Q: we received a free sofa with dual recliners the other day. it is in great condition and the price was right. the only problem is a smell of urine. any secrets out there to eliminate this smell?: Yeah, that Urine Be Gone or whatever it's called spray works pretty well. It's in a black spray bottle with a red label. I got it at Target.

Q: There are so many types of sofa. I'd like to get some suggestions....: only frm personal experience.... if you purchase a cheap sofa, you will get a cheap sofa. It will not last , it will fall apart and you will need a new one twice as soon. Look hard, and long. go classic. something that will not scream 2006. it will be better . you won't hate it in 6 months. get the BEST you can afford, whatever that amount might be. unless you only plan on keeping it for very short period of time... then go inexpensive

Q: There is some creme-white combination in the kitchen as well. We have white roll up blinds on the side windows, olive green wall color and creme sofas. Will white blinds look too strange or add too much contrast or will that contrast look good? The bottom of our wall also has a white (rim?) to it.: Cream and white can look a bit odd, but why not try linking them, by adding some cushions, wth cream, white and a favoured colour combination, say, stripes, or patchwork etc. This will link the two shades, and also add a zinger colour, which it would need. Chocolate and tans wth maybe a lime, or red or something like that would look interesting.....

Q: i dont want to re-upholstery my sofa. its too expensive. it costed me a lot. the stain came from sweat and dust.: Try woolite with resolve for upholstery on the sofa, spot shot on the carpet. if you don't have a steam cleaner, rent a rug doctor from your local grocery store, or walmart be sure to get the upholstery attachments. Buy a small bottle of carpet cleaner for the machine, a can of spot shot a small can of oxi-clean. Pretreat with the spot shot, add 1 scoop of oxi-clean to the water with the carpet cleaner clean the sofa carpet. Add 1 scoop oxi-clean with every water refill (and the capful of shampoo) it should all look like new. I use this method everytime I clean my light beige carpets it works great.

How do I get rid of this couch?: It's not hard to pull your old sofa apart. If you turn it upside down and rip out the fabric underneath you will be able to see the bolts that hold the arms to the seat. Start with undoing the arms then get a hammer and start to pull the timber fame apart. You should be able to pull it apart enough to start to throw some of it away in your normal rubbish and the rest should be able to store it without being in the way still your city's bulk garbage day. I see that some people have said to give it to charity. They will not take your sofa if its not in good condition. I have tried to get rid of a sofa like that but because it had a small tear in it they wouldn't take it because know one will buy it.
