- Futons are great space savers but not really practical for every day use and the cushions never stay in place properly when you use it as a sofa. Plus they can be a bit low. If you can cut back on other stuff you want to buy then invest what you save in buying as good a sofa bed as you can. Much nicer to sit on and some can be folded away with the bedding in place so you don't need to find room to store the pillows and duvet.

- Hi, I don't have advice about companies but I have some experience in sofa beds, I think they are fairly comfortable for a night or two, good choice if seating is going to be the main purpose of the piece of furniture, but if you want something really comfy to sleep on and still use it for seating, go for a day bed with a pop up trundle, together they make a king size bed. I've slept on air mattresses and I think it's better to sleep on the carpet, they don't give you support, they are not soft, they are noisy and they loose air, I think they are good just for camping, and I would probably take a piece of foam instead of an air mattress.

- Q:I bought an Air-O-Space Sofa but it keeps deflating. If I inflate it in five hours it deflates. It does not have any visible holes nor any holes that may allow the air to escape and I always keep it locked.Is it supposed to deflate after few hours? Is it a common problem? Is there a way to fix it?
- The problem with inflatable furniture is that even a hole too small to see is going to allow enough air to escape over time to deflate your sofa. And since the hole could be anywhere, it's not going to be easy to find. If you could submerge the entire thing, you would be able to see air escaping, but that's not very practical. If it's still brand-new, you could try exchanging it for another one, but even then, it's only a matter of time before some seam weakens, or some small sharp object pokes a new hole.

- My toddler drew on our leather couch with a black pen! After I was through freaking out I tried the leather cleaners, the leather stain removers that came with the furniture and they did not work. What worked was alcohol, plain old isopropyl alcohol. It's sold at drug stores and costs less than a dollar. It worked. And I will never be without that stuff again! It got ink off my leather boots too!

- You can go to JoAnn Fabrics or your local hardware store. The store should have a vinyl and leather repair kit. This kit contains small vials of color that you will mix together to match your sofa. Then there is a little tool that gets heated and melts the color and you fill it in the slit. Well -- read the instructions carefully so you don't miss a step. if you take your time, you should be able to repair the cut so it won't even be visible. I also use this on car dash boards and vinyl seats. If you're not sure about this, get a couple of trial pieces and practice a little bit before you go for broke. Oh and if you need a small patch, you can turn the couch upside down and carefully loosen the dust cover on the bottom. Hanging over the sides should be a couple of inches of excess material that you might be able to clip.
