- Q: Harley Davidson is a motorcycle and everything else is a bike
- A Motorcycle has wire spokes on the wheels and a Motorbike has 3 to 6 wider/thicker spokes on the wheels. Yes I know, some Cruisers do come out with solid wheels. So bite me. Stay Upright.
- Q: I have a 04 cbr 1000rr and need tires can anyone point me to a good site that has good prices and shipped fast?
- Bike Bandit have the best prices for motorcycle tires
- Q: I am looking to buy my first bike. I am trying to find one that has fat tires. I am looking for a sport touring, standard, touring bike, or a sport that is comfortable to sit on for long distance and can sit upright. Thanks
- The best way to avoid buying the wrong bike for you is to rent a bike for a day or two and compare several bikes to make sure you will be getting the bike that's right for you. My suggestion is to look for motorcycle rental companies in your area. At the yahoo search box type in motorcycle rental (your city) and find local motorcycle rental companies. Then call several companies to check out their inventory to see if they have any of the bikes you are interested in buying. I own a motorcycle rental company in San Francisco. We have most of the sport touring bikes on the market including a BMW R1200 RT, Honda ST1300, Yamaha FJR1300 and a Kawasaki Concours to name a few.
- Q: Ok so I live in Florida which is sunny and warm almost ALL the time. Where I live in Florida the highways (if thats what you would call them) have almost nobody driving on them so there is very limited danger in terms of other vehicles. I have roughly 2500 dollars to spend. All the cars I‘ve looked at are really crappy and they look ugly with incredibly high miles. But on the other hand the Kawasaki Ninja 250r I can get for 2000 dollars with low miles, great MPG and of course looks completely awesome, and have 500 left for bike wear. This seems like a great idea considering if I do have to drive I can very so easily get a ride. I‘m a senior in High School BTW.
- Getting a motorcycle as your first vehicle can be a good idea when it comes to travelling on busy roads where there's too much traffic since they can be time saving as well as economical in maintenance costs. Although you can't easily use them during rainy periods since you have to wear rain gears before travelling and is a nuisance. Also, the percentage of accidents on motorcycles are higher than on 4 wheeled vehicles. If you really wish to buy a motorcycle, I advise you to choose those with wide tires since they don't easily slip while driving on wet roads. Never drive when you're under any intoxicating drinks since your sense of balance and timing is very much lessened when you're under the spirit of alcohol. Take it from me since i own a 400 cc motorcylce and a lot of probable chances to commit an error when driving motorcycles is high. Just see to it that you practice defensive driving by heart when you're at the road and you'll be fine.
- Q: I have a 2003 Kawasaki Mean Streak 1500cc bike. The OEM front tire is a 130/70R17. I wanted to know what sizes of tires I can put on the front rim. I‘m something of a novice when it comes to bikes so any help is greatly appreciated.
- People always think that bike manufacturers put such care into designing these things, taking into account the perfect tires. That's BS. Money is the bottom line, in most cases. They don't care how big V-twin handles. Who buys a bike like that because it handles well? Expect that kind of care taken in cases like race bikes (600RR). If it were me, I would keep with the same tire size because of fit, however, you can go with other sizes. Keep the same width because you don't want to have to mess with spacing. As far as height and sidewall, for every inch you go up in wheel height, you need to compensate by going down 12.5mm in sidewall height. That way you don't have to adjust your speedometer and you know the tire will fit under the fender. 130 (width, mm)/70 (sidewall,mm)/R (tire type, Radial) 17 (wheel height, inches) If you want an 18 inch wheel, you'll gain an inch total of tire height. To compensate, you'll want to go down 12.5mm in sidewall height. One inch about 25mm. Divided that by 2 because there are 2 sides of the wheel. The biggest draw back is not knowing how much air to put into the tire. The sidewall rating is the MAX PSI that the tire can handle. It is not how much air you should put in it. The owner's manual will tell you the PSI rating based on the stock tires and the weight of the bike. The same goes for your car. NEVER use the psi rating on the tire.
- Q: what size tube for a 140/80-17 motorcycle tire?
- Most tires nowadays are tubless.

- Take the class and get some riding experience on different bikes. The msf class will teach you the basics, but getting proficient is entirely up to you. The 250 is inexpensive but not much fun to ride. Acceleration is weak and generally the engine has little power. Roads are not parking lots, cars get real close at highway speeds, know what to expect, and always have an out if you get crowded, cagers never see you until it is too late!
- Q: chain is tight and secure. i can‘t figure out what is going on since nothing appears to be loose.
- How's the tire pressure? sounds low. Good luck.
- Q: And does anyone know anything about it, at all?:
- well the vacine passed the FDA so its safe and wats the difference if ur kid eats dirt or licks a rock. He most likely will be fine. Or he will get herpes of the mouth.
- Q: I am a rookie to motorcycles. I wanted to save gas so I got my license and bought a sportsbike. It has been about a year since I‘ve had it and the tread on the front tire is done. I bought a new tire and have it with me however, all the mechanics around here are jipping me for sure. I really don‘t want to overpay for a tire change but I don‘t want a low quality job from some drive around mechanic off of craigslist. Unfortunately i do not have any acquaintances that deal with motorcycles so I am clueless on what to do. My question is if there is a website or a set of rules and safety measures I can follow so that I can personally replace the tire. I have all the time and patience in the world. As someone who changes tires, do you think I can accomplish this. If possible, can any of you provide a link to a step by step process.I own a 2004 yamaha r6. tire size 120/60 ZR17.
- Although it is relatively easy for an experienced mechanic to change a tyre, it is just as easy to get it wrong or only be able to do half the job if you do it yourself when you are clueless. So man up and accept that some things are worth paying for, it is very annoying to wrestle a tyre onto the rim and then discover you have damaged the disc and scratched the rim. Removing the wheel from the bike will make the job cheaper. And an R6 is not a great choice to save fuel, they are designed to convert fuel into fast forward motion.
