- Q:I have 2 small children and 2 cats. The cats (whom I have not declawed because they are indoor/outdoor), have tore up each corner of both my sofa loveseat while using them as a scratching post. There have also been a few accidents while changing my baby's diapers on the sofa. So I pan to get them cleaned and then slipcover them both. But there are a few styles of clipcovers ~ snug/hug fit, relaxed fit that hangs, and then a combo of both. I have noticed that the combo fit (the latest style) is most attractive. The problem here is that the snug area of this cover is on the exact spots that my cats used to scratch. I am thinking that they will be able to get their claws into this as well. And if they can, they will as they have done the same to every corner of every mattress in the house. So lets say I go for the relaxed fit, is there any suggestions of what I should look for? Any problems with certain ones? Am I wrong about the snug fit being a continual issue with the cats? Thanx!
- I like the stretch kind. They fit so much better. The cats are another problem. We just lost our 23 year old last month. You will have to retrain them. I used clear packing tape on the corners. She didn't like the feel. Matter of fact she found another piece to scratch. More tape. Good luck!

- You could always put a cut out piece of wood under there but make sure that you cover it where no one would ever know and maybe you could buy some padding for the crafts dept. in wal-mart and fill your cushions thicker and that will make them fuller and no one should know that you did that. It will work because the wood under there want let the couch sink and then you will have fuller cushions also.

- Q:I had a sofa specially made and a rocking chair covered, it cost me approx ?1,200.The company told me the sofa would last a lifetime, now only after 4 years the sofa is has holes in it where the material has worn away, it only has very light use, and my partner is the only person that sits on it,The rocking chair has had no use at all as it is in my spare room, so whether that will wear in the same way I do not know.I phone the company, and he said he would part re-cover the where it has gone in holes, but the problem is I do not want this as I am sure it will wear away again in a couple of years.Does anyone know my rights in this matter?
- Frankly, I don't think you are going to get anywhere with this. I would try to see if they would give you some money instead of recovering the sofa. If you get it recovered, the recovered parts won't match the rest of it. I'd see if they will give you a cash settlement. These kinds of warranties are really not worth much! Ask for cash!

- Yep - I had a Flexsteel sofa from the 70's. I just got rid of it about 4 years ago - not because it went to hell, but the color was just so out of style and I couldn't stand looking at it anymore! (gold and green) Flexsteel is not the top of the line, but I have to admit - It went through 2 kids and 6 pets and it lasted.

- I don't think so, no. You're now only given a sort of credit that enables you to buy one of anything in the VIP catalog each month. Personally, I hate that update, as well as the fact that HC Sofas have greatly depreciated in value. I spent thousands on that game and invested in those sofas, and look where it got me. I no longer play the game, but wish you good luck with yours.

- You don't say what fabric your sofa is covered with, if you are able to remove the cover I would advise taking it to a dry-cleaner and taking the bottle of nail varnish along with you so that they can give it a try.....if not then do a test patch with some acetone free nail varnish remover on a small spot of your sofa that is out of sight to check for colour fastness and then work slowly at the stain from the outside edges towards the centre....it may well look worse before it gets better....but best of luck!!!
