How often does anyone actually sit in the middle of the sofa, right? A good salesperson will be willing to unzip the cushions and show you the construction going on inside. I recommend foam cushions that are wrapped in a blanket of down for more comfort and loft; also the down blanket can be [somewhat] fluffed.

- Here are two options for you: White vinegar sponged on to the area, Soda water ~ Shake the bubbles out and sponge. You would need to test the fabric first in a discreet place, to make sure either solution didn't fade the colour. Shouldn't do. I have used these for getting pet's urine out of carpet etc. I hope these are of some help.
