Q: its for a cruising/harley type motorcycle with the rear wheel being bald about 60%. can i still ride safely in the rain? or if its just wet?
I got flat tires much less often when I started checking my tire pressures every time I ride. On my road bike, I always inflate the tires up to the max pressure indicated on the sidewall. HTH
Q: Hi everyone, I have a 2003 Yamaha V-Star. Does anyone know the going rate to repair the back tire of these motorcycles or similar ones? I‘m trying to get her fix up for this summer, so I could enjoy the summer months.
Motorcycle tires don't repair well. If it's worn out, you need to replace it. Replacement cost should be $150 to $200 installed for the rear tire. A bit less for the front. Depends on the brand of tire and the shop charge for replacing it of course. It will be less expensive if you can take the wheel off yourself and take it into the shop for them to dismount the old tire and mount a new tire.
Q: I‘ve got a 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R - I‘m replacing the front tire however I‘m having issues finding the exact same replacement tire for the front.the old tire is a 120/65R17 the only replacements I can find that match the rear tire are 120/70R17. Is this going to be a problem? I‘m not worried about speedometer changes or anything, I just want to make sure the 70 will still be able to be mounted to the stock rim. My other problem is there is only one website I can use to have it shipped to me as I‘m in the military serving overseas and most major websites won‘t ship to APO addresses.please help me out if possible. Thanks
First, you should observe the rim. Note its sized. I guess the rim is sized 2.50 to 2.75. If it is, you can replace old tire with 100/80, 100/90, 110/80, 110/90 for 2.50 rim, and 120/80, 120/90 for 2.75 rim
Q: ok before all you safety nuts blow a gasket, the motorcycle is a old 400cc that we cut about a ton of crap off and made a little bobber. its just to cruze around town. it is not a race bike i will kill myself on, its not a 2000lb hog. i DO NOT need $400 tires to be safe. i could put 4 new bfg‘s on my van for less thsn $400 for f‘s sake. i don‘t even have $400 into the whole bobber project. i want new CHEAP tires. i don‘t care about speed rating, weight limits, anything better then the dry rotted ones on there. if i ever run it over 40mph it would be a miracle. it‘ll never see a highway. its about 200lbs less then factory and has 1 seat. if i can‘t get 2 new tires on the net for around $50, i‘ll just run the old ones or look for some used ones around here. thanks in advance everyone.
Don't bother If you can't afford the best tyres for your bike then garage it and don't ride You place yourself at risk with cheap and maybe inferior tyres and the safety of other road users One other point to remember is that top quality tyres are likely to give you a better mileage return so they in fact end up not being quite so expensive In the interest of safety get TOP QUALITY tyres without compromise Keep safe and ride safe
Q: I have a continuous flow of motorcycle tires. Do I have to pay to recycle them or do I get paid to recycle them? Where do I go to do one of the two?
Drop them off at a tire recycling facility, or a motorcycle dealer. They WILL charge you, but it's worth it to have them disposed of properly. Where I live (Ontario, Canada) we are charged a $5.00 stewardship fee per tire (car OR bike).
Q: I currently have a 140/80 17 and I saw a really good price for a 150/70 17. so a tire with a width of 150 would that fit my rim??? And my front tire is I think a 110/80 17 so with the back tire being a 70 would the front tire look alot bigger then the rear or not really??? And if you know how much bigger is the 80 from the 70 like in centimeters or something???
No way to tell without knowing what kind of bike you are talking about.
Q: when a tire says 110/90/19 does it matter if you get a tire that is 100/90/19 is there a difference and could it be used
Those are motorcycle tires not bicycle tires. You couldn't use either one on a bicycle.
