Q: Is this really difficult to maintain? I have a 7-year old and we live in the tropics. How can I tell what material they use in leather match? and How can I tell if any real leather is used or not?: Ask at the furniture store. The manufacturers have to list the materials used in making them. Real leather sofas usually are Italian made. The better the leather, the higher the price.

Q: I understand there is a huge difference because one has a bed in it and one doesn't, but my question is which is more comfortable to sit on? I have the opportunity to order the same sofa just one has a sleeper with a $20 difference. My mom swears that the sleeper sofas are terrible to sit on. True?: Some are and some arent. Some will have a bar that is underneath the base of the couch where the cushions lie. Once there is some wear to your furniture then it is possible for that to get a tad uncomfortable. If the cushions are nice and fluffy and the bar is not directly underneath then I would think the sofa bed would be your best bet for the price. I would call and ask the manufacturer about the rod for the bed and make your decision from there.

Q: I have a few spots on my new sofa and was just wondering how to look after leather sofas?: Try scrubbing the stains with shaving cream. Then wipe with a clean wet cloth. Shaving cream is nothing but whipped soap that rinses off easily. The last thing you want to use on your sofa is overly sudsy soap. You'll never get the suds out. Any brand of shaving cream works, as long as it's the typical white foamy kind. The gels don't work. -

Q: Does microfiber start to turn rough and pill? I've had a microfiber sofa for about a month and its starting to feel grainy and pill like a sweater would, I can't imagine what it will look and feel like 6 months from now. I spoke to the store and they say they can change the fabric but will not guarantee it won't just happen again. Is this normal or did the store sell me something that is not really microfiber. The label says the covering is 100% polyester, is that what all microfiber sofas say? The showroom sofa was nice and soft not like mine at all. Thanks.: Microfiber is just a fancy word for polyester - a recent way to erase the image of the polyester suit from the 70s. The only thing that matters is the fact that you are not satisfied with the quality of the fabric so let the store bend over backwards to please you. I have microfiber sheets that are not supposed to pill - but they do, mainly by the foot area.
