- Q: I need to arrange my sofa/loveseat in an L-shape. However, both pieces recline and putting them too close together does not allow both pieces to recline without hitting each other. Spacing them further apart so they don't touch when reclined means that they are too far apart to share an end table. The space is about the size of two end tables. Two end tables butted together looks awkward.Any suggestions?

- the safest way is to ask a professional. Explain first and if you can show a picture(s) of the side of the house and the yard. I do not think there is an easy way out of this. There are small cranes that totally collapse. Examine the sofa for removable parts. legs, ends, back careful not to damage it. You might call or visit the store where it was purchased and ask for advice. good luck. the traditional way to lift a piano to a second story is to mount a block and tackle on the roof (if the roof is flat)

- Q: I've never heard of it before- but I would be more interested in dying the upholstery to the sofa if possible. I have a Hoover steam cleaner with and upholstery attachment that normally does a GREAT job, but this sofa is nearly white. With a mechanic for a husband and 4 cats, it just isn't working but the couch itself is in good shape and I can't afford to pay someone to reupholster it or buy a new one. - If you like to sew and are pretty good at it... maybe you would like to just make a slip cover? I would go to the library and check out some books on reupholstering.... depending on the style it might be hard. My mom made a slip cover to cover the body of her sofa and then sewed pillow case around the loose pillows so it didn't look like a slip cover (like one piece of fabric draped over it.)
