. Any help?
- Moved a few couches myself over the years - haven't been stumped yet. If the furniture store isn't delivering (most do) Not to fret it will go in by: a) remove all loose cushions (they quickly become trip hazards). b) pop pins in the door hinges and move it to a safe location well out of the way. c) position one or possibly two strong healthly person(s) on each end of the sofa d) lift and tilt the sofa forward so the top of the back is above the front of the seat e) get the first arm rest thru by angeling the sofa (the person at the outside end moves in the direction of the front of the sofa), straighten out and then do the same with the trailing arm rest (this time, the person inside moves in the direction of the front of the sofa) f) hopefully you are in the room where the sofa goes - cause the persons on each end are in desperate need of refreshment and a little breather. Note: You may not need to pop hinge pins if door swings 180 degrees. If it only goes 90 degrees this will give you almost 2 more inches to slip this bad boy through. Just have to share this too: Even got one into a mobile home by taking out the bay window. It was either that or dismantle (actually demolish) the porch railing - the window was easier and a lot less expensive to put back than the railing would have been.

- You can't take off fixed cushions because, by definition, they are fixed in place. What you might try is getting a used sofa without fixed cushions. That way you can remove the cushions and re-upholster them before you resell it and go back to your sofa without fixed cushions.

- Q: Matisse does not have a UTI as he does this once every two weeks or so. He used to do this alot but we changed his litter and it got better. He has two litter boxes that are fully cleaned every monday and thursday. He is neutered and an only kitty. No major changes in his world recently.He just peed all over our sofa again. We put him outside on the patio for the evening but I am looking for ways to stop him. Hubby wants to get a water bottle and spritz the little guy to teach him to not step onto the sofas at all. I am not against that but am wondering if any of the Feli-away sprays work? Or if there is some other reason cats do this?
- First of all, In my opinion, do not use a water spray bottle on your pet. It will only stress it out more as any physical discipline will. Second, cleaning the litter boxes daily may help. Cats like clean litterboxes. I prefer the scoopable litter. Makes cleaning much easier. Third, if your cat has already peed on your sofa, how did you get the scent out? Try using those enzyme cleaners which eat the odor causing bacteria, You do not want the cat returning to urinate or spray in the same place. It sounds like he is trying to communicate something. He is unhappy about something. Get a sisal rope scratching post sprinkled with catnip? This might get his mind off what is bothering him. Place a washable waterproof mattress cover with fitted sheet temporarily over your couch. The urine won't soak into your sofas fabric and you can wash out the accidents. Do you give your kitty attention for 10-15 minutes immediately when you come home from work or do you just ignore him? Try giving it more attention, toys, catnip, calm environment, and treats now and then. Maybe it is just seeking more attention. If he does pee on the sofa while you are home don't yell at it or punish it in any way. This will only create stress for him. Gently pick him up and place him in a just cleaned litter box and sroke his head afterwards. Reward his good behaviour when he does pee in the litter box with a treat, extra attention, or catnip and he may eventually learn that using the litter box is a positive experience. Also, I believe many things can upset animals, like household commotion, loud music or noises, harsh or toxic cleaning chemicals or room and carpet deodorizors. Do some more research online. there is a wealth of information out there and something will work. It just takes time, patience, compassion, and understanding. Good Luck.

- You may have faded the sofa. However, you could try cleaning the entire sofa and if you have an attachment piece and it is still wet remove as much water from that area as possible before hand. If the couch is faded, you may be better off just getting a slip cover. Good luck!
