It is best to have a professional come in and clean it for you; the risk of getting the batting over-wet is too great and you won't know you did that for at least a month when the mould grows under and through it. Some places use a water-based cleaner and a vacuum type cleaner to clean sofas, but they know just how much to add to it to avoid over wetting it. You can freshen it up with things like Febreze, but actual cleaning should be left to professionals.

Q: How to get the smell of butt out of sofa?: If your sofa hasn't been professionally cleaned lately, call someone to do it for you. They have affordable cleaning packages that include other furniture as well. After having it cleaned, be careful how people sit on it, including yourself. Q: My family has had 2 microfiber couches for close to 2 years and they are light tan color, so with pets and kids, they are starting to look pretty shabby. I have tried Resolve Multi-Fabric and used that to wash the cushions, and it worked at first, until someone spilled a drink on the couch and I tried to get it out. Now it doesn't appear to be coming out too well and there are what appears to be streaks from the cloth I used (even though it was a white one).Does anyone have any ideas on how to clean the sofa cushions so that they will look cleaner without streaks?
