Bike is a 2000 HD Sporty 1200XL Custom but has been customized to the point of being barely recognized as a Sportster.: On the Dunlop D402 MH90-21, the M stands for motorcycle tire and the H stands for the tire width code. On the Dunlop D401 130-90HB-16, the H stands for the speed rating and the B stands for the load range. For the front, the recommended tire is the D402F in size MH90-21, although the D407F in size MH90-21 is a viable alternative. It has been designed with a certain combination of suspension components and tires, and any change will be detrimental to the ride quality and handling. A Katana is already a slow turning bike, and a wider tire will make it even slower handling - I'm talking about how quick (or slow) the bike can turn from one side to the other. It's possible that a 180 size tire will fit on there, you just have to see if there's space. If it doesn't fit there's no modification you can do that will help at a reasonable cost. Do yourself a favor and stick to the factory recommended tire size.

My question is if there is a website or a set of rules and safety measures I can follow so that I can personally replace the tire. I have all the time and patience in the world. As someone who changes tires, do you think I can accomplish this. If possible, can any of you provide a link to a step by step process.I own a 2004 yamaha r6. tire size 120/60 ZR17.: motorcycle tool kits used to come with tire change kits that you could use. Its halpfull to have the right gear for changing a tire and you have to be carefull. The big problem you have is tubeless tires are a ***** and you either need gasoline and have experience or a good compressor. My bikes were spokes which have to have a tube anyway. As long as you dont pinch the tube and rupture it and you can get the tire and the tube on the bike and tighten it all down right your in like flynn. Its hard on the fingers and you need two decent tire bars made for motorcycle tires the longer the better.you do most of the tire and rim by hand its the llast part thats a pain in the butt. I alwayd had some pretty strong wrists and that really helped.
