Q: i want to get some lounge furniture. is it worth considering fabric furniture... are they harder to look after do they wear quicker and look horrible after a few years... i'm not into putting plastic covers over everything like everybody loves raymond.: The lifespan of fabric depends completely upon the kind of fabric that is used. More delicate fabrics may wear out a little sooner but some durable fabrics like microfiber or heavy cotton canvas will definitely outlast leather. Both leather and cloth have to be cleaned regularly or else stains can set in permanently or the fabric can get cut. Fabric can be more easily repaired than leather. To me, the huge cost premium in cost that you pay for leather is not worth it if you can find some fabric furniture made of a heavy fabric. If you are going to get leather there are actually 2 kinds of leather, I forget the crappier kind but rawhide is the better kind that will last longer.

Q: Where can I buy the foam to restuff my sofa cushions. Also, which foam should I choose?: Any fabric store will have sheets of foam. It comes in all densities. Ask a clerk for a recommendation. Also, the job requires more than just putting the foam in. You usually have to wrap it in some type of batting. Ask the clerk for a recommendation.

If you turn it upside down and rip out the fabric underneath you will be able to see the bolts that hold the arms to the seat. Start with undoing the arms then get a hammer and start to pull the timber fame apart. You should be able to pull it apart enough to start to throw some of it away in your normal rubbish and the rest should be able to store it without being in the way still your city's bulk garbage day. I see that some people have said to give it to charity. They will not take your sofa if its not in good condition. I have tried to get rid of a sofa like that but because it had a small tear in it they wouldn't take it because know one will buy it.
