Q: If a Z Rated tire is for 149 mph and up and a W rated tire is for 168 mph and up, can‘t you just get the Z rated once since if you can go 149 mph and up, 168 is faster than 149. What do those ratings mean????
Are you aware of the speed limit ?! LOL S Max 122mph H Max 130mph V Max 150mph W Max 168mph Y Max 186mph Have you got Z wrong ?
Q: bike was bought new 3 years ago. it was operated for the 8 months then sat for 12 months. the operated for another 6 months then sat for another 7. i‘ve had it now for a couple of months and i want to know if i should get new tires. they are not cracking or flaking and they don‘t chip away when i dig my finger nails into them. what do you think?
the major issue for motorcycle tires is usually tread wear. second to that comes dry rotting from them sitting for a long period of time. The average life span in terms of miles is about 10,000 depending on how you ride. But the actual time for your tires to go bad can vary considerably with where you live and where the bike is stored. Also the older a tire is the less effective it will be when breaking. My advice would be to check the tread depth of the tire if its past 50% and the tire is three years old. Replace it. Hope that helps!
Q: What is a good tire to use on my motorcycle?
I mentioned in a reply to one of the other questions that our mindreading abilities had been temporarily shut off. You just hold your breath and wait and I'm sure they'll return.
Q: I‘m considering Michelin Pilot Power, which are fairly low-priced. Are there others which are excellent and moderately priced I should consider?
Sure pilot power are good. But Pilot Road 2 or 3 give you good traction and will last 10K. Pilot power is only good for 5K.

Q: Lets say the front tire. If it blows is ther absolutely no way of staying up? How much does it depend upon your speed? I‘ve ridden in the country for two years, but then moved to L.A., and now am thinking about riding on the freeway. Will a blowout kill you?
This Site Might Help You. RE: If riding a motorcycle, and one of the tires blows out, Is there any way to keep the bike upright? Lets say the front tire. Q: winter is approaching and i need to store my bike somewhere, i have no garage and little money. i was thinking of making an A frame with plywood on it to give some shelter from the snow (i do have a cover but when snow sits on it the moister seeps through). then there is the whole gas situation, what should i put in the tank to keep the gas from going bad? my neighbor told me about some stuff last year but i don‘t recall what it is. should i also clean and lube my chain before i store it away?
Since you ask about a A frame I assume a house with a yard, that is what I would do. Just a 6 foot wide by 8 foot long. A pair of 8 foot by 8 foot panels, 10- 2x3x8' studs, 4- sheets of 4'x8'x3/8 plywood, shingled. Leave the ends open. You are in Maryland, just north of D.C Your weather isn't that horridly bad. You will have bright sunny days some in the Winter, where the streets have been cleaned. Ride the bike! If not, just run the engine for about 5-10 minutes every other week.
Q: HiI have an 08 Ninja 250R, Im looking to buy new tires that are going to be a good in the corners, wet and last. Price is no object. So does anyone know what will be the best ones for the job because the current ones are dunlop which are shockingly bad.Front 110/70 x 17Rear 130/70 x 17
Michelin Pilot Road 3 - I got 12,000 miles out of my last pair. They are dual compound (hard center for long distance, soft sides for handling) and they have a more aggressive tread pattern for water dispersion in the rain. I'm on Pilot Road 2 now because I don't ride as much as I used to and I'm hardly ever in the rain.
