Q: My living room has brown carpet and brown/beige sofa. I would like to use like a sage or green curtain.Basically I would like to incorporate green somewhere. what other colors can i add or choose from?
Any color goes with brown and beige. I also have beige carpeting and a brown/beige couch and love seat. Our drapes, pillows, and other accessories are maroon, but blue, green, mauve, or just about any color would work.
Q: I live at home with my parents and we are getting new sofas for the first time in a long while. The old ones have a detailed floral pattern which I find very ugly and outdated, but my parents don't mind it. They are thinking about a similar pattern for the new sofas!I need your advice to suggest something more suitable. The room is a lounge with cream colored carpet and curtains, with off-white walls. The curtains have a goldish fringe and the room features a large fireplace which matches the walls. There is an upright dark brown piano sitting in the back of the room. Most of the rest of the house features white, brown or beige palettes. Please help! I'm no designer and I need your artistic input!

Q: I recently purchased a black arched sofa sectional with two recliners on the ends. I would like to find a long arched sofa table to fit behind it. Any ideas?
Try okorder . I bought one from them earlier this year. You could also run a search through any engine using curved console or sofa table. I just Googled it an got a bunch of options. Good Luck!
Q: my pet terrier has urinated on my sofa and it is now stained i cant get it off the dog is now dead but he.s left his mark any ideas to get it off
get a neutralizer from the pet store. It has an enzyme that eats away the odor causing bacteria.
Q: I'm having a really hard time locating a gray or pewter couch. I'm looking to spend around $200-$500.

Q: the sofa that the characters from friends sat on the big orange one in the coffee house. What was the name of that type of couch, I know it's vintage , i really want one but I can't seem to find any for sale anywhere!!! Thanks for your help
I don't think it has a SPECIFIC name but it seems to have a scroll edge to it, yes it's very vintage but I don't think it has a specific name. It looks as though that it could be from the Art Deco era, with the coloration and the distinction of it. Although the design on the back would assume it's more victorian than anything else, but I've used victorian sofas and this is no victorian. But I would suggest using that website the first person had suggested because you might find something similar to it. Good Luck!
Q: what color sofa goes with espresso colored walls?
a terra cotta or rusty red sofa would look bold next to those walls. a sage green would look earthy and calming. beige or tan would look harmonious and neutral and warm. I wouldnt use blue or yellow with that wall color.
Q: Matisse does not have a UTI as he does this once every two weeks or so. He used to do this alot but we changed his litter and it got better. He has two litter boxes that are fully cleaned every monday and thursday. He is neutered and an only kitty. No major changes in his world recently. He just peed all over our sofa again. We put him outside on the patio for the evening but I am looking for ways to stop him. Hubby wants to get a water bottle and spritz the little guy to teach him to not step onto the sofas at all. I am not against that but am wondering if any of the Feli-away sprays work? Or if there is some other reason cats do this?
As long as nothing is physically wrong, I've found that the biggest reason for this kind of behavior is that he's trying to make a point. When possible, it's best to figure out what his need is and meet it. Better to solve the problem than to punish for the symptom. Maybe he does it when you've left him alone longer than usual. I knew a cat who did this because he was lonely. His owners spent more time with him and he stopped doing it. Litter box problems are also a common cause, but it sounds like you have that one under control. Putting him outside for the evening might just make whatever the problem is worse. He won't get why you're doing it and it could cause resentment. Giving him a little spritz of water could help, but be careful about doing it too much. I've used that technique, it's actually just about the only discipline you can use on a cat, in my opinion, but overuse can make a cat jumpy and unhappy. Make sure you do it immediately (if you wait, he won't understand why you did it) and praise him when he responds in the way you want. There are products that well repel a cat from a specific spot (I think Bitter Apple is one) and using them is better than yelling or getting frustrated. I'm just worried that in your case, keeping him off the sofa won't solve the problem, it'll just make him pee on something else. However, it might buy you some time to figure it out. In the meantime, use Nature's Miracle for the smell. It's the only thing that works, I've even used it on clothes! Get it at a pet store and follow the directions on the bottle (except I never bother with the foil). If the smell lingers, get a black light bulb, florescent is best, at a lighting store and it will show up any drops you've missed. Matisse -- good name!
Q: I have just bought a new house with a terracotta carpet in lounge and I desperately want red leather sofas - will this match??? See, I kinda like the terracotta, but am committed to my red sofas. Maybe if i painted the 2 walls red and 2 walls terracotta? or burnt sienna? maybe a little mustard trim for the windows and skirting boards? Any ideas and views would be really really helpfu!thanks guys!
Without seeing the carpet and the red sofas, it's hard to tell. My initial thought is that it will not match, unless the sofa is an orange or coppery red. I wouldn't paint the walls red and terracotta, as you suggested. I think that would be too much of the same tones and you'd tire of it eventually. If you truly have your heart set on the red sofas, you could replace the terra cotta carpet. Or, you could lay a fairly large sized area rug over it, in a beige, cream, or tan color. You might be able to find a pattern that would incorporate both the red and the terra cotta tones. That would look nice under the red sofas and define a seating area. Depending on the size and shape of the room, you might be able to make another seating or study area, away from the red sofas, that would tie in but not fight with that part of the room. For example, in the other end or on the side of the room, you might be able to place two chairs, with a skirted table in between. For the skirt, I'd use a color that went with the area rug, such as cream, beige, etc. You could also have maybe a desk, bookshelves, etc. away from the main seating area. Tall green plants or silk trees, standing lamps, vertically hung art work, etc. would help draw the eye away from the floor, if you don't want to emphasize it, and up to the taller objects you've chosen.
Q: I'm looking at a Leddy saddle on Ebay--Item number: 300308266572. It's a beautiful saddle. The seller doesn't really know--can anyone tell me what a sofa seat is?
Having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company used to be called Leddy Brothers if I remember correctly. The Sofa seat is because of that roll on top of the seat next to the cantle. It was suppose to give your tush an extra stick to.
