Q: I wonder if anyone could help me with any special tools I might need when removing wheels on motorbikes to change the Tyre‘s for instance on my Suzuki if I want to remove the front wheel I have a bolt and two nuts that fits into the socket of the axle shaft to remove it and I wonder if anyone knew of any other situations that standard tools simply are not enough.thanks
well you need tire tools to remove the tire from the wheel they make the one that have a protective cover so they don't scar the wheel try online denis kirk if you looking to buy them. or any other tire or motorcyctel supply store.
Q: This is not the first time I have a punctures in my rear tire of my Ninja 250 Im extremely pissed off. Those screws punctured my tires twice were from construction areas, not only the road constructions but also home or building construction nearby the roads. I find this ridiculous that Kawasaki do not use Warranty on my tire for that type of thing. I cant be spending 200 dollars on my Pirelli every time that damn thing keeps puncturing my tire. Some area I have to go through it because the destination is right in the between the construction. I do not carry alot of money and cant be spending too much on the tires. My area is having alot of renovations all over the city. What do I need to do? Call the DOT and tell them?
Tires are not a warranty item, sorry. If you can, find a different way around the construction areas. You can certainly file a complaint with the road authority for that road, but it probably won't change anything. If you are paying 200 bucks for a rear tire for your Ninja 250, you are paying way too much even if you include mounting and balancing. Motorcycle Superstore has Pirellis for your bike for 72 bucks.
Q: bike was bought new 3 years ago. it was operated for the 8 months then sat for 12 months. the operated for another 6 months then sat for another 7. i‘ve had it now for a couple of months and i want to know if i should get new tires. they are not cracking or flaking and they don‘t chip away when i dig my finger nails into them. what do you think?
Without tire rot or chafing go back to the tread depth. The US Minimum is 2/32 Place a penny upside down in thread if it touches Abe's hairline you are OK. BUT trust in tires is the best feeling around bikes, if you're worried get new tires.
Q: Specifically A 87 honda nighthawk 550.took a minor spill bounced it off to the left.thanks for the help
There is no alignment on the front of a bike. If the tire is not in line with the handlebars (or more technically, the triple trees), then the forks are bent. It can be pretty easy to bend fork legs with even very minor impacts if the force is applied in the right way. While the correct fix is to replace the fork legs (usually just the main leg, not the larger sliders), that can get pricey unless you do it yourself. If it's really minor and the forks still work smoothly I might be tempted to rotate them in the triple trees to try to straighten it out. I can't offically recommend that though.
Q: pls explain. Nd answr dis
Most, but not all, motorcycle’s speedometers are driven by the front wheel so when the front tyre* is off the road the reading is no longer accurate – however the wheel does not stop rotating so the speedo does not read zero (and you would not want the wheel to stop rotating as that will create inertia when you land the wheelie and cause an accident). *the spelling is correct for most of the world, insular Americans aside

Q: My car broke, and I am interested in getting a new vehicle. I have been thinking about buying a motorcycle, but I have been reading the winter salt and sand might be really bad for motorcycles. I only want one vehicle so I would ether get a car or bike.So my question is, would buying a motorcycle and riding it during the winter destroy my bike and make it not worth it? Is corrosion bad or minimal.can I prevent it?
You can do a lot to protect the bike during winter. Corrosion can be pretty bad, so it would require more maintenance during Winter, than during Summer. How badly does it snow where you are? if the snow is a minimal or nonexistent problem, then it won't be that bad, but if it snows a lot, then a car will be a better choice for you for the winter. I would be more concerned with safety during the winter, than maintenance, with the issues of normal ice on the roads and black ice.
Q: I have a katana and the recomended tire specs are michelin Front : 120/70 ZR17 (58W) Rear : 150/70 ZR17 (69W) Right now I have Dunlop 170/60 ZR17 (72W) on the rear and a Dunlop 120/70 ZR17 (58W) on the front. My first question is, how are these tires sized? For example, in the spec rear tire: 150/70 R17 (69W) what each number stand for?My second question is since I have a 170/60 ZR17 (72W) is that bad or good? Is it over or under?
it don,t sound too major ! sounds like the transmission filter is clogged up and the front pump can,t pick up the fluid ! after the dirt gets washed away then it take hold and starts to move ! drop the pan and change the fluid and filter but don,t flush it !
