Q: I have no issues with motorcycles. I actually think they are very cool. I own one as well. I live in a pretty bad neighborhood. There are a lot of kids who were badly influenced at a young age and think they are from the hood. There is this one kid who has a motorcycle and has no respect for others. He just drives in circles around the neighborhood while the whole neighborhood is trying to sleep. This is from the middle of the day to the middle of the night. It‘s very awful. This kid has no remorse for the people around him. Does anyone know the easiest way to pop a motorcycles tires? This kid needs to be taught a lesson.
I#x27;m the last person to call the cops. I believe everything can be handled other ways, but on this one if the kid gets hurt or hurts someone else cause you tamper with his bike(which I also believe don#x27;t do) you could be held responsible. So you need to get with a neighbor or three and let the cops handle it. Now I#x27;m older and don#x27;t do stupid stuff in my neighborhood, people that come to my house know the rules. You piss off my neighbors you don#x27;t come back ever. Now if I saw someone messing with one of my bikes I#x27;ll shoot first and call people to get rid of the body.
Q: I had new a new front and back put on, and a tune up. Rode away, and the front of the bike vibrates in an up/down motion at slow speeds, especially when you change speeds. Brought it back twice, and they re-balanced the front tire. Still nothing. The third time they replaced the tire with a different kind - STILL shimmies. I am bringing it back and they will KEEP the bike until they find the problem, but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if you may know what the issue is.
Racing tires are very soft compound, wear VERY FAST. If you do not have proper width rims, will have a very poor contact patch, as the racing tires are normally for wider rims, and a street rim makes them too round where they contact the street, there fore, do not have as much rubber on the road as a proper street tire. Also - expensive. The factory recommended tire size, in a brand name tire, Dunlop, Avon Michelin, Metzler, etc, not cheapies, will handle best, and give far better service than a 'racing' tire. If you are racing, of course, all things turn around, the things which make a racing tire unsuitable for the street, mostly are of no importance on the track, as long as you have proper wheels, the wear factor is not important, the greatly increased traction is crucial. And the wheels must be proper width for the tire you use. Go Fast, Go Safe, Go Smart. Tomcotexas.
Q: I heard they have to be changed about every 6k miles, but that‘s coming from a friend that doesnt know much about motorcycles. Also, what brand/ type of tires will last the longest on a motorcycle, help please!!!
depends on the tyre you use! if its a soft compound tyre and you ride it hard all the time, you'll have to change it at around 4-6k miles but obviously the harder the compound the more miles you can get out of them , roughly double the soft compound. but the harder the compound usually you have less grip than the soft, but you get more miles. its about compromise. id go for a 2 compound tyre! soft on the outside hard in the middle. so youu get best of both worlds dunlop are good for this as are bridgestone get on the tinternet and do your research! hope that help a bit
Q: How long does it take for a motorcycles tired to warm up?
Since rubber is a good insulator most authorities say allow 30 Min at road speed before checking. (The compound on the surface warms up faster. That number is for inflation pressure change.)
Q: im just wondering because i always wanted a motorcycle and i want to know what im getting into before i buy one. Im 17 right now legally old enough to ride one
Motorcycles are usually not effortless in anyway shape or type. We experience for the reason that we love to ride. A few of us are fortunate adequate to live in a part of the nation the place we can ride most all yr long. Sure, I still own a automobile and a truck. It's particularly tough to carry groceries and lumber on a bike. A full costume Harley is in regards to the WORST commuting bike there may be. They're expensive, wreck down too often and are very high-priced to preserve, in particular should you do not do the work your self. There are excellent commuter bikes, however they aren't fancy Harleys and so they most likely are not anything everyone stands around the water cooler and brags about. The Vaquero is often more safe than a Harley, however again, it's now not relatively a commuter bike. It isn't going to be less expensive to function than the Harley. A Kawasaki KLR650 is a good commuter bike as is a Suzuki VStrom, a Kawasaki Versys, a Suzuki Bandit, a honda Nighthawk, a yamaha FZ6 or FZ8, a BMW 650cc or 800cc (various types), Triumph Bonneville or any of various different non-enjoyable 600 to 900cc motorcycles. They all have their pluses and minuses. Careful consideration of it is reason is key to purchasing a motorcycle. A Full costume Harley or Vaquero is not there for use, it can be there for appears and bragging rights. Yeah, they can be ridden, but that is particularly no longer what they are made for.
Q: I need 3.00X18 motorcycle tires?
Do you need road tires or off-road (knobbies) tires? Knobbies are pretty common, but road tires are not. Dunlop makes a K70 road tire and Cheng-Shin makes a cheap copy of it (C180). The Dunlop is about 60-80 bucks, the Cheng-Shin is about 20 to 30 bucks.
Q: why is there a ridge in the middle of my motorcycle tire?
its the seem where they poured the mold, there shouldn't be a ridge, take it to a tire place and get it looked at,
Q: I recently attempted to tighten my chain for the first time and it seemed I had the right slack on it and I also took the rear caliper off because I need to have it replaced and while I was riding. I sped up at a decent speed and the chain came off so I slowed as fast as I could and put it back on, then started again and soon again it came off.
There is a id tag (manufactures tag) you get the numbers and take them to your chevy dealer.
Q: how do I find motorcycle tires country of origin?
The country of origin is embossed / labeled on the tyre itself. Pending on region, there are a few country of origin for the same make. Eg. Dunlop - Japan, Malaysia, Thailand. Metzeller - Brazil , France. Michellin - France, Japan Bridgestone - USA, Japan, Pirelli - USA, Italy Euro Rubber - Thailand Tyres are printed with the following info, Make, Model, Size, Profile, DIrection of rotatation (or tyre position), country of make, and tyre type eg tube / tubeless. these are the standard specification for all tyre manufacturers to follow. Its usually on the sidewall of the tyre, right after the 'direction arrow'. Quite small though, about a 4mm in height. P.S - the country of origin in not essential, perhaps only for costing. You should worry more about the compound / profile. Cheers. R1 Rider.
