- Q: Harley Davidson is a motorcycle and everything else is a bike
- Lets make a definition. Harley Davidson is a US motorcycle firm. HONDA makes four cylinder motorcycles and lots of other things for the home and garden. KAWASAKI makes motorcycles and DUCATI makes one cylinder motorcycles. So what is common among these creations? We usually think of a motorcycle of having 100 HP or more. We think of a motorcycle with a bigger, heavier frame, with more horsepower, with larger tires and wheels, with a weight of at least 100 lbs. and a capability of higher speeds, with 4, 5, or 6 speed transmissions. I think of a motorbike as not having more than one speed, sometimes belt driven, lower than 50 horsepower, and a limited maximum speed of about 50 MPH. Not hard and fast rules, but some guidelines. European countries often have HP ratings that qualify the 2 wheeled vehicle as a Moped, a Motorbike, or a Motorcycle. Can you expand or improve on these qualifications?
- Q: how wide of a tire can i put on a 1989 yamaha fzr 600 motorcycle?
- Nice to know someobody's still running around on an FZR600. Great bike, and standing the test of time better than the CBR of the same era. Cheapest easiest way to get yourself a lower bike is to back the preload right off on the back shock. This will lower the back end. It's achieved by unscrewing the nut at the bottom of the back shock absorber. The bike may feel a bit softer to ride, a little less responsive to bumps in the road, but it shouldn't handle badly. If the steering feels a bit slow, or you want a little more leg room, you can drop the forks through the yokes a centimetre or two. This is easy to do, no special equipment needed but not a one-person job. Try these before spending money on shorter shocks and thinner seats - you may be surprised by the results. Good luck.
- Q: I want to get a motorcycle licence, because i‘m tired of taking two city buses to school and back everyday -.- I‘m 17 and i‘m not 18 till, march 29, of 2013 so its a while to get my drivers licence , My question is How can I get a motor cycle licence? what can I do to start? I need steps from point A to B thank you all in advance ^-^
- Sorry, tired, your do your own work, trust answerers anyhow if you are smart Google california DMV, driver's license, faqs. How you get to on two wheels: You have to have taken Drivers Education and Drivers Training (in a car) Hoops you jump thru depends on if you do or don't have your Class-C (car) dirver's license.
- Q: I want to buy a used bike. What should I take in to consideration when buying it? The tires, chain, carburetor, mileage? Anything else? What is it that I have to look out for in detail? How do I tell stuff is worn out, like the chain? I‘m planning on getting a ninja 250 or 500 because I‘m a new rider, but I really want a Harley. Any other suggestions? Your answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
- We us Craig's List too. Do a few study earlier than you purchase. Scooters in most cases should not have as a lot vigour and also you cannot take them at the highway, for instance. Do pass forward and take the State Motorcycle Safety Training elegance that you are going to want besides to get your license. It's valued at the money and time, you'll be trained the way to force a motorbike or scooter, and they're going to talk about the diversities among the specific forms. It can even generally retailer your existence by means of stopping an coincidence born or lack of understanding (no offense, that occurred to me on my first trip BEFORE the category). One of our motorcycles is a 2008 Honda Rebel, a superb motorbike for a newbie, that we observed in Craig's List. It was once handiest $two,500. We did this in 2009 and it is nonetheless a favourite.
- Q: I have a neighbor that has it in his motorcycles, but I am convinces it is good. Dunlap tires does not approve of it. Just thought I would throw it out there on a snowy in Missouri, I can‘t till spring. Thank you for your thought and to those who have used it.
- It's a waste of money and time, not to mention pissing off the guy who changes your tire and gets all that crap that's in your tire all over his machine. All it does is add weight (unsprung) to your wheel. The tire and wheel balancers are pretty good and unless you are going to a 300mph run at the salt flats, you just don't need that precise a balance on your modern motorcycle tires. I also just love people who put aside the manufacturer's recommendation for the guy next door. The manufacturer has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to bring that tire to market. They have all kinds of computer modeling programs and engineers on their staff to determine the answers to these kinds of questions and somebody takes the word of the 'guy next door'. In this case, liquid balancing is snake oil. A waste of money on all levels.
- Q: With gas prices being what they are I would like to know more about motorcycles. What would be a good street bike? What sort of fuel economy can I expect? How long does a motorcycle last? Are they good for the same mileage as a car for longevity? What brands are best for economy, purchase price, maintenance, etc.?
- First my husband is a double master mechanic and a motorcycle rider so you can say I have been around it quite a bit. I also ride motorcycles. The first question you have to ask yourself is do you mind being out in the elements, cold in the winter, hot in the summer, no heater, no a/c. If you are not prepared to ride the bike during these times of the year you are not going to save any money by it sitting in your garage. Most motorcycle deaths by people riding these racy Japanese rice rockets, my recommendation choose a cruiser. Japanese bikes are smooth and will give you good gas mileage, quite and most comfortable. Out of all the Japanese bikes Honda is the only one who supports the parts lifetime. My meaning if you buy a Suzuki after 5-10 years you may not get the parts but a Honda you will. However depreciation is very steep. If you want a bike that is going to hold its value you need to be looking at Harley of course they cost a little more but you will get more of your money back if you sell. Most importantly I recommend you attain your motorcycle license first and then test ride as many bikes as you can. You need to feel comfortable on a bike no matter what it is.
- Q: What model year is this motorcycle? tire size/ dimensions?
- Highly doubtful you could just go out and buy one like that. Bobbers like the ones in your magazine article are usually custom built by the owners.
- Q: Ready to change the rear tires. Before and after are 4.00-12 vacuum tires, but now the rear tires were significantly wider than the front tread, repair master said no wide, pedal regardless of front and rear tires, is it? Another 4.00-12 vacuum tire morning how the new card? 160 a so expensive
- Change the quality of the new Huafeng card is good, the quality of other cards generally like!
