Q: I have a Kawasaki ZX-11 and I just got it out for the summer. I checked the tires and they were really low (about 25 psi front, 30 rear). I noticed after filling them up to the recommended 40/40 the bike feels much heavier and in some/many ways harder to control on the corners (I pretty much live on a mountain). The rear tire is new and the front is due for replacement sometime this year. The bike weighs 585-615lbs wet, and I don‘t weigh enough to really anger the thing. I want to stick with the lower PSI as I like the feel of it. I know about the dangers of running exceedingly low PSI in the tires (thinking 25psi or less), but I want to know a low, yet safe, PSI I can run on it town and on the mountain. Thanks in advance!
This Site Might Help You. RE: What PSI should you run in motorcycle tires? I have a Kawasaki ZX-11 and I just got it out for the summer. Q: I own a 2002 yamaha r1. My rear tire has deflated due to a nail puncture. Is it smart to repair/patch the tire or should I just buy a new rear tire. Im kinda strap for cash and its about $250+ for a new tire and installation. Need advice!
do what you want just remember its your skin on the line! i would never patch or plug a motorcycle tire. i would rather spend the cash on a tire that is whole and not have to worry about a patch or plug coming out
Q: What are the tires used on a Suzuki GS700E motorcycleI just got a new . well new old motorcycle. 1985 GS700E, I need tires for it but I dont know what kind of tires it uses. Can someone help me out. I have tried searching on the internet, I have looked and gotten a few different answers but I need the right one.Can any one helpThanks!
I Google your question What are the tires used on a Suzuki GS700E motorcycle Easily came up with the link below and the sizes. 100/90-16 front and 120/90-17 rear. Took all of 30 seconds.
Q: Here is my predicament. I bought a wrecked 2001 Yamaha R6 from a neighbor about a year ago and I recently got it up and running about three months ago. Right before my neighbor wrecked he had put brand new ( He might have put 300 miles on the tires) Michilen Powers on both the front and rear. Although the tires were new when he went down the totaled bike sat in his garage for about 3 years untouched. The tires do not have much wear but I am afraid to get low on corners because I don‘t know if the rubber is dried out or if the tires have a shelf life. When I pop the clutch in second gear I often feel wheel spin but the r6 is a more powerful bike then I am accustomed to so I don‘t know that is normal. Long story short, Is it dangerous for me to get low on corners because of my tires? Is it possible that they are dry and loosing grip?Any wisdom is welcome.
According to tire manufacturers, this tire drying out( and the fine cracks) are caused by ozone from electrical motors and similar sources in his garage. I personally have ridden many different bikes with lightly cracked tires and have not had any problems, but that doesn't mean you will have good luck with your tires.
Q: Motorcycle tires 4PR what does it mean
This logo is made of nylon tires, and 4PR represents the strength of a 4-layer kapok layer.
Q: 2006 honda shadow spirit and need to replace the rear tire, I would rather buy the tire off the net then buy from a dealer,
Follow the owner's manual instructions. Is it shaft or chain? GOOGLE the keywords and get the answer
Q: My rear motorcycle tire gradually loses air pressure but makes no hissing sounds. How do I repair it?
Squirt soapy water all over it and look for a spot where tiny bubbles are forming. That's where the leak is, you may find a nail or something stuck in the tire. If you're lucky, you can repair it with a tire repair kit from the auto parts store. With the kit, you bore out the place where the leak is with a tool provided, then, use a rubber plug with glue that is inserted into the hole with another tool (also provided). Then you have to refill the tire. Hope you get back on the road before it's too cold!
Q: what does the the abbreviations mean on a tire? as in battleax BT-021, vs Bt-016
It is identification for hardness, tire type and tread design, say a a BT 014 is a softer coumpond tha a BT 020.
Q: It‘s a Michelin Pilot (I believe) with a few thousand miles on it, but tons of tread left, so I don‘t want to replace it just yet. There‘s a small tear, about 3/4 of an inch, and about tread depth near the center of the tire (Not the sidewall). Can it be filled? There‘s no air leaking, so I was thinking of filling it with superglue to prevent it from getting any worse, but I‘d rather use a specialized product for tires if that‘s possible. Can anyone recommend a product or technique to repair this? Thank you
There is NO way that this tire is safe any more. It MUST be replaced, as there is no way to repair the damage that you describe.
Q: I have a 1992 yamaha fzr 600 with sportbike tires on it. bridgestones. How high should they be pumped up?
