- Q: I am trying to assemble this IKEA sofa bed. Unlike all other Ikea products one needs to use a hammer to hit the plastic scews. One product that is popular is Pro's Choices's Citra Gel. A white creamy solution that cleans well and is easily rinsed out. Also, micro fiber material can leave water marks/stains if only a partial area of the sofa is cleaned. You need to make the entire surface wet/damp to prevent that from happening. - Q: So my mother has been looking to get a new sofa set. Her friend recommended talking to another friend who was giving away a sofa set supposedly practically brand new. When my mother received the set, the sofas were filthy and full of urine. I have tried everything. De-greaser, Clorox, ajax, vinegar, goo gone...nothing seems to be working. - If you are talking about stained upholstery, try Oxy cleaner or I had great success with a product called LA Totally Awesome. If you are talking about the smell of urine in the sofa, take off the covers on the cushions and take the foam rubber outside and let it air-out for a few days in a dry place. You can also take the cushion covers to the dry cleaners and they can get virtually any stain out. I do not recommend washing the covers as shrinkage is likely.
- Q: I have a small living room and have been trying to find suitable furniture that is not too overstuffed/big. The other issue is that the door is 30-31 inches wide and most furniture heights and depths are bigger than this. I have looked at Ikea's products and I'm considering the Karlstad loveseat or the new Sater sofa, which is a 2.5 seat leather sofa. Is Ikea furniture comfortable and durable. How good is the leather? - Q: I'm looking at this coffee table, matching end tables, and matching tv stand. I really like the clean transitional pottery barn look for my new apartment. The floors are a light tan, the walls will be probably also a light cream (its a small place so I want open-feeling colors). My problem is finding the sofa color to go. This is the SAME sofa in 2 colors (one is leather but I dont really care). Let me know your suggestions :)
- If you are paying that much for the coffee table alone, it better be solid wood or you are getting robbed. I would go with No. 1 also, but make sure it is comfortable. And, if you are one that puts your feet up, maybe you want to add pillows to that expensive coffee table. And make sure you use good coasters under your drinks or you will have stains. I would ask if the finish is a lacquer (finger nail polish will ruin it) or a poly. That way if something happens the finish, you will know how to deal with it. Ask the store if they carry small cans of the finish in case something does happen. And watch those baskets that slide in, do they have sharp edges or nails that may scratch. I love the sofa but I would need soft throw pillows and a throw. Use various colors to make it cheery.

- You may want to purchase a futon sofa cushion. The cushion should be the thickest one to purchase. It is about 10 and cost around $100- $200 in USD. Or contact a furniture store to help. I know those things get worn pretty quickly when you use it for every day use. P. S. Keep the old cushion for greater support if you find one trhat fits your needs and hopefully it will help the new cushion stay in shape longer too. I recycle what I can, so I hope this works for you.

- They have these things for blankets that attach like a guarder belt does to nylons. Got mine at Wal-Mart.
- Q: Matisse does not have a UTI as he does this once every two weeks or so. He used to do this alot but we changed his litter and it got better. He has two litter boxes that are fully cleaned every monday and thursday. He is neutered and an only kitty. No major changes in his world recently.He just peed all over our sofa again. We put him outside on the patio for the evening but I am looking for ways to stop him. Hubby wants to get a water bottle and spritz the little guy to teach him to not step onto the sofas at all. I am not against that but am wondering if any of the Feli-away sprays work? Or if there is some other reason cats do this?
- As long as nothing is physically wrong, I've found that the biggest reason for this kind of behavior is that he's trying to make a point. When possible, it's best to figure out what his need is and meet it. Better to solve the problem than to punish for the symptom. Maybe he does it when you've left him alone longer than usual. I knew a cat who did this because he was lonely. His owners spent more time with him and he stopped doing it. Litter box problems are also a common cause, but it sounds like you have that one under control. Putting him outside for the evening might just make whatever the problem is worse. He won't get why you're doing it and it could cause resentment. Giving him a little spritz of water could help, but be careful about doing it too much. I've used that technique, it's actually just about the only discipline you can use on a cat, in my opinion, but overuse can make a cat jumpy and unhappy. Make sure you do it immediately (if you wait, he won't understand why you did it) and praise him when he responds in the way you want. There are products that well repel a cat from a specific spot (I think Bitter Apple is one) and using them is better than yelling or getting frustrated. I'm just worried that in your case, keeping him off the sofa won't solve the problem, it'll just make him pee on something else. However, it might buy you some time to figure it out. In the meantime, use Nature's Miracle for the smell. It's the only thing that works, I've even used it on clothes! Get it at a pet store and follow the directions on the bottle (except I never bother with the foil). If the smell lingers, get a black light bulb, florescent is best, at a lighting store and it will show up any drops you've missed. Matisse -- good name!
